Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) **** PART III ****

Hi, still waiting to here back from DCL on another tasting. It sounds like our cruise is VERY full, she is trying to see if there is a space and time open. I don't drink wine, so I thought I'd try to open up another drinking opportunity.:drinking1:

Any more word on our cruise director? I was hoping for Christian. I hope my favorite server will still be on the Magic. No one on the boards seems to know "Mo"
Sorry, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Christian is back aboard the Wonder. The last time we spoke with him, he was planning to transferring to the Dream when she comes online.

I'd be up for a DIS Tequila tasting, even if we just plan to participate in the regularly scheduled Tequila tasting. I figure hubby is up for either a whiskey or Cognac tasting (or both).

Folks, this is a NIGHT LAUNCH and Discovery will light up the night sky if she goes up. You should be able to see the contrail from Miami to New York, if the weather is clear.

For those of you staying at CI&S, there are prime viewing locations not 5 minutes from the hotel. Of course, if you walk out the front entrance to the hotel and look North-East, you should be able to see the launch once she clears the pad. Of course the sound will be about 45 seconds behind the light.

All of this leads me to my next question.......how many people ARE staying the the Country Inns and Suites the night before the cruise AND are you going to be having any kind of DIS meet beforehand? Inquiring minds want to know.

We are staying at CI&S and would love to have a DIS get together!!

Us too with 3PrincessGrandma and Grandpa!

DH had volunteered to organize a group meet at WDW during the week before the cruise, but no one took him up on it, so I'm sure he'd be happy to organize something the evening of the 17th. Is there a restaurant nearby that folks would like to get together at?

So happy our BOTP group is growing.
Love the t-shirt
Is everyone else happy with the t-shirt? Im only asking so I can order I leave in less than 2 weeks and dont wanna miss out.
Colette

We are at CI&S, already meeting a HS friend of DH's for dinner on the 17th, but would stop by where ever afterwards to meet up :goodvibes

Going to confirm our ressie at CI&S today. Good idea! :thumbsup2

I did a Komen 5K in Sept and I did it in 42 min, running very little of it (the downhill portions ...). I really don't run, at all.

Having trouble finding the shirts on zazzle :confused3

Time to make some pies ... Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating :)

We are staying at the Residence Inn, thanks for the tip on confirming our reservations! DS's last exam and DD's school Christmas party are scheduled for Friday a.m. so we will be driving all day and not arriving until around midnight. We should see the launch while we are driving, and maybe by the time we get there the traffic will have cleared and be going the opposite direction! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I hope its not delayed - even if it is the 18th, shouldn't we be able to see it? It would be adream come true for our family...

Been of the boards getting busy. Can't read past pages, everything is getting locked up on me today. Must be a very busy morning!

I am the turkey cook today, so I had better get busy quick. It's 7 am here. Quite a bit on snow and ice. WIll enjoy WATCHING the SAINTS beat the Cowboys.

I didn't get to report about my great precruise meet with Angie. We hit it off right away, and could have talked for hours more. It got me so excited for the cruise. We met in the coffee lounge area in front on Marshalls - I knew her it was her right away. A tall, SLIM, lovely person. Angie - any formal clothes will look great on you, and I can see why you want to dress up. I, alas, am shrinking...

Saw a few first pages about the Royal Wedding. I am quite a Republican (the kind against monarchy, not the kind pro-Sarah Palin, in that respect I am quite a Democrat...) It just seems like a lot of money to spend in this day and age. I hope my new UK friends won't flame me too much for that.

By Sat., I can report we are all packed up. Have a great Turkey Day everyone, we have lots to be thankful for. Kathleen

Mndisfam- Amen to them Saints whoopin somw Cowboy butt!! I'm gonna love what they do to the 'Boys after what they did to us last year in our own house.

OK, somehow I completely missed that we might actually SEE A LAUNCH -- and a NIGHT LAUNCH! I thought Vicki was just telling us she had a reprieve from packing b/c the schedule was delayed.

So...OMG! How exciting would this be? Realistically, what are the chances Vicki?

Our DD is snuggling with us right now and I ran downstairs to post, trying to signal DH to follow me so I could share this news. He just looked at me like, "I'm not getting out of this warm bed crazy cruise-obsessed person". :)

However...he will be excited for this!

Lounging this morning then headed over to SIL's for turkey day festivities. Looking forward to getting things organized for the trip and doing some cleanup around the house (closets, etc.) and putting up our minimal Christmas decorations. Have told DD that we are going to try Christmas at our Lake house and will decorate there so she seems fine with just a little tree here. We are usually getting our giant real tree on Sat/Sun of Thanksgiving weekend and decking the halls extensively! I love that part, but just KNOW I won't feel like taking everything down when we all get back thoroughly relaxed from our Christmas in Paradise!

Nick & who all got the mickey head lights -- (1) thanks for the tip; and (2) where are you putting them and how many strings did you get? We only got one but I'm thinking we need more? Can we hang them off the veranda railing? What kind of batteries do we need? How many batteries are you bringing? I have no experience with battery powered Christmas lights. Lowes does have really cute Christmas window clings, fyi.

Happy Thanksgiving Cruise Friends! God Bless America.

Tonight my husband, kids and I had the pleasure of meeting LeiLani, her daughters and family friend. It was an honor...What a great bunch! If this is any indication of the people we are going to meet on this cruise then we are in for a wonderful treat! Our daughter absolutely fell in love with the girls and has been talking about seeing them again ever since we left Margarittaville! :cheer2: Needless to say we are even more excited about the trip now!
Christie,Brady,Tsyenna & Brady

We had the pleasure of meeting Christie and her family last night. It was a really great time at dinner! They are a lovely family and we can't wait to see more of them on the cruise.

Christie,

You have a beautiful family and we really had a great time at dinner last night. All of the girls commented on how well behaved your children were. Alyssa really enjoyed your DH and thought he was so funny and she can't wait to see him again on the cruise. It was funny to see how quickly Tsyenna took to Brittany. Brittany thought she was so cute and really enjoyed being able to interact with her. Being at college she isn't around little ones too often and she misses it. We look forward to seeing you again in a couple of weeks and we will finally get to meet all of our DIS friends! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I'll have to let my parents know about the shuttle launch. They are driving down on the 17th and I'm not sure they want to deal with the traffic. Have to give them a heads up today.

We went to see Tangled last night after dinner and it was really good. It was pretty funny and the girls really enjoyed it.

Count me in for the Castaway Cay 5K...yipee! I run like a turtle so I would be honored to join the "Back of the Pack Crew". :cool1: Perhaps I will get my DH to join in on the fun too :)

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have wonderful day with your family. Talk to you soon:-)

Happy Turkey Day!!!

Saw a few first pages about the Royal Wedding. I am quite a Republican (the kind against monarchy, not the kind pro-Sarah Palin, in that respect I am quite a Democrat...)

In the immortal words of David Cassidy, I think I love you.

That is all.

mndisfam I will not flame you, I agree the money could have a million better uses, however us British people have limited chances to join together in celebration so im up for it.

Welcome to the Back of the pack group swim mama :cool1: Should be good fun. Hopefully it will inspire everyone joining in to carry on running after too.

Happy thanksgiving everyone. We dont celebrate it here in the UK but we decided to have turkey for dinner tonight in honor of our American friends.

Colette

Hooray! I am really excited about this now.:dance3:
Sounds like you achieved alot. Well done. You will prob find that you improve fast. But dont push too hard if you have an old injury none of us are planning a 5k sprint. I think its best to either go with the slowest person or if anyone wants to go on thats fine too. The goal is to finish whatever the pace and enjoying the achievement.
Colette

I never thought of that way - I saw it as a failure, but I guess you are right - I did actually achieve alot! :woohoo: Now I am motivated to hit the treadmill before our cruise to make sure I can do the 5k at my own pace without hurting myself - thanks Colette! Back of the Pack, here we come!

We're staying at the Radisson Resort at the Port - are there any good viewing areas for the shuttle from there? Is it anywhere near the CI&S? Drinks after dinner for a DIS meet would be awesome!

I booked an expensive room at CI&S at the wee hours last night. Let us know if you hear the launch changes. Many of the other hotels are booked. We have a cheap TA rate in Orlando for the 17 too. So we will see what happens with the launch. Twice on past cruises there has been a launch on the day we had to fly home. So hopefully this one will happen. We are also planning Magic Kingdom for the 17'th, sounds like we would have to leave the park early to get to Cape Canaveral to see a launch. Hmmm.

That is what I thought for the cruise director, oh well.
