Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

Yeah, there is .. sigh. I saw far too many 0'dark-30's on this last trip to Cape Canaveral (just got back yesterday and was AT the airport @ 5:30AM). It would have been a GREAT trip if the shuttle had flown, but there's always Nov. 30th - Dec. 5th ...... keeping fingers crossed.

Back to reading, since I have so much to catch up on.

I can never sleep in on weekends, vacations, or any day that I can. It is a crisis for me. Today, is the time change so I was up at 3 AM on a Sunday morning wide awake and ready to go...To go, where? I have no idea.

Today, Disney is filming the Fantasy Christmas Parade at DL for their Christmas Special on ABC. I will not be able to go this year since we are celebrating my sister's birthday today.

Where are we with the FE? I am so confused. I am at the point where I just want to be told what to do, and I will do it. LOL

No Christmas decor up yet. But the concierge waiting area now has a glass partition instead of just the ropes. I'll post pics when we get back since I didn't bring my computer.

Thanks for all the libations help, guys. I don't drink but DH is a German and they do like their beer. So, he will just have to get his Warsteiner and his Jack and I'll wrap in bubble wrap and distribute among suitcases and hope it gets to Florida. I'm pretty sure there isn't any Warsteiner on the boat.

We are in 7576. Although, I dreamed last night we got bumped to a Cat 4. Better go check and see if that was foreshadowing!!

Choice 2 (Discruiser explanation
Group A (People that don't want to split)
Group B (People that do want to slit)

Group A gives/receives gifts to/from Group A and B
Group B ONLY gives/receives gifts to/from Group A

If we assume Group A is ~40 cabins and Group B is ~20 cabins (best guess based on current votes), then Group A will give and receive ~60 gifts. Group B will give and receive ~40 gifts. This decreases the count for Group B by a little bit more and probably makes more sense than Choice 1.

While my wife is going to say that I am talking like an engineer, hopefully this is a little bit easier for people to understand.

Well "engineer speak" must work for me - first time I understood the choice 2 option. And you are right with so few people wanting to be in the small pond it makes the most sense.
That being said I have only had 1 more request to be in the small pond and 3 wanting to graduate to big fish PLEASE REMEMBER if you want to be part of the smaller fish list you need to speak now or forever hold your fishy lips together in silence! I will start the small fish extraction process this evening and have lists available Monday AM. The way the numbers stand right now small fish would be giving to 52 cabins and the large fish 62. If those that just gave up and decided to be big fish wanted to go back to being small fish that would at least get you under 50 Not sure if the small fish feel 10 less cabins is worth it but if you do I am willing to split lists no problem Don't let the confusion stop you from being a small fish if that's what you would prefer! Just let me know, I'll take care of the math If any other small fish sign up your list will just get more manageable Okie dokie?

Splitting for a 10 room difference is not a true split. Save everyone (esp. yourself) grief and just do it as one group is my vote.

We were down for the Shuttle Launch too...how depressing...the kids lost so much time away from school that we are not sure if we will go down on the 30th. We were parked and going thru the doors when they scrubbed it on Friday- ugh!

So this is what my Dad's problem is, I just thought he liked beer. Of course he has 2 strikes against him since he is part German and part Irish. Lots of drinking! He also got that "cheapo" gene, because he drinks whatever is on sale! And I mean whatever!

Just got my tickets in hand for Harry Potter on the 19th at 7PM - WooHoo!

Our local theater is running movies 1-3 on the 17th and 4-6 on the 18th, $13 each day. So very tempting! Schedule only allows for 1-3 but to see them on the big screen again would be so nice!

With HP, Thanksgiving, etc, our departure date will be here before we know it

Me too.... I am trying to plan and while I am in the minority for splitting it 50% / 50%, I just want to be able to get moving on getting my FE's planned and finished.

Do any of you with curly hair attempt to straighten? I like to when I get dressed up sometimes, but wondering if I'm just waisting space in my suitcase b/c hair will frizz immed. b/c of humidity? I'm thinking I am silly for even considering trying to flat iron my hair on a cruise. Any experience?

I have super curly hair and I usually have my hair straighten before we leave. It stays fine on the ship for days. I don't hang outside in the rain or anything so it doesn't get frizzy. It just needs a touch up or two in the morning and looks great again. The picture I posted a bunch of pages back and on the facebook/website is like 2-3 days in. That was during the med cruise and it was hot and humid. It is not humid in the winter in So. Florida so it shouldn't be too humid in the tropics either. I would take it. They charge $50 plus tip (so $60) on board to straighten your hair and they won't do touchups for you with out charging the $50 again.

Straightening is a "procedure" for me but can last a few days at home so can be worth it tinewise; and is handy when I travel for work... But thinking all that stuff can stay home. I might have to sport a ball cap with my formal tho! Or lots of Bobby pins!

I see the salon offers a blow out; wonder how that works?

Do not go get a Brazilian Blowout. I'm still suffering the consequences from one last May. (Which I got for our Europe cruise)
My guess would be the salon does a fine job w/ regular styling. But did I understand $50.00?
