Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

I may have missed it, but has there been a final number count yet? We are flying in from Canada and need to think about total luggage weight, before I can even start on the FE gifts.
It would be a totally different gift for 30 vs 60!

Straightening is a "procedure" for me but can last a few days at home so can be worth it tinewise; and is handy when I travel for work... But thinking all that stuff can stay home. I might have to sport a ball cap with my formal tho! Or lots of Bobby pins!

I see the salon offers a blow out; wonder how that works?

My mom did a blow out a few times on the cruise last year, for formal nights and stuff. She was very happy with it and it did look wonderful.

Do any of you with curly hair attempt to straighten? I like to when I get dressed up sometimes, but wondering if I'm just waisting space in my suitcase b/c hair will frizz immed. b/c of humidity? I'm thinking I am silly for even considering trying to flat iron my hair on a cruise. Any experience?

A flat iron would not be a waste of space My daughters use theirs all the time, and their hair does not frizz!

I saw from a previous post that some of of you are bringing on soft sided coolers with beer, etc. Is Disney OK with this? Will they allow you to bring liquor on so blatenly? We are used to smuggling it on (probably most of the fun) with other cruise lines. We did the Disney Mediterranean cruise several years back and did bring on beer from our stops with no problems.

It looks like we were posting at the same time Lori! Congrats on your finds! I would go but dh is in France this week and there's no way the kids would want to go out, they're freezing too.

Disney is ok with it as long as you bring it aboard in your carry on- not in your checked luggage. They are the only cruise line (I believe) that allows it. We have a small wheeled roll-aboard suitcase that DH hauls wine, port, liquor in. If you bring a cooler DO NOT put ice in it!

I can't wait for the doc's to arrive!

But at the same time I am nervious. I don't wait the surprise to be ruined, by the docs arrival. Our UPS truck usually comes while I am on my long drive to pick up my DD after school. My oldest children will come home and find them. I might have to come up with a very creative story... about ordering something from DCL... for Dad for Christmas. Still trying to keep it a surprise until Dec 15th... DD's 11th Birthday!

Since the Ursula machine retired and they switched to the new document format ours have been coming regular mail- both when we were in New Orleans and now here, in Orlando.

The Disney store had little girl's dresses (Cinderella, Tiana, Snow White, Tink, Belle) 40% around Halloween, well I figured that if I waited till after Halloween they might go even cheaper.

No such luck! they are back to full price and the lady working there said they probably won't go on sale again before the cruise. Ugh!

I guess that's what you get for trying to beat the system!

Cracking up!!! And a full ship! We will drink and be merry. Anyone else like the Jose Cuervo Gold premixed margaritas? I am considering bringing a few bottles. Can I get ice in my big cup on deck 9? Or are the soda fountains set up so I can't fit the big cups in them? I was hoping to use them for soda too. 24 oz'rs???

You should be fine getting ice. I have a lime green sports bottle kind of thingie that probably holds 32oz or more and it fits fine for ice AND soda!

So when you see me sneaking through there with Malibu already in there trying to add the ice and diet coke before heading to the pool...
