Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

Hi everyone!

I've been lurking on this thread for a long time now. We finally booked our cruise yesterday!!!!!! It will be me, DH and DD1 (20) and DD2 (17).

If you look at my signature line, you'll see we are big fans of cruising and of DCL. Our last DCL cruise was last year's Christmas cruise on the Magic. We sailed to the Eastern Caribbean on the Emerald Princess this past August. I think that if we keep this up, we'll be able to apply for resident status on both St. Martin and St. Thomas.

We're beach lovers and we like to mostly do our own thing in the different ports, but I'm strongly considering booking an excursion in Guadaloupe or Martinique. From what I've been able to find out here and on Cruise Critic, there doesn't seem to be too much information on what to do or much infrastructure in place at the islands to make moving around easy.

Well ... just thought I'd come out of the shadows and introduce myself.

Here's the info I have on the private wine tasting. Right now I am trying to book this for Monday, Dec 20th around 2pm. I am going to ask concierge to not book it when there might be another event going on so the date might change to the 19th or the 27th. For everyone on my list below I will need names, reservation numbers, and cabin numbers - you can PM these to me. 3prinessmommy and
3princessgrandma I already have your names and res numbers, I just need cabin numbers.(not sure why concierge can't get this off of the reservation number)

I think you can start booking at midnight but the last time we tried they were having issues so I can't confirm this. I still have to take care of an excursion for my Dad so I will stay up and see if I can get it done.

Hello Almagetty! So excited that so many who have done holiday cruises just keep coming back!

I looked at the holiday cruises for 2011 and it looks like they are not stopping at 'special' islands next year.

When I book mine at the 120 day mark...I could not login at mid-might. I had to wait until the next morning.

I think it's midnight Eastern time. I know the Gold members at the 105 day mark had some trouble getting the system to work - that could make for a frustrating night. But it's certainly possible for some more excursions to fill up. You'd probably be alright waiting until morning... but there is some risk if there is an excursion you really want. My guess is that many people on a Christmas cruise like this have already done a DCL cruise in the past. So I'm guessing a lot of people will be eligible to book tonight.

Oh, I am so jealous! My DH and I keep looking at other cruise lines...but keep coming back to Disney. We figure th kids are going to leave home some day and then we will be trying out ALL the other cruise line. Right know we have plans to do a "Trip Around the World" when our last DD (10) goes off to college. Christmas onboard last year was truly "magical". Leave it to Disney to sprinkle a little pixie dust on an already special day! We've also done three Thanksgiving cruises on the Magic.

We love that this is a longer cruise calling on some different islands. We have been to Barbados once before and it has some really spectacular beaches. This time, I think, we'll be heading to spend the day at Accra Beach. Guadeloupe and Martinique are new to us.

We just emailed our TA to book us on this cruise! We did the Wonder for Christmas last year and had a great time.

I'll head back and try to catch up to see what we've missed. I know we're interested in the FE and saw to PM someone.....is there a cut off date for that?
