Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

Wow! I can't keep up. Two days away and a few dozen posts later.

Congrats to everyone who received their docs. We are still waiting on ours to be forwarded from our TA.

StLucieLady---I love your costume!!!!

We also booked the couples massage. First time so I'm glad everyone's feedback is positive.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend.

Because we won't be at home for christmas (obviously lol) it means we'll miss the family tradition of our advent calendars. We have five, one for each member of the family however we take it in turns to open on i.e i'll do the playmobile one, whilst sister does another on then we swap the next day. (None of them are chocolate).

However mum (pooh's pals) had the idea of using the advents calendars as a countdown to the cruise. We leave on the 12th December to spend 5 days in Disney before cruising (we'll be doing MVMCP on the 14th).

Anyway long story short, here is a picture of one of our advent calendars (disneyfied) the mickey was taken out of brother's disney hero/villain chess set.

Each day someone takes one of the number slats out of the chimney and after three mickey falls down the chimney when mickey is at the bottom it means holiday time! :D

Here is a link encase the picture hasn't worked http://s48.photobucket.com/albums/f245/nazzyjayne/?action=view&current=Countdown_to_Cruise.jpg

I did that idea too, 'cept a lil different. Was on the Disney Store website last week and found a Christmas pin with Stitch (my D sister's fave character) on it that can count down the days to Christmas as well. Right now we're using it for coutning down to the cruise, once we get on board, we're gonna get it back to how many days til Christmas.

Hi - meant to ask - where is Terceira Island?
Liz
:santa:

Hi Liz,

Terceira is located in the Azores. The Azores is a group of nine islands way out in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, and is owned by Portugal. My husband works for the government and we live in a small American community on a Portuguese military base. We have been here for almost 5 years, and it looks like we will be extended for another year. We do without a lot of conveniences, but it is really laid back and is a very safe place for our girls.

The island is very small so we feel the need to get away a few times a year. We can barely wait for our trip to begin. Can't wait to shop at a mall, go to Wal-Mart, eat fast food, and best of all, Disney, the cruise and meeting new DIS friends!

See you soon!

Someone mentioned a while back about present wrapping on the cruise, and I am wondering if I should bring wrapping supplies with me, or do they wrap items that you might buy in ports along the way?

Hi JO!

Gosh wouldn't it be great to celebrate every birthday on a Disney Cruise especially on an 11 day one . We have been booked for about 6 weeks now after making the decision between the cruise and a resort. Thank god for the Florida Resident Rate! It helped us get a CAT 5 so we were very happy about that! :cheer2: I think the Disney Discounts would make it finanically sound for alot of Dis'ers to move to Florida :cool1::cool1::cool1:. All jokes aside though we are very happy to be able to go on this cruise especially after joining this board! I am probably going to pack some of the sea-bands too...we can never have enough motion sickness meds!!!:thumbsup2 I'm lucky that I am an OB nurse because most morning sickness meds help with motion sickness. I admit during both my pregnancies I was lucky enough to have morning sickness 24/7 so hopefully it was good practice for this cruise!

Ok I feel like I have blown up the board since yesterday. I had some free time and thought I may as well get to know people on here. My husband has been telling me to log on for weeks....guess he was right that I should have :rolleyes1

Is anyone doing the MVMCP on December 16? We had thought about doing it on the 17th but I guess there are no advance purchase tickets for that night. So I think we are going to go on the 16th since we can purchase tickets online in advance. With a 3 yr old and a 10 mth old I don't think we want to run the risk of not being able to get tickets on the 17th if we wait until then!

Christie

We are doing the MVMCP on December 16 and 17. We bought our tickets as soon as they went on sale.

See Ya Real Soon.

They do have a villains' party now - but on our last cruise there was no one dressed up. But to be fair, it was the Baltic cruise, and I know everyone was cutting their usual packing due to the European travel required.

I don't know on regular cruises how much folks dress up for this event.

Is MVMCP worth doing twice? Now I'm wondering whether it's worth missing Fantasmic! on the 17th (our HS day) to do the party again, in case we miss things first time round. Is anyone else doing it twice or has done it twice? Thoughts? Advice? Thank you

If you have never seen Fantasmic then I would definitely go to that one night and then the MVMCP the other night. Having done the MVMCP several times, you can certainly take it all in, soak up the atmosphere and still have time to hit some rides. Plus while at Hollywood Studios, you can also hit the Osborne Family Light Show.

My middle DS turns 7 today and we are surprising him with a trip to MMVCP this Friday night. This boy loves himself some holidays and Christmas tops the list for him. Normally, we go in December but since our tree is up already and we will be in full blown cruise mode by then, we decided to go early this year.

Lori,

I would love to have 1 prince and 1 princess one if you really don't mind.
Thank you so much for offering.

Same observation on the Aug 7 Med cruise......again, not sure if it was b/c of the LONG days in ports and luggage limits?

It would be fun, but I don't plan on ANOTHER costume night right now...
:hippie: :wizard: :santa: :bride: pirate: princess: :littleangel: :rotfl:
How many suitcases am I allowed.....? :lmao:

What kinds of things do people wear for villians night? Anyone know what day of the cruise it normally is? I can't believe how quickly the cruise is coming. I feel like i have accomplished alot in terms of Christmas...lots of wrapping etc but not nearly enough packing! I have booked some excursions but am having second thoughts . Anyone ever winged it before on that? Are there normally lots of excursions to choose from once you board? Would we be bored if we totally ditched excursions?
