As I research photos for the Epcot sequel I keep finding Magic Kingdom shots I have never seen before..so expect that I will update WDW "Beginnings" now and then and replace the youtube version with the new link.

That was brilliant!!! 20,000 leagues under the sea was my favourite ride on our first visit.

And also enjoyed the super cool cars in the car parks...brought back memories of the first car I rented when we first visited America from England...an Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra....made me feel like so cool!!!

Apologies for hijacking your thread but as you're into the history you might be able to help me. I'm looking for a photo of RCMP from when Epcot opened. My friend's husband was one of the officers there and I would love to see the photo - he was told that the photo is somewhere in the park but he doesn't know where.

Any ideas??

I am often surprised how few photos or videos there are on the Net of the building of the parks or overall resort.

Thanks for the video! My DH and I went in 1972 and I thought it was so great seeing the little new planted topiaries, specifically Dumbo on the drive into the park. Also the Contemporary looked so different than any other hotel I had ever seen. After seeing the show Mickey Mouse Review and all of MK, I was hooked!!

Just watched the first video - will watch Epcot one next. Just wanted to say thanks and it was really awesome. It's awesome to see how they started from scratch and made what we see today - it's truly amazing. I had to pause it a few times to figure out what attraction they were building, or just to be amazed at how something looked back then and how different it looks now - i.e. the tomorrowland speedway - wow. Great compilation of pics!

Very cool video. I haven't watched the Epcot one but that one brings back memories. I grew up going to Disney since it opened. Even have some 8mm my dad took back then converted to DVD so I could show my hubby the skyway.

Of course I have an original MK map framed on the wall behind me that my mom saved from back then.

You have inspired to get all the hundreds and hundreds of slides from the pictures my dad took there every year converted to DVD.

Will have to check out the Epcot one now.



Just checked out the Epcot one and thought it was well done as well (although I didn't see any flamingos. ).

I grew up going to Disney since it opened. Even have some 8mm my dad took back then converted to DVD so I could show my hubby the skyway.

You made me think of our first trip - it was actually before WDW opened. My dad was one of the engineers on the infrastructure project, not a large role but enough to where my brother and I as kids got a sneak peak at the utilidors before the park opened. I remember standing under the Hall of Presidents section and being fascinated as a kid at the technology. I so wish I had a camera or 8mm back then, of course at the time I didn't appreciate how pictures or even movies of something like that would have been so important 40 something years later.

Thanks for those videos! I was living in Winter Park back when the Magic Kingdom opened. Sometimes I wish I was still there! I love how you can see so much concrete in the parks…not people They look so empty :good vibes and thats my favorite way to tour the parks
