Magic Bands

Hi,

I'm a newbie, I hope I'm posting in the right spot!

We currently have a package booked for May thru a TA for WDW.

We are now toying with the idea of renting points thru DVC & buying tickets separate. Would we still be able to get the Magic Bands?

Would we have to buy our tickets directly through Disney (when we get there?) or is there a way to buy them elsewhere online and still have the ability to use the magic bands for everything (room, tickets, FP, etc.)

You get Magic Bands if you're staying on property; it doesn't matter if you're staying on points versus a regular reservation. It also doesn't matter how (or when) you buy tickets, however, you would need to buy tickets ahead of time in order to book FP+ before you get there; otherwise, you would have to wait until you enter the park each day.

staying on property will get you a reservation number which you then link to your MDE account which then allows you to get your magic bands.

Purchasing your park passes(where ever you want to buy them) will get you your ticket number which you can then link into your MDE account and thus allow you to book your FP+.

Therefore, it does not matter where you purchase your tickets...you just need the number on the ticket so you can link it to your MDE account.

You can order tickets online from places line undercovertourtist, mapleleaftickts and a few other ones. You can also try through AAA if you are a member or airmiles etc...

you just link them to your MDE account once you get them(make sure they send actual tickets and not vouchers)
