Magic Bands

Please excuse my stupidity but when so you actually get your magic bands? Is it when you get there? MDE linked this morn (yay!) and I can see my resort reservation and tickets on desktop version (just resort details on iPod app version) and it says I have to link my magic bands, PhotoPass and dining reservations. Am assuming last two at least are nearer the time but just wondered if there was something I had to do or if I got them on check in or what happened?? Also, I'm told FP+ will apply with our hols being 2014 but do they link automatically with your tickets or is that something else I have to do. Have tried finding answers on Disney site but it just tells me what each thing is and not if I have to do anything. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I'm just getting completely confused with it. Sorry to ask with it being SO far away but am ALWAYS paranoid about these things.

You will have to link your tickets to the reservation first, then you should be able choose your magic bands, you won't actually get them until check in but you can choose the colour and name on them. You can't choose your fastpasses until 60 days before you go.

The tickets are already linked on the desktop version so might need to phone WDTC and find out?? :confused :sad

The Disney site is not telling you to do anything because

1. You don't have to do anything at this time
2. When you do have to do anything you will be notified in the app
3. FP+ is still in 'testing' phase so what applies now may not necessarily apply when you reach that stage before your trip. Timescales are subject to change as well

Once you get closer there will be a 'customise magic bands' option that will appear. Currently this isn't until about 2-3 months before check in.

They are not posting the bands to the Uk - you will collect them at check in.

The tickets are automatically linked when you book a package with WDTC

Which booking is this for?

Is this for the Yacht Club or for the Grand Floridian trip? If you open each of them you will see the same: The tickets do not show on the app. You can see them on the desktop version. This is consistent with how everyone's package reservations are displaying

It's for our trip to YC. Will learn off that one for the trip to GF. THANKS for ALL your help though! Thought it was just me! :relieved!
