We are going for 10 days in august and spending 1 night at sarotoga spring, 2 at grand floridian and 6 at boardwalk.
1.How will magic bands work in this case?
2.Will we get 3 sets?
3.We are planning on doing table service dining plan when at sarotoga, no dining plan at grand floridian and quick service at boardwalk how would that work if we have 1 set of magicbands?

I a in a somewhat similar situation...we are doing a split stay in Aug. (AKV & BWV). First...we will be getting Magic Bands for both resort stays (2 sets each). Plus we will be getting magic bands for APs.

My plan is to go down with one magic band each and AP vouchers. When I check in to AK I am assuming my magic band will be activated for my room key and charging privileges. The I have to activate my APs at a ticket booth and I am assuming when I do that they too will be added to our magic bands. Right now my APS are linked to MDE for FP+ selections but I still need to activate them.

When I check in to AKV I will ask about the split stay...my hope is that when I check out of AKV - my park tickets, charging privileges and FP+ will remain on my Magic Band and when I check into BWV they just need to add the room key access to magic band. We are not planning to get a food plan, but if we did I assume that would remain on the band like the park tickets, etc.

Since magic bands can be re-used I do not think is necessary to bring down more than one set of Magic Bands unless you want to color coordinate them with your outfit. I also am not overly concerned as I figure it will be explained and taken care of when I check in at AKV.

I just finished a split stay with multiple MBs in my account, so I have recent experience with this. You're going to get a set of MBs for each resort stay. At least, that is the way things are as of today. Anything is bound to change in the future.

All of those MB will work identically, unless they are somehow tied to different MDE accounts. I happen to have 2 MDE accounts because of different DVC accounts, so those MBs are different from each other. I have to keep track of the which bands belong to which account and have to make sure that any reservations that I make for a trip are linked all under the same MDE account. Your MB for SSR will work at GF and also at BWI. The same holds true for the other MBs. The information is stored in your MDE account. The MB is just a "key" to that account.

Using the MBs will be the same as using your KTTW card when it comes to using the dining plans. Nothing has changed except for needing to enter a PIN number when using the tap-to-pay feature. You can set the PIN up when you do online check-in or do it when you check in at the resort. Since your 3 sets of MBs will all reference your account, you can choose to use any of them when you pay for your dining.
