Hi everyone,
I saw a post on this from a year ago but a lot can change in a year. Has anyone recently had success putting different credit cards on the same room for different adults staying together?
I am headed down in a few weeks and have 3 adults in the same suite that want to have charging on their own magic bands.
TIA

When we went in August we tried this but it didn't work. :(

My older brother came with us and he waited until we arrived to link his credit card to his band. We were told at check after he gave them his card that everything was set for his charges on his band to go to his card and the rest of us to our card (4 other bands for our immediate family).

On check out we received the invoice of charges and realized all of his charges were put on our credit card.

For him it wasn't a big deal and he just paid us back but it did mean we had to sit down with the invoice and add up his charges (they were clearly marked at least).

Since then I have read if this happens all you need to do is go to the front desk at the resort you are staying at and the CM can switch the charges to the proper card. That obviously requires taking time to go down and deal with this and defeats the purpose of setting it up to be on a separate card in the first place.

That has been almost 6 months so maybe they have it fixed by now. :)

We did it with no problem at all in May. We had 4 adults, 2 on each card and everything was charged correctly!

anyone else have recent experience?

We are going with another family...4 in one family and 3 in the other

Just got back. We had 8 adults on the same 2 bedroom reservation. They linked each persons magic bands to different credit cards and it worked perfectly.

I won't do it because it has never worked anytime I have tried it. No matter what they said to us when it was set up, in the end everything was still charged to one card.

If you try it, then you should have them run the bill at least once before check out to make sure the charging has been set up correctly. After you have checked out then it is too late to have it corrected.

We did it on our April trip and had no issues at all. 2 families, 2 cards, 1 room

My mom and I went this past November and we just went to the front desk of our hotel and were able to designate our own credit cards to our Magic Bands. Easy Peasy!

We did this last April at CR and most recently over New Years at Boardwalk without issue. Both times was my sister and brother in law on one ccd and myself and my 2 dd's on my ccd.

Are you able to link your Disney Rewards card to your band? What about Disney gift cards?

I'm assuming you can only link 1 card per band?

You can't link Disney Reward Cards or gift cards. All the band can do is charge back to your room account. You can pay off your room account with either the Awards card or the gift card, but you should do it before your room account reaches the amount that will automatically be charged to your credit card, or before check-out day, whichever comes first.

can we say we only want a limit on one of the bands, say a kids band can not spend over 100 bucks?

We did it in May, August and December. Best advice I can give is stop at the front desk on Day 2 to check the folios to see if the correct charges are going to the correct accounts. It's a lot easier to untangle a day's worth of charges than a week's worth.

Did this in October with 4 adults -- 2 each on 2 cards. Worked out perfectly, we had no issues. It only took some extra time at check-in to set up.

Just returned...checked on day 2 and it was not correct...took 2 minutes to correct and was fine after that.
Great advice everyone. Thank you.

Just got back and we successfully added 2 credit cards to our account. We had 2 families in a 2 bdr villa. I wish we could have set it up online and avoid the 15 minute transaction at the desk but it worked out. We were also able to put spending limits on each kid's band. Whatever you wanted. :dogdance:

So glad to hear more people have had success with this -- we're going in a few months and will have 4 adults and 3 different cards. Hope it works for us, but I'll know to double check the next day!

Perfect, we will have the same scenario this summer so I'm glad to hear this. When you say you're able to set spending limits, what does that mean? Daily limits like $100, per transaction limits, total spending limit ... Please advise
