Magic Bands link to AP?

On our last trip we purchased AP's. We had the voucher which we used at home and booked our FP+ and when we exchanged our voucher they linked our magic bands. We have our magic bands we received once we got home which are our AP ones.

We are leaving for WDW soon and just received our magic bands for our upcoming stay, as they were the magic bands tied to our room only reservation. We want to use those magic bands as they will best match our outfits for the trip. Since everything is done through MDE and they see we have AP's, are our AP's automatically tied to our room only magic bands we just received? Or, do I need to go in and do something special in MDE to get the tickets onto them?

I didn't have to do anything special. On my last trip, I also received a magic band with a room only reservation. As long as your magic band is linked to your MDE account, and your annual pass is also linked to your MDE account, then it should work.

It turns out that the magic bands don't actually have any tickets or rooms loaded onto them. They just access whatever entitlements/reservations are on your MDE account.

as long as your AP is linked to your MDE and your magic bands are linked to your MDE you can use whichever magic bands you want. they can be used interchangeably.
