Magic Bands info for the new test dates in August

My MagicBands just arrived! They are nicely packaged in a box with everyone's name below their band.

The only email I had previously received was one I got two days ago saying they shipped. But the letter (in a separate envelope than the bands) DOES say that we are invited to help test MyMagic+.

So I don't think you need to worry about an email invitation. Once you receive your bands and this letter, you know you're part of the test.

I can't quite read the letter. Does it say anything about using regular fastpass at the same time?

I'm glad they made these so they adjust correctly. I have tiny wrist so need to pull the tab part apart.

Even though I have not received any email (or snail mail) about being in the Magic Band test group next month, I was able to link Magic Bands to our APs, customize them and select FP+ options. UPS just dropped off the Magic Bands, so we'll see how this all works when we get to the YC in just over 3 weeks!

Unless you live outside of the US your magic bands are shipped to the resort.

I think you have it backwards (or I read your post wrong) but they are shipped to the resort If you live OUTSIDE the US.

I want to say the day after the customizing part fell off they shipped ups next day. Mine officially shipped out the 19th.

Argh! So mine should ship TODAY, but no email yet. What does it MEAN? I am going to go bonkers.

Nope, it just says:

"As a tester, you get to try our NEW MagicBand. This cool and colorful wristband is an all-in-one accessory that connects you to all of the selections you've made. You can use the MagicBand to:

Enter your Disney Resort hotel room with just a touch.
Enter the WDW Parks (valid Park admission required).
Access the FP+ attractions and shows you've selected.
Purchase food and merchandise at select locations.

And, test our new FP+ service to reserve access to select attractions and shows before you leave home. During this test, with the NEW Disney FP+ service, you can reserve assess to select attractions and shows in advance."

No more details than we knew already, but I'm glad it actually says we're officially part of the test. It also says they want us to tell them what we think works and where they need to improve, so it sounds like they WILL be asking for feedback at some point.

I never received an email, but customized my magic bands and scheduled fp+. My magic bands just arrived at my house today for our trip in 20 days. Are they not going to work because I didn't get an email? I'm staying at Pop.

I am in the same situation; never received an e-mail but was prompted to customize Magic Bands and make FP+ selections. Regarding not receiving an e-mail; some people have said that if you didn't get an e-mail you aren't eligibile so I called to ask for myself two days ago. I was told that I AM eligible and that if you are allowed to customize the Magic Bands and make FP+ selections you are eligible regardless of whether or not you received an e-mail.

I've read from others that the e-mail is sent around 17 days out so this may be a timing issue since the customizations to the Magic Bands need to be made around 30 days out. I brought this up with the lady I spoke to and she agreed with me that the timing doesn't make since if that is in fact the timing (she couldn't confirm it though).

BTW, are trip is in just under four weeks away and we're staying at CR. I was under the impression from the person I spoke to that we are eligible because of where we are staying and the dates of our stay which leads me to believe it isn't limited to just some guests in the test resorts but all of the guests in those resorts.

If you received an official email to test or if you simply went on the website to customize and order your bands, did you do online check in or not??

I'm curious to see if doing online checkin or not makes a difference in terms of being eligible for the test.

I did do online check-in and I have not received an e-mail (except for the one stating our Magic Bands have shipped).

We're exactly 17 days out today, and the letter and the bands came at the same time (separate packages, though). So maybe the "17-day Rule" is spot-on.

No, I hadn't done online check-in when I was first allowed to customize bands and make FP+ reservations.

Well just again it proves that CM / Disney has no idea or changes this as it goes along.

It also indicates that nearly everyone staying at the four resorts are eligible. Could be a big test.
