magic bands at the airport - take them off to go through security?

I think the safe takeaway from this is that you do whatever TSA tells you to do, and pay no attention to what we say here.

Or drive. Then you can wear your magicbands, keep your belt and shoes on, and stuff your pockets with pocketknives, 5 oz bottles of shampoo, and all the bottled water you can carry without fear of being dragged into secondary.

when we got to MCO last week to fly back home I forgot to put off my MagicBand as well as my watch when we came to security.

I stepped into the body scanner and realized that I am still wearing both. Started to take the MagicBand off first when someone of the security guys next to the scanner said: "It is OK!"
It seemed like he knew what I was wearing.

I got scanned and everything was fine.

When I was flying home from MCO a few weeks ago, I forgot to remove my wristwatch. As I got to the TSA person, to go through the scanner, I just went 'oops, forgot to take it off' and started to remove it. He told me to keep it on, not to put it in my pocket! Now, it was no issue going through the scanner. I have to wonder if it was because it's titanium. I always forget I have it on due to it's extreme lightness!!

Was it a walk through metal detector or one of the newer machines that look through your clothing? If it was the latter, it would not alarm on metal.

I even take off my belt at the risk of my pants falling down walking through the scanner.

To avoid taking off my belt and to keep my trousers from falling down, I got myself a belt with plastic buckle and fittings.

When I last flew (Labor Day weekend), I forgot to take my watch off coming & going. I went through the full body scanner and the TSA officer on the other side felt around my watch/looked under it. No problem.

If you have hardware from surgery in the neck ACDF, I guess they know what it is by appearance, and your neck is not concealed, as with a visible Mickey band. It's what in your pocket or concealed that is suspect. The bongs will not go off because of the covering.

I had a cami strap top on, it was the tiny metal stapes over the shoulder they pat down so they could identify the foreign artifact on my body.
When I looked back at the body scan image outline the hot spots near my shoulders were identified.
No audible went off, it just highlighted what needed to be further inspected.
