Magic Bands are live on DME!

I'm having a lot of trouble with DME. I log in and go to link my resort reservation and it tells me it belongs to me! In other words, my same name. I spent an hour on the phone last week with IT who told me that I have 2 accounts with the same user name, same email and same password. She told me that they were now linked together so that I 'should' be able to link reservation, etc. Also said that she couldn't close one of the accounts since I have a current resort reservation.

I'm still having the same problem. Fortunately my trip isn't until the end of Sept so I have time to get it straightened out. But it is a pain to have to call and spend time on the phone to get it done.

I had that problem too. I changed one of my accounts (the one I don't want to use anymore - but it still has things I need on it) to different email and password. At least that way I can keep them straight.

The IT person helped me link everything by "friending" myself and sharing plans. This has happened to a lot if people. It why some reservations appear to disappear, appear, and wander around.
 
Ok, we called and the Disney Tech was able to link the CM reservation to the My disney experience. I was able to make fp reservations for 3 attractions + Pirates for the day I picked. I could not do any for my son who is a CM as CM cannot use FP+ system yet. I also could not do my other son as they did not fix his link yet from the reservation system to the my disney experience system to link his fp+. I'll deal with that tomorrow.

do you have actual tickets or are you going in on your sons main gate? if main gate what number did you actually call so you could pick fast pass? my daughter got the actual email so I don't have any numbers thanks

Yeah, that is a good question. From what I can tell, you can't book FP+ ahead of time if there isn't a ticket/AP attached, at least so far... but with all of the conflicting information, misinformation, conjecture and lack of facts... who knows. Maybe down the road, especially if there is a resort reservation in the system you might be able to, but, again, that's just a guess. Haha.

I've been lurking in this post because I'm in the same boat as a lot of you- I never received an email but could customize MBs and schedule FP+s in MDE (we are staying at POP 8/20-8/25 and AKL 8/25-8/28 so we hit two test resorts), so I registered to say this: I got a UPS shipping confirmation last night! Our MBs are already out for delivery this morning. Hopefully everyone will have the same result I did!

I never even received a shipping notice- they just arrived at my door lol.

It will be interesting to find out on 8/1 if those of us who got the MBs but no confirmation letter/e-mail will be able to use all of those FP+s we scheduled. :)

Not going to sweat it if we can't, it just means we go back to our original plans, but it would be nice if we are able to use them! It would add a bit more pixiedust: to the trip. :goodvibes

That was the exact issue I was having, two email address for myself and one of my sons. It took a full day, at least 6 phone calls and a ton of emails to get it sorted out. They did. My son, who has a computer science degree figured it out half way through the process for them :lmao: The way he did it was pick a different character icon from the plan gray mickey to one that is assigned to you to one of the other characters. If then you are not seeing THAT icon when you try and log in and do something you know it is because the information it is picking up is taking it from a different email address.

Of cause now for a reason I cann't figure out for the life of me is two different pacages of magic bands are being sent -- one with 4 in it; and one with 2 :rotfl2: What I did there was made a slightly different name customization on the one with 2 so that I could tell the difference and see if they both work or what the story is.

You should be able to. If you go to Manage Your Band on the MDE website, and click on one of your bands, the next page has this at the bottom:

"Your MagicBand will serve as your Disney’s Magical Express "ticket" and Disney Resort hotel room "key." Be sure to pack your MagicBand in a carry-on bag so you'll have it available upon arrival."

Of course, we should all probably have our vouchers with us in case it's not working as planned. ;)
 
Are you also at one of the four resorts being mentioned as the "test" resorts? Just curious if there are other guests at other resorts that have been selected, and hoping that answer (for us) is yes.

We're at POP. Despite IT saying not everyone was participating - we have 4 "families" on 3 different types of reservations and all of us are testing. Between us, there are 2 packages, 1 RO, and 1 Military RO, and we've all received our MagicBands and invitations to participate.

It's still being tested, but if you are staying at AKL, CR, YC, or POP in August, and are eligible for the test, you'll be notified.

You can log in to the My Disney Experience section of the WDW website and see if it prompts you to customize your bands.

It's unknown when it will rollout for all guests.

Some are even getting them without doing anything..
 
We are staying at Beach Club in Dec, guess we aren't eligible yet.

Don't be surprised if this isn't rolled out in some way going live by then. Rumors are by FW. On this big test they aren't even going to do follow ups with the testers. That right there tells you the train is about to leave the station..
 
I got my bands today and called Disney. They said I could reserve the FPs closer to my travel dates and also use the UT paper tickets I bought in the FP machines as a regular FP is used. They linked my UT tickets to my room only reservation. I only look on these boards when I have a trip planned and didn't know anything about magic bands or the online MDE so I'm glad I found out! I have no idea how this will work out in reality but I'm game to try!
 
I doubt it. I would keep the vouchers and be ready for them to scan them when you get to the ME area....

I stand corrected! :thumbsup2:) Looks like you probably can use them... as long as the area at the airport is already setup for Magic Bands.
