Magic Bands 101

I have not read through the entire thread, but where exactly does it say to personalize your MBs on MDE? I see that you can verify your address, but not where to customize? We still have a while, so maybe I am just too early. Just getting excited!

After you verify, you should be able to customize.

I read somewhere that you can get themed MB, i.e. princesses, Potc, etc...where do you get those...I was only to pick color and put names on ours:confused3

When you customize your bands you choose the colour and name, but that's it. You can purchase sliders and different "bling" for your MB's at the gift shops once you arrive.

Those are accessories you have to buy at Disney. They have covers, sliders and little snap-on button-like figures for the bands.

Nope. Just colors and names. At WDW, you can buy covers and bandits.

Question: if I have a magic band from a previous stay and I have a four day park ticket, can I link that to my MB and make fast pass selections? Or is that only for on site and annual pass holders?

Please help me to understand how this will work. End of May, we arrive late in evening, staying at an onsite resort for 1 night. The next day, we move to another onsite resort for a 3 night stay. That day will also be our first park day. On our check out day, we'll spend the day in the park, and then are driving to Cape Canaveral to stay the night. The next morning, we're going on a 4 night Disney cruise. When we get off the ship, we're heading back to WDW for a 4 night stay at our last onsite resort.

I've set up my MDE account, and all 3 reservations for our resorts are in there. ( 1 night, 3 nights, and 4 nights.) I plan to purchase 8 day park hopper tkts from UT. We'll be using 4 park days before the cruise, and 4 park days after the cruise. Because of the cruise, there will be a 4 day period without any park days.

How will all this work with being able to get our FP+'s? Will we be able to set them all up at the same time? Is it going to penalize us for having our trip broke up in to 3 resorts? On the 4 park days before the cruise, we'll be going only to HS & EP, while staying 3 nites at BWV. After the cruise, we're staying at BLT, and will be doing only MK & AK. We're going to want to select our FP+'s 60 days out. Will we be able to do so?

Only on site and AP

From what I have read of others' experiences, it sounds like you should be able to do what you want to, since you have enough admission ticket days and resort stay days to cover it all.

I've skimmed through and didn't see this asked, so please forgive me if it has been and I missed it. We will be traveling with a group of all adults (myself & husband, my mom, and my sister.) We'd prefer to each have our own credit card linked to our Magic Band so we aren't having to put all our charges on one person's card. Is this possible? If I recall in the past we haven't been able to put multiple cards on our room, but I wasn't sure with the MBs if that had changed. Thanks!! :goodvibes

It's still one credit card per room.

Yes and no. Yes, you can set up individual bands to charge to different cards, but there have been LOTS of reports of all the charges still ending up on one credit card, so you'll want to verify that doesn't happen prior to checkout.

If you make fast pass reservations for a certain day, when you get to the park can you get more fast passes or what rules kick in then?

but you know how when we used to go we could get a fast pass and then wait so long and get another.....can we get others that day in the park or just the 3 we have picked in advance?

The answer depends on many factors, including what resort you're staying in, if legacy FP is available in the park you visit when you visit, and the FP landscape at the time of your visit.

But with FP+ exclusively? No, 3 is the limit.
