Magic Bands 101

When I check in I can request a card for my door? And go pick up my AP (card) at Guest Services? And at my next resort request a card for my door again?

When I get to All Stars Mu will they hand me a MB or will I need to have the one with me they insist on sending me now?

If you choose not to customize your band, there will be a gray band with your name on it waiting at the resort for you. We saw quite a few guests with gray bands because they didn't bother to customize prior to their trip.

You will need to go to the Front Desk and have the CM apply your Rewards Dollars to your account. The same is true for Disney Giftcards.

REALLY???? Wow - that is great! So I can give my resort my Disney Gift Cards and my rewards dollars from Disney Visa and they will use all of that before using my credit card? That is pretty cool!

Just make sure you go to the Front Desk before the last day of your trip when they apply all your charges to the CC on record.

I know these questions might have been answered already, but I haven't seen them. Okay here are my questions about the Fastpasses for the Magic Bands.

1)You can only get 3 fastpasses each day. Now, what if your party wants to split up? I have a 3 year old and she won't want to go on some of the rides that the other riders in our party want to. Can I put certain fastpasses on each band?

2)What if I am at one park in the morning and then decide to go to another park in the evening? Can I use a fastpass at one people in the morning, then book the other 2 for another park in the evening? i.e. I would want a fastpass for Kilimanjaro at Animal Kingdom in the morning, but then might want to get some fastpasses for Magic Kingdom in the evening or even for Fantasmic that evening.

3) Can I get 2 fastpasses for the same attraction, but at different times in the day? My daughter and I enjoy Toy Story Mania and would like to ride it once with everyone and then when they go ride Rock N Roller Coaster or Tower of Terror, I would like to go on it again with her. Especially since she can't go on either of those attractions.

Thanks everyone and have a Merry Christmas!

Three attractions max, all in one park and with no repeats. Them's the unfortunate rules.

You can set different attractions for different people in your party.

HATE the feeling of the band. It is a hard plastic like a swatch watch band. I have been shoving the band in my pocket because I cant stand the feeling. That means one more thing to keep track of. Wish it was a soft plastic like the live strong bracelets.

So....Are the fast pass lines now LONGER than the regular lines????:confused3

Sometimes there is a line outside of the ride/attraction to scan your MB and some people perceive that there is a shorter wait in standby because of this. Once you scan your bands, the waits for FP are not any longer then before FP+.

Arggghhhhh - I found the answer to my question - Disney needs to really re-think this - on one of our days in WDW in Feb we are going to split parks because we will only be there for 3 days - and they will not let you split FP between parks -so very dumb - I only want one FP for the park in the morning - and 2 FP for the different park in the evening - I am saying a silent scream that this is something Disney should have thought of if they are giving you the option to park hop with their more expensive hopper tix - dumb dumb dumb

you have to use a credit card and use the gift cards to pay on the account as the week progresses. Please note that if you stay at a value the credit card will be charged as you are approaching the 500 mark. We then paid in gift cards and asked that they reverse the charge. VERY easy

if you go at rope drop there really is no reason to get a FP for the morning. Most of the rides were walk on. we made all FP for afternoon when lines were huge

At this time, only those who stay on property can get Magic Bands - to the best of my knowledge. I would love to be wrong as we are vacationing with family who is staying offsite, while we are staying on. As AP holders, once you've stayed on property - even for a night - you'll receive the bands and be able to use them any day after that for fast passes, even after your stay.

Does anybody know if you do a split stay if you can still use the days on the band by usin FP+ ?

Can you link Disney gift cards to your magicband instead of using your credit/debit card?

So Photopass+ can be tied to your MB? I was told that wasn't possible or maybe not until I get there. So I can link it to my MZb once there, will it link all bands or just mine?

I'm very unclear on the new magic bands. I'm under the impression that we only get 3 FP per day. My family park hops. We are accustomed to getting 6-10 FS's every day. To be limited to 3 per day is awful. What's the incentive to park hop? Am I missing something (I hope)?
