Magic Band selection at the parks

We all know there is rarely any decent selection of Magic Bands in the upgrade options, but there doesn't seem to be much selection on the Shop Disney website either (29 currently). When I check through the MDE app to see the selection at the parks, there is barely any there, either (when it's even working).

So my question is, really??? Is that it??? Or are there lots of options at the parks and Disney Springs that aren't listed on the app?

There are TONS of Magic Band options on property. My mom found her favorite one there and got some many comments from CMs because none of them had seen it. There are so many to pick from once you're ON property, I wasn't surprised. The down side is, you'll pay full price for them. Depending on what you're looking for, though, it could be worth it!

Yes there are more options but the selections vary from shop to shop an inventory fluctuates. The inventory on the shopdisney website changes quite often as well, but the two inventories aren't connected. I've seen good selections at the value resort gift shops as well as the gift shop in the middle of the contemporary. The one shop near spaceship earth always had a ton of options, but I don't know if that shop is still open with the construction.

After a month of trying, I was able to get 5 upgraded magic bands from the My Disney Experience. A Darth Vader, Jack Skellington (sp), two of the White Castles and a Fantasmic Mickey. I was shocked when the purchase went through. I was going to use ebay to buy bands but I saved myself over $60.00 this way. Keep trying.

The white castles...is that the Fantasyland MB? I saw that one on Instagram and I really want it. Can I ask how much it was on the app? I am eyeing them on eBay as well. I just ordered my son a BB8 one, since our upcoming trip is for his birthday specifically coming back for TSL and SWGE. If you were able to get the Fantasyland MB on the app I might have to stalk it. I just checked and for all the MB it's showing as in store only...

All of the bands we got were $10.00. I don't think the castle one is the Fantasyland band. This one show the castle and says Most Magical Place on Earth. People are asking between $65.00 to $99.00 on ebay. At $10.00 bucks it was a steal. lol. Although I really wanted a different character for my 13 year old (Got him the Jack one) you can have them engraved for free from the My Disney Experience and I was able to put his nickname on it.

There were lots of options in the one store on Main Street on the corner near the entrance (right hand side as you are heading towards the castle). I had to stop myself from picking up a few on our last trip since I knew we'd eventually get something even if it wasn't the exact one I wanted. I was finally able to get Sorcerer Mickey for DH and Jack and Sally for me last week. I really wanted Sorcerer Mickey for DH - I was less thrilled with mine but it's still good. I still have hopes for a Haunted Mansion one or Olaf. Last trip I was able to get the Halloween Mickey one for DH and the villains one for me. I still have another shot at it for next Feb so I'm going to hold off on buying any but it is hard to restrain yourself sometimes when you're in the store and there's all these cool ones not available for your resort stay. I will say that I was surprised at how few were available online - there's a lot more in the stores.

I was looking yesterday and they only ever had 15-16 choices. Today at around 10:43 they had 30 choices. A short time later it was down to 24 choices.

I look at :43 past the hour once or twice every day, and I've still never seen much. There have been times there were a few, but still not ones we really wanted or not all together. I should have got them the one day they had the new Toy Story 4 one and a Baymax one. I just really didn't like the black background on the Toy Story one. We're going ahead with ordering my son's Iron Man one from the online store, because I've never seen that one in MDE.

You probably should look more often. On Sunday they kept repeating the same 15-17 bands. Then today, there were a bunch more and I got what I wanted. I am looking for one more band and it seems very hard to get because it has been out forever.

I guess I just don't understand how people use the Disneyworld app to shop Disney parks merch. Literally everything is showing up as In Store only for me. I can see all the cool stuff, that's it...

Yes, as far as I know, it only shows it. I was just wondering if it was an accurate representation of all of the magic bands, but according to others here, it isn't. So I really don't know what the point of it is at all, lol.

Yes they've had a good selection yesterday and even better today, but neither time it allowed to me checkout, lol. Yesterday I was able to select them, but not complete the order. Today I couldn't even select them, and now the ones I wanted are gone. I can't believe how horrible Disney IT is. I know they have the money and expertise to have a good system, so for whatever reason, they simply don't want it to be a good system. They're cool with everyone being frustrated.
