Magic band resort question

Hi all! DH and I are taking mom down for our trip to BWV in Feb. We are buying our tickets and doing magic band customizing before we go, MOM won't be buying her tix until we get down there, either at Downtown Disney, or resort. My question is this: Is there a way for her to get the magic band when she buys her tix at either DD or resort?? I've heard a ton of different things, and really am hoping someone knows for sure. If she is on the reservation she should be able to get a mb now but she won't be able book FP+ until she has a ticket.

She can get her band at the front desk at the resort. Anyone without a MB gets them at the resort.

If she is on the reservation she should be able to get a mb now but she won't be able book FP+ until she has a ticket.

If you want to customize her MB, this is the better answer. You can choose color, put her name on the inside, etc -- just won't be able to make FP+ reservations for her. Of course, you won't be able to do FP+ reservations the other way either...so THIS is probably your best bet.
