We haven't been to WDW in 2 years so the whole FP+ / Magic Bands thing is new to us. We are staying at OKW for one week, followed by one week at BCV. We received two sets of Magic Bands in the mail. On the day we arrive, we have a late flight and will get to OKW about 8pm. We did the on-line checkin. We are going to Blizzard Beach the following morning.

Question 1: When we arrive at OKW, will the Magic Bands be linked to our room or do we need to do something?

Question 2: When we go to Guest Services at Blizzard Beach and exchange our PAP vouchers, do we get actual passes or do they just link the passes to our first set of Magic Bands?

Question 3: When we switch resorts, do we need to do something to switch our passes to the second set of Magic Bands?

Yes, the magic bands will be attached to your room at check-in. We were at OKW last week, and the CM checked our magic bands just to make sure they were properly linked. She was the only CM to have done this for us upon check-in.

When you get your actual AP's activated, they will give you a plastic RFID card to use for discounts.

Your tickets are linked to your My Disney Experience account, not your magic band. All magic bands that are successfully linked to your MDE account will work for opening your villa doors, for charging and to get into the theme parks.

Question 3: When we switch resorts, do we need to do something to switch our passes to the second set of Magic Bands?

Assuming the bands, reservations, and admissions are all linked to your MDE account correctly, either band can be used and are functionally identical. We went last August when they were testing the bands out at the Contemporary and then we went again in May. We got new bands for our May trip, so we all chose different colors than the first time. We used either set of bands interchangeably throughout the May trip with no issues. We could charge using either band as well.

The only problem we had with two resorts was we did not physically check of resort # 1 so there was some lag time with our bands. Easily fixed at check in at resort. #2.

My DH and I staying one night each at CSR and POR before and after our 5 night cruise. My account is trying to send me two sets if MBs, but when I spoke wit a cm when I called to have my reservations linked she said I didn't need to do both.

Is this true? Both reservations show up on my magic plus account which in my understanding is where the info actually comes from so j would think so.

Just confused because it's asking me to customize two sets.

You don't need to customize two sets of bands, but if you don't they will have gray bands for you at the front desk. They may even have your name on them.

Thanks! I went ahead and customized them. I liked the idea of putting what resort were staying at on the different bands to remember

It wasn't the bands, it was your MDE account still showed you as checked into the first resort.

I have two sets of bands sitting here waiting for our trip this week. We are staying at OKW 2 nights before VB and cruise and 1 night OKW after the cruise.

I think they should try to consolidate the number of bands. I did not realize I was ordering to sets. I thought. I had forgot to order them.:confused3

You don't need both. We recently had a 3 different resort stay and used the same bands through out our vacation. At each resort they gave us new bands, we didn't use them and experienced no problems.
