Magic Band Issue

We have our magic bands for our trip this week. For some reason on mde my daughters magic band has disappeared. I called tech support and they said they had to re issue her a new generic grey band and it would be at our resort. They said my daughter had a duplicate account and the customized one was associated with that one. I am pretty sure my 8 year old didn’t register for her own account. Do you think they can add her original magic band back when we check in. I am pretty sure she will be upset if she can’t use her customized band.
 
If you have the customized band, I would call back and have them try to link it to MDE. Is it possible that she has 2 profiles because both parents have separate accounts and she isn't shared as family? That happened with my nephew, both his mother and I had him on our accounts but not shared. Tech support was able to fix it.
 
I was under the impression you can link bands yourself, is that not the case? I haven't done it because they come pre linked but there is a link in MDE to link your own band. Such as if you buy a band in the park of a different color you go in and link it yourself.
 
One thing to check is to make sure the box titled "This friend often travels with me" is checked for your daughter. You can find it under the my friends and family link and then edit button. I had my daughter's ticket disappear and finally figured out that was the reason. When I checked the box it reappeared immediately.

If that does not work then I would just bring the magic band with you and ask when you check in if they can re-link it.
 

This is a side issue, but are you sure your 8 year old daughter does not have a separate account? Disney uses any pre-existing account as a base for MDE. If she has any Disney.com account for on-line games, movies, chat etc., then she does have a pre-existing account. When I first created my MDE account, almost everything was already set-up because of a pre-existing on-line Disney account made for a different purpose.

She may have a disney account on her ipad. I will check in to that. She doesn't know about the trip and the magic band was on there a couple of weeks ago. It even let us customize it. Not sure why it then link over to another account.
