Magic Band/FP for 2 yr. old

Hi! Heading to WDW in October. Have Magic Bands for family of 4 including 2 yr. old son. Since 2 yr. old does not have a park ticket, does he need FP reservations? Or does he just ride with us?

Also, when making FP reservations, will I need to reserve separately for each member of our party or will they be linked on My Disney Experience?

1- No FP needed.
2- Yes.
But, MBs are sent to even the babies, just to "keep peace" in the family.
The 2 yo's MB does not need to be scanned.
3- You can set up your MDE account to LINK all other members of your party
and then you can make the same FP+ for all at once.
(You can even, then, change certain FP+ for individuals who want something else.)

The 2 year old does not need their own FP. You make the FP reservations, you have option to select who you want to make FP for. One thing to consider if more than one of you is interested in any if the height restricted rides, you can use the baby swap and who ever rides second does not need a FP for that ride. At least that is how it worked in June. If Disney had nixed this loophole in the FP+ system, please feel free to correct me.

The baby isn't going to ride, for a child swap, so they do not need a FP+.

What is being "cracked down on" is the old scam of family of 5 (2A and 2C and 1 infant)
o family pulls 3 FPs (leaving 1 FP for something else)
o family goes to queue head gets child swap from CM
o 1A+2C enter fast pass queue and ride
o 1A (either same or different A) +2C return to FP and use the childswap

What they are now enforcing is on the second round the A needs a FP, the Child swap allows them to ride not alone.

Sorry, but this incorrect. The only exception to the FP queue rule is children 2yo and younger. They need nothing.

That's exactly what I said. All people who are going to ride by going through the FP+ line need a FP+. (I guess there may be 2-year-olds who are tall enough for the thrill rides so they wouldn't have a FP+ but would still ride, I was mentally excluding them because mine's a peanut and we're not even sure he'll be able to get on the Speedway. But in that case, they wouldn't be doing a baby swap.)

Given that many people recommend it, I assume it used to work (was unevenly enforced). Lately there is a crackdown.

I see what you're saying. jco's post is partially correct but is somewhat misleading since child swap was also discussed. Your post read by itself is also a bit confusing. Here's the real deal:

1. Everyone entering an FP queue must have FP, except for those 2yo and younger.

2. It does not matter if they intend to experience the attraction or not. There are now tons of attractions with FP that a 2yp can ride.

As for a crackdown in child-swap abuse, I haven't heard that, but it is not very pertinent to the 2yo MB question anyway--I think it's only confusing the OP's question.

I will have a 17 month old with us...I am wondering if it will be easier to get a FP+ for 2 or 3 of us versus 4 for Elsa & Anna (is all the 5 year old wants to do at Disney!)....but if baby is not napping I am sure she will want to come to come with big bro....

The baby does not need a FP+ and couldn't get one anyway since she won't have a ticket. She can go with anyone who does.
