magic band charges

ok so we are annual passholders and received our magic bands for the annual passes now we have a resort reservation and have designed/personalized even more magic bands. My niece is not an annual pass holder but we loaded her ticket in the MDE so it had us design her a magic band too. Now heres my question what happens if we end up in the end changing and staying offsite? Will they charge us for the magic bands shipped to us? Will they still work?

1. Unlikely, but who knows?

2. As tickets: They will certainly work.
As for the advance FP+ reservations, you can have up to 7 days of Park FP+ made in advance (at a time) if you are an AP holder.

Well checked by calling Disney and was told nope and all of them could still be used hmmm interesting
 
Any band that shows up as active and valid in your MDE account should be eligible to be used interchangeably. This is even stated on the "MagicBands and Cards" page on the MDE site.
Select a MagicBand or Card to Manage Its Status

All your MagicBands and cards can be used interchangeably as long as they’re active.
If it doesn't show up, you can try to add it to your account, and see if it lets your or if it complains about it being invalid or similar.

As far as charging your for the bands, hard to say. Robo's point would make sense, but you would need to cancel your booking after the 30 day point where the bands would have shipped. (Assuming it was a room only reservation) And if it was a package, or within the 5 day window where you would be charged a cancellation fee, they may just be letting the fee cover the cost of the bands.

now I wonder if we will loose our FP+ selections if we are within the 30 day offsite window when we cancel if they were made at the 60 day mark? or will we have to reselect our FP+ times
