Another poster indicated that a major focus of the dry dock will be working on the engines/engine room.
Its kind of funny I saw this thread. I follow a certain person on FB who is the head CD of a different line. He had this post this morn, that I saw right after I posted above. Apparently DCL is not the only line with issues:
"I saw one of the hard working crew this morning, Luis, one of our plumbers. He and his assistant were in the corridor on deck 1 as I headed forward from my cabin for my morning visit to the coffee shop. I have known Luis from the Miracle in Alaska and said a cheery hello. He told me that 10 cabins had no toilet flush for the last hour and he had discovered it was because someone in one of the cabins had flushed a ladies sanitary product which had blocked the suction system to the neighboring 10 cabins. Everything is working now and it had though taken Luis and the team an hour to repair the problem during which ( I checked) the guest services desk had received 7 comments from those 10 cabins about the toilet not working.
So one person flushing that ummmmmm……………..product……………resulted in all of this happening so I thought I would kindly remind everyone here that the suction toilet system is very complicated and please don’t flush anything down there except the toilet paper we provide. Sanitary bags are available in every cabin of course…………….thanks from me and a huge thank you from every plumber in the Carnival fleet.
I know wet wipes/ sanitary wipes/ are very popular and as far as I know you should not flush them either."
I'm just curious why does everyone always think that DCL will do something big every time a ship goes in dry dock. Yes they do occasionally but most of the time they don't up untill they added the glassed in area to the Wonder they had never really done anything major and then they added the Aqua Dink on the magic along with a few other things a couple years ago. So what happens if they don't do anything other then the mandated inspections?
I don't think they will do anything big this time, other than routine cleaning and maintenance. I think they are required to hold a dry dock every couple of years. I'm just curious to see if anything else is planned for the Magic. Somebody mentioned a concierge lounge, but there hasn't been any confirmation.
We're on the Transatlantic sailing leaving May 15!
What are the plumbing problems?
We booked a deluxe outside deck 1 when bookings started. We got it for 1725 pp, it's uo to 3000 pp now.
Should I think about moving to a higher deck? I did not know there were plumbing issues on this ship!
Ugh!
We did the WBTA last year and had a room on deck 2 (2016) it was fine no plumbing issues. We booked our next trip Hawaii in room 2504. If you can get that room or 2004 it's slightly larger than others in that category.Completely unrelated to plumbing . . . but if you bump up a category to the outside rooms on deck 2, you will have a larger porthole with better views. Since you're locked into rates from the day you booked, I bet it would be a cheap upgrade for you. Just thought I'd mention it. I would love to do a transatlantic one of these days, but must wait until the kiddos are out of the house. Have a great trip!

Sorry I don't have a photo. We peeked in the 2004 just as they opened up the staterooms on boarding day. It has enough room between the side of the bed and the sofa bed for a pack n' play. Found the location at the front of the ship fine. On previous cruises we were aft. Thanks so much for posting this!!!!! I was just able to call Costco and get our room changed to 2504. You don't happen to have pictures do you??

Are those the ones where the windows slant slightly down ward towards the ocean? I saw those on a cabin crawl, they were a few feet longer with space between the bed and couch.Sorry I don't have a photo. We peeked in the 2004 just as they opened up the staterooms on boarding day. Currently as before same rumours.Any updates on the Magic's dry dock plans?
Looks like the Magic is getting the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in its dry dock. It will be forward on Deck 10. The announcement also says that Edge will move to midship on Deck 9.
