Magibands question

We will be staying onsite so We will receive the band in the mail. But what if I want to buy those special design bands online. Do they just re connect it when we arrive the resort to switch out?

You can have multiple bands connected to your MDE so you can wear a different one to the parks whenever you want. The bands you'll receive for staying on site are already linked to your MDE accounts.

If you want to purchase other bands in the parks or at Disney Springs, then when you buy them you can have the CM link them or you can do them yourself. It's a super easy process that only takes about 1 minute. You go to the magic band section on MDE, type in the 15 or so digit code on the underside of the new magic band, and then it'll ask who's account on MDE out of yours and your friends/family list you want to link it to.

Then you'll have two bands linked to your account that are identical. The new band you bought you'll be able to open your resort door and pay for stuff in the park as well.
