Okay. Run Rod Stewart's Maggie May through the MP3 player in your brain. I always thought the line was

"...or steal my daddy's que and make a living out of playing fool."

DH, on the other hand has always thought it was

"...or steal my daddy's cue and make a living out of playing pool."

Can anyone resolve this for us? We are each sure we are right. (not that being right is important to either of us...;) )

Yes. It's "pool" as in steal his pool cue stick to play pool.

Take it from me, Maggie. ;) :p

No matter how you sing it , that is one darned good song. Did you know that when it was first released it was the B-side** on a single with Reason To Believe?(also a good song, but not up to the quality of Maggie May)

** For the younger Dis-ers, vinyl records used to come in two sizes: big records with little holes, and small records with big holes. The small ones (7inches) typically had one song on each side. The "A-side" was the reason you bought the record in the first place, the "B-side" was widely varied in quality depending on the artist. Sometimes people wouldn't even turn the record over to listen to the b-side.

ROFL@Micca!! Too funny. I remember being about 13-14 buying 45's at Montgomery Ward for 99 cents! Ah, those were the days. Some of the 'kids' now working at Circuit City or Sam Goody don't have a clue what a 'needle' is, much less where I could special order one!

As an aside to the good ole days, my kids have never seen a tv without a remote. My 8 yr old asked me "Well, how did you change the channel?".

With a pair of pliers after the knob became rounded off! LOL.
