Maggie could use a prayer or two. ._

I've been waiting to post this until there was some more definite info available, but for the last three weeks or so, my Love and our friend Maggie (Saffron) has been dealing with a pretty difficult and very scary health problem. .

She had been diagnosed with anemia over the summer, and some supplements had dealt with that successfully, but 3 weeks ago today she found out that a follow-up blood test showed a high platlette count, and that began a nightmare of tests, doctors, mis-diagnoses, and other fun with the medical profession. .

An original CT scan supposedly showed a "mass" on one of her ovaries; then the next doctor said it was near it; next doctor said it wasn't in that area at all but up in her abdomen. . . then another doctor did 4 sonograms and the tech guy gave her the impression she had tumors and cysts everywhere (that was the scariest), then a surgeon looked at it, scared her even worse by saying he was calling in an "inteventionist" to help (turned out to be a radiologist to consult with on his diagnoses, but the term sounded like some kind of therapist to help her deal with the inevitable breakdown she would have when he told her she was dying. . then said it was a cyst behind the_peritenium, but they have to figure out which organ has caused it, or if it is a rare occurance. . . so last Friday he scheduled a needle aspiration for tomorrow morning.

Maggie had been feeling a pretty steady, dull pain in her lower abdomen all along, but this past Sunday night she started feeling a much worse pain in her upper abdomen, and all day Monday it got worse and worse. . so she went to the ER.

There was another long round of tests. .and now they think she has a hernia of the "mesentery", a small bundle of nerves and blood vessels that connects the peritoneum (the "sac" that holds the major organs) and the large intestine. .They gave her some pain meds and sent her home. .and after some more fun playing "doctor tag", she goes in tomorrow morning for the original procedure, and they will test the fluid from the cyst to see if they can diagnose where it is coming from and what is causing it, then decide on when to fix the hernia. .

We've been terrified of possible ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver problems. .and although it appears more likely now that the hernia is the cause of all the problems, there is still a chance it's something more serious. .

So, if you guys would, I'd appreciate it if you could send good thoughts and prayers for Maggie tomorrow asking that all goes well; nothing serious is found, and that they can get the hernia fixed ASAP and get this whole nightmare behind her. .

Having recently gone through months of "test tag" with DW, I certainly can begin to understand the anxiety and frustration that accompany what you are going through.

I'm kind of at a loss for words, but thank you all so much for the support, prayers and kind words. I can't tell you all how truly touched and grateful I am.

I need to get some rest before tomorrow; it's been a long ordeal, and hopefully it'll be over soon. Thanks again everyone- I've asked Will to update things tommorow and he said he would.
