Madi Gras nights?

I read something on-line which sounded like the rides close when the parade and concerts run during the Madi Gras nights, which makes no sense to me. I called Universal and the employee could not confirm or deny. Does anyone know if the park runs normally during Madi Gras nights? We will be there during the last one and have no interest in either the parade or the concert (have never heard of the singer). Am trying to figure out a touring plan. Thanks!

The rides stay open until the posted park closing time, lots of times the concerts will go past the closing time, so that may be what you are seeing. The parade does make Mummy and Rip Ride Rockit (and somewhat Transformers) difficult to get to if it's a very crowded night, but they won't be closed.

Usually, anyone in the line before posted closing time gets to ride.

The parade will start around 7:30-7:45 and the concert starts at 8:30.The park could close at 9-10pm but I believe I've been some years where the park closed at 8pm and the concert still started at 8:30.I've seen some concerts where two artists played with a small intermission in between and the concerts lasted until like almost midnight.But as was said the rides will stop at closing time.
