Yesterday evening my wife and I took our nieces and nephew to California Adventure for Mickey's Halloween Treat. After we came out of Monster's Inc my wife noticed an interested observer who turned out to be pretty friendly... This little guy is almost a twin of a stray we adopted just a few weeks ago! Since he was spotted outside of Monster's Inc, and during a trick or teat event at that, I've dubbed him/her "Boo". ;)

Awwe, kitties! I have never seen the cats at Disneyland and it's probably a good thing. I think I would try and smuggle them home.

We were eating at the Hungry Bear a couple of weeks ago and noticed a stray cat making its way around the tables looking for scraps. It was the first time I've ever noticed a cat at the park.

I have seen several cats at Disneyland before. A lot over by the river and just this past trip we were walking over by the hub and something ran past and dh thought it was a squirel and I looked closer and it was one of the cats. I was REALLY surprised it had the nerve to run out at that time of day cuz it was the middle of the day and it was REALLY packed. It was a long haired orange tiger looking cat. It was VERY brave to come out with all those people around but then I guess they are used to all the people.

I guess Disney can't really keep them out so they just deal with them. I wonder if they have animal control come take them out over time or if they just let them be. I would hope it would be the later as I don't know that they do any harm and I hate to say it but we have also seen "eek" mice there. We were eating at French market and one ran over head on the tent that covered the eating area. Dh swears he will never eat there again but I told him to get over himself that I am sure they didn't have mice in the kitchens that it was an outdoor area and I am sure that it is just something that happens. But we have never eaten at French Market since then though LOL.

Someone later told me though not to worry, it was probably just Mickey ;)

:rotfl: Yeah disney actually brought the cats in to help control the mice problem but then the cats started breeding and now they have lots of cats. But from what I understand they just let them be. And like you said there are still mice at disneyland, I've seen one before myself. It was by the benches on the walkway before you reach the plaza between DL and DCA. It scared me but it was a little bit cute. Don't tell anyone I thought a real mouse was cute.

Well I hope they at least trap spay and neuter and release. One of my favorite things is the Disney kittens siily symphonies. My husband has it on video somewhere. It's called 3 orphan kittens.

When we were in line for BTMRR, we saw a big brown RAT scuttle along a big old wooden beam and then down in behind it! Not a little mouse, but a big 5-6 incher, without the tail!

:) EEeeek!

What a cutie! I love cats with white on them. We've never seen a cat there, maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. We have seen mice though, they don't bother me though, I think they're cute!

I've seen an orange cat at Disneyland before over by Casey Jr. and I think over by IASW once, too. I've also smelled cat urine spray over there before. We saw a baby mouse crawling through the plants in front of the Matterhorn there while waiting in line a few months ago, in the middle of the day. I also know someone who saw a rat running across the street right there by the parking structure waiting for the tram one evening.

I love the Disney cats, I always try to spot them. That one is too cute! My favorite sighting was one night as we were riding the Casey Jr. Circus Train. As we started to climb the hill by the castle, this big, black cat suddenly came up and over the hill. It looked like the castle was being attacked by a giant cat. It was hilarious!

I love the cats at disneyland I always get excited when I see one!

Sometimes you can see them ouside of the Redwood Creek at DCA. We saw a momma with babies in Jan of 07

What a cute cat!

I think it's nice that they use such natural pest control. Not that the pests are completely controlled, which is good b/c I think the teensy mice are absolutely adorable and I've enjoyed watching them near the Matterhorn and at the NOS train station.

Anyway, it's better than if they put out scads of poisons everywhere...toddler being much less likely to randomly and accidentally eat a cat, than eat pest poison.

However, I would love to know how they keep the bee population down there. Think it's just b/c there are no bee-attracting flowers and plants?

I was looking out for cats on our last trip, but didn't see any anywhere. One of the CMs told me they mainly stay hidden and come out at night. He said there are a couple friendly ones that they feed in the back.

I got to talking to the lady at the Paradise Pier Hotel gift shop about it, and she said people drop their strays off at DL!! Can you believe it? She thinks that's why there are so many. She said people who have extra cats around they no longer want to take care of, get dropped right off at DL.

We Trap/Spay/Release feral cats at our house. We asked one of the team leads walking around if DL did the same. He said that they did and that some CM feed the cats. I'm hoping that this is true.

He said that Walt brought cats to Tom Sawyer's Island and that the cats swam across the river!!

WOW! I have never seen cats in DL before. I did see a huge. I mean huge rat run across the sidewalk on harbour right outside of DCA once though. it was nasty.

I thought they probably would, but it's good to know. None of my cats would swim for it lol.

It seems their feral animals are getting out of control. We were there a couple weeks ago and saw our first DL cat in the Redwood Creek Trail at DCA. It walked on the path for a while and then disappeared into the bushes. We also saw a mouse (and it wasn't Mickey!) run across the outside portion of the Splash queue. As long as they keep them out of the kitchens it's probably not too big a deal.
