MacDaddy's and the MacDiddies Fall Break Fantabulous:I'm back! 8/17

Oh I loved you TR!! your girls are gorgeous, so different and at the same time so equal!

I like the way you think! $4861, huh? Well then you saved him a ton!!! :lmao:

The photos turned out great. It's nice to have photos with us moms in them since we usually take the pictures ourselves.

I really like your tattoo. :goodvibes

I know!! Creative financing! My husband I am sure appreciates it :rotfl: I know that is the greatist thing about photopass, you can actually get everyone in and you don't have to beg people to use your camera. Thanks about the tattoo. I have to say I have a small addiction, and have before they got quite so popular. I have 5 pretty good pieces, which everyone thinks is so funny because I look so "normal" I never really know what that means. I think because I am a teacher and normally pretty conservative (volunteer with our church whatever) so it throws people :lmao: But I love it!

I love your theory. I bought the CD, so I'll have to remember that for my DH too. And I'm like you, I see a photopass person and I'm like okay come on family picture time. Loving the trip report.

THanks so much for reading! I am loving remembering everything. It is like reliving the trip. At first the girls wanted in on the game... taking as many pictures as possible. But then they got sick of it.

Oh I loved you TR!! your girls are gorgeous, so different and at the same time so equal!

Thanks for reading! THank you so much I think they are pretty cute too! I am worried about Katie going to junior high. Man she is going to be a heartbreaker. She is so eccentric, but in a cool I don't care what you think of my style way. It draws boys like flies YIKES :sad2: It is so funny that Isobel has such red to her hair. When she was younger it was even redder. All of us have such dark hair and she looks adopted when we all take pictures together poor girl. :rotfl2: She gets the hair from my dad so he definetly has a special place for her. And you are right they are so different. Love those girls :)

So after our leisurely morning of wandering the Hollywood Blvd area, we were off to our reservations at the Sci Fi Diner. This is one of my favorite places. My dad was also an English teacher and a HUGE lover of sci fi writing and movies. So this restaurant reminds me of all those childhood memories. WE stopped on our way to pin trade with some cast members. We never spend tons of money on pins. I stock up on Ebay and then when we get there we pick some sets we see and start to collect. This time the kids decided to find vinylmations, haunted mansion, pin trading, and those colored mickey head pins. We actually got A LOT of vinylmations pins. I was surprised. Katie is like a hawk. She can spot them halfway across the park and hone in on it like a war head. Mostly leaving me and Isobel somewhere running along behind her. We checked in to Sci Fi and had just a short wait...

Long enough to find the hidden mickey in the waiting area...

This restaurant was one of the other reasons Katie wanted to make sure she was on the adult plan so she could get the ribs and a shake. She ordered an awesome Oreo shake and what else? Of course ! A hamburger! I was like are you kidding me??? You have been asking for ribs since we made this reservation!!!! She was like Eh I don't feel like it. OMG!!! It is already starting!!!:sad2: This is one of the places I remembered to take pics of the yummy food!! Before it was mostly eaten. :rotfl2:

Shake it up!!

Yes mommy I want the soup... and the soup...
No Isobel you have to have an appetizer AND a entree not TWO appetizers... so what do you want...
SOUP Please?
kill me... We finally settled on soup and mickey macaroni. Thank God!

Ketchup anyone? With a hamburger on the side? There needs to be a rolling the eyes icon hahaha..

f3565262.jpg

And saving the best for last... The reuben- MacDiddy style no saukraut extra 1000 island dressing extra toasty. YUMMY I had this like twice this trip

e701d17c.jpg

Ok yes you are cute... you can have more soup...just don't spill it on your clothes. We just started this day!!!:lmao: :lmao:

And I definitely can't forget desert It was some chocolate cake that when you cut into it peanut butter sauce oozed out of it. MMMMM we got two packed up to go sans ice cream. It just became breakfast or a snack for later. TO DIE FOR!
Don't worry I have pics from the second time we went here later.

bfd95b9e.jpg

Finally, we were finishing up and I notice Katie, very intently, writing on the back of her napkin. I say Katie what are you doing???:confused3
She says MOM I am writing down all these movies. They are real right?
Yes the are real. No I wasn't born yet. Man how old do I look? I am only turning 39 this year for heaven sake. Katie what are you going to do with this list?
She says check them out on netflix of course.
That should make for thrilling award winning cinema. :scared1: Have fun with that.

We tipped our lovely waitress from England and got some awesome pics of Perry driving the getaway car...

Poor Perry is tired... he needs a nap... or at least a rest while WE BECOME ANIMATORS IN THE ANIMATION ACADEMY!

Up Next : We are such great artists, Disney should hire us ... Oh wait that's what the crazy guy in the front row said to the artist teaching the class. GEEK!!! :rolleyes1

I know some don't like Sci Fi but we really liked it too!! The shakes are delicious!! :) How adorable that Katie wrote down the movies to look for on Netlflix. That's hilarious! Your food looks yummy!

The other ones she wrote down were the ones from the Great Movie Ride... She wants to watch the Public Enemy with James Cagney and Alien. I told her Alien would scare the bejeezus out of her but she doesn't believe me. I should let her watch it...would serve her right.... :lmao: THat movie still scares me. :rotfl2:

After stuffing ourselves silly we were off to the Great Movie ride...

Perry at The Chinese Theater... He is such a movie star...

Katie continued to write down movies that interested her... Public Enemy and Alien were the big ones. Alien would scare her to death. :rotfl:
Then it was off to Katie's favorite thing on the planet... The Animation Academy! We probably drew 10 characters during our trip. She would do it over and over again if we would let her. I have some of her best from this trip hanging in my classroom. She definetly has the creative genes of the family...Just like her dad.

Isobel not so interested...

What always cracks me up are the people that rush the artist after the class. Showing the artist their work, asking if Disney is hiring... Really? Are your kidding me? Come on ....You know you have all seen it happen :lmao::rotfl2:

Perry wants a job too..

d02a3b03.jpg

The it was off to use our fast passes at Tower of Terror... We didn't even need them... It was great! We ended up riding it three times! No wait! We bought and traded some vinylmations in the gift shop and talked to one of the Cast members a little bit. She told us they had made a game for kids that had to wait becuase they couldn't go on TOT. They had hidden 6 vinylmations around the gift shop and the photo area. So of course the girls had to find all of them before moving on.

YOu have now entered...the Twilight Zone

Watch out for the bird Perry!!

We spent the rest of the day back at the resort. I let the girls play in the arcade for awhile and then swim (while I read and worked on my tan and drank more Diet Coke :cool2:) After tiring them out a little bit we decide to head to DTD to check out the shops. We hadn't been yet this trip and I love to see the fun stuff in Trend-D We ate at Wolfgand Puck's (I forgot to take pics) but it was YUmmy. But by then the girls were getting cross and wanted to leave and go to bed so I shuffled them through World of Disney real quick, both of them riding in the stroller half asleep. (Don't get me wrong it is quieter that way) And spend a little more time at Trend-D. And I saw it

AHHHHHHHHH :worship: The Dooney and Bourke Princess purse!!! I had to have it. But do I buy it now? Or wait until Scot gets here? That is kind of a large purchase.... I mean what is $230 when compared to the $5000 I saved on the photopass? :confused3 My brain kept screaming do it do it do it... The kids weren't awake no one would know the cost. When Scot got there I could say
Oh honey I have had this forever!!! :rolleyes1

Did I do it??

Up next: Day 4 Bring Back My Sand Bucket!!!!

I'm loving the Perry pics. My DS typically carries some animal with him to the parks, so I might have to steal your idea and take pictures of said animal. I have done a few in the past, but I have a mission now. Thanks for the idea.

Can't wait to see if you splurge or not.

Hi Kristen, sorry so late to be tuning in. I have enjoyed reading your TR so far and thank you for sharing. I was searching for people from AZ and came across your TR. I am also from AZ - North Phoenix - Desert Ridge area and my wife also works for the school district (Paradise Valley). I have been a member on these boards since 2004 and have been to the World 3 times and absolutely love it. I love reading the TR's because it's my little way of visiting Disneyworld through everyone's experiences. My wife and I have a set of twins (boy/girl) who are 1 1/2 years old. I can't wait to take them on their 1st trip so they can see how amazing it truly is. I am originally from the Long Beach area so I grew up visiting Disneyland just like you and your husband but I think Disneyworld has more to offer. I can't wait to hear more about your trip.

It is actually pretty fun to do! Sometime we would forget but usually the kids reminded me. They loved to place him in funny places like breaking him into a cage at AK. Good thing we weren't eaten :rotfl2:

:welcome: Glad to have you here!!! I love people who love teachers!:cheer2: How fun to have twins!!! We have taken are kids to Disneyland and Disneyworld since they were babies and they have loved it everytime! At every age there is something different to enjoy! Granted we have been extremely lucky to have visited Disneyland so many times (free is always good) and Disneyland will hold a special place in my heart. I just think there is no comparison to Disneyworld. :yay: It almost seperates you from any of your worries because it is so isolated. And maybe because Florida is so far for us Arizonans. When we were leaving on fall break Isobel told her teacher she was going to Disneyworld and she corrected her saying no you must be mistaken you are going to Disneyland. She was very idignant for a 5 year old. I just don't think it is that common. However we found out that east coast doesn't take fall break so the mad rush of Arizonans and Californians just aren't there. :woohoo: Better for us :) Glad to have an AZ person on here too!

So I didn't buy the purse...yet... but I had a plan... :rolleyes1 The purse would be mine by the end of the trip whoooo ahhhhhhh haaaaaa (that is my evil laugh) :)

Today was an early day for us normal sleeper inners. We had a early morning reservation for Kona Cafe at 9am, and there was NO WAY I was going to miss it. I have read mutliple threads on the heavenliness of Tonga Toast and my carb deprived body was ready for some over indulgence. (Normally I try to stick to high protein low carb foolishness on a regualr basis). But there was no holding me back from the glorious goodness of tonga toast. We made our way..dragging sleepy kids along to the Polynesian. I wanted to get some pcitures driving under the Magic Kingdom sign, but Katie was to busy drawing in her new vinylmation notebook to play along with my photo taking... Kids...

The Polynesian was hopping busy. Ohana seemed to have a huge wait. We have done that breakfast before and I really liked it but it doesn't have tonga toast so pfhhht... When I decided to add in our Kona reservation, we were out of credits so I would be paying for this out of pocket, but I figured it wasn't going to break the bank. We were sat really quickly and I was ready to eat!!!!

Isobel found the Hidden Mickeys..

And two minutes later as the food coma begins...

519c1c5a.jpg

After we were finished and the food began to sink in. I really started to feel it. I really hadn't had a lot of sweet carbs up to this point and I was REALLY full. I wasn't sick feeling but FULL and all of a sudden TIRED! Then for some reason our waiter just disappeared. We honestly probably sat for 45 minutes before I dragged him back over for our check. Then he rang it up wrong by putting it on our dining plan and so that had to be changed. We end up paying 39$ including tip after it was all fixed.

I looked at Katie who was just about as full as I was and I said...
What did you want to do now? (now I know she was conflicted because she didn't say anything)
Then I dropped what I thought would be a bomb... Let's go back and take a nap
( all I could think of was unbuttoning my pants and laying down hahah)

Granted this is like 1030 in the morning but what does my active 11 year old daughter say? Yeah let's do that :rotfl2::lmao:hahah So we waddled back to the room stuck some disney tv on for isobel... and collapsed in a food coma... dreaming of diet coke and the pool and waiting for Scot's plane to come in that afternoon.

Cont...

Ahh.....Disney food coma's....you gotta love them :cloud9:

You gave me an excellent idea on where to eat breakfast on our last day :thumbsup2 I was hoping for Chef Mickey's or Ohana's but will see if I can get a breakfast ADR for Kona's instead.

I would definetly vote for coma... I mean Kona :lmao::rotfl2: That Tonga Toast is really to die for. I am going to try and make it!! I kept eating and eating way past fullness. :)

Haha, sometimes you just need a nap and when the kids agree?! Go for it!!! Your food looks delish!! Yum!

Katie's Goofy drawing is really, really good!

cont... from previous post

So we woke up again about 1230. I felt much better after sleeping off the big day yesterday and the food coma I fell into... I knew Scot's flight was coming in at 4:30 and we had dinner reservations at Coral Reef at 8:30. It was not really enough time to go and do anything big (especially the way we move) so we decide to get in some pool time. I knew once Scot got there that the schedule would be a little more packed and I figured it would be good to relax a little before that happened. So we packed up and headed to the pool. I parked myself at the pirate pool this time. Isobel wanted to play in here and Katie wanted to slide, so this was the perfect place to read and sip my Diet Coke ( I love refillable mugs). I need a pirate pool at my house! Talk about keeping a five year old entertained... and wearing her out. :rotfl:

fb892173.jpg

We hung around the pool for a few hours and towards 3pm had a couple of snacks. I knew we had BIG ressies for tonight so I didn't want to eat anything more substantial. :scared: We were getting a little pink (Mostly Isobel and I were, Katie can stay outside forever and just have the perfect tan.) I told the girls we needed to shower up and get ready for Daddy to get here. At this point Isobel jumps up and down and says

YAY! Daddy is here to save us! :yay:

What??? I was like what to do you mean SAVE us?
She said... Well Daddy is a police officer and saves people...
Oh... Ok... I mean really.... pfffhhhht... I thought I did a pretty good job as a single parent. :headache: But she didn't mean it like that :rotfl2:

But Scot got a huge laugh out of it. I told the girls that if they got ready we could spend some time in the hammock and playing with the buckets by the lake until Scot called for us to come and get him. (the kids meals at the resort come in a sand bucket with a pail)

So we were all ready and headed for the hammock. Katie and Isobel started making sand castles and I read.

ca3fff57.jpg

8f7a25cc.jpg

Katie joining in...

At this point some boys started playing down by the water too and within a couple of minutes had commandeered Isobel's bucket. Ridiculous. So I calmly walked over from my comfy hammock and said politely
Could you please give my daughter back her bucket?

We don't have her bucket

 I am not a hugely patient person for rude children. I know I teach high school so that is kind of an oxymoron. But, my students would know better! I said, yes, you did, I saw you take it.
Then they just laughed at me. :scared1:
Oh no they didn't ....there was about to be some smack down.

So I turned around to find their parents and low and behold. The idiot parents had knocked my book out of the hammock and were swinging in it!! Oh!!! I was on fire!!!. But I remembered where I was... and my kids were there... and I told Isobel and Katie to gather their things and I walked over and gathered my book. I may have said out loud... That some people are completely rude and obnoxious (or something like that) :littleangel: I promptly went back to Port Royale and asked the manager to give Isobel a new bucket. (which he was happy to do! I love Disney staff) I held my temper... Which usually is what Scot keeps me doing... He is the peacemaker. And moved to another hammock..... Far away from the jerks...

(It is funny when you handle situations correctly how your kids will react to other situations that are obviously rude. I hope to think they learn a good example) Or I would have whipped those kids tushes....:rolleyes1

Scot called at about 4:45 and said am I supposed to have a ME ticket? hahah oops. Yes it is in my bag in the room. :confused3 Uh oh. I never pulled them out becuse I went throught the whole car fiasco... But being Disney they just loooked him up and he was on his way to CBR. He called about 30 minutes later and said he was at customs house and to come and pick him up.

YAY!!!! Daddy is here :cool1::cool1::cool1::cheer2::cheer2::yay::yay: 2 more hands!!!! 1 more temper!!!!! Some adult conversation that doesn't revolve around spongebob!!!! :woohoo: MacDaddy is with his MacDiddies again!

Katie's Goofy drawing is really, really good!

The food was soooo amazing! Katie is our resident artist. She drew that just from memory of the class. We probably did that class 10 times. And when we go to CAlifornia Adventure at least 5 times per visit. Most kids want toys or stuffed animals at Disney. Katie wants pencil and paper. :)

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...I have been reading along though. It certainly sounds like ya'll had a nice relaxing time at the resort. Well, that is until the little snotheads who took your daughter's bucket and the snotheads' parents who took your hammock. It always amazes me how people act so rude sometimes.

I'm glad to hear that you were able to get another sand bucket. That's the kind of service that Disney is famous for and I love it.

Yay for your hubby making it to Disney! As you mentioned, I am sure you were quite ready for some adult conversation.

I know I have been missing your comments! You are my first subscriber :rotfl2: It was a really nice relaxing time and now the real vacation begins..:rotfl:

You have been around the boards for a long time ...Is there a specific thread or place to that just posts the most recent up to date specials for booking that disney releases. I am planning on booking again for next October but want to hit some good deals...

What a nice afternoon minus the seriously jerky people you ran into. Seriously?! Who takes a child's bucket that doesn't belong to them? And what kind of a parent wouldn't see that and ask them to return it? Grrrr!!! You handled that really well. :)

First off, I keep a close eye on the Special Offers page on the www.disneyworld.com site. It's usually a little bitty old thing posted on the bottom of their site. They certainly don't advertise it much since they want you to pay full price.

Second, I watch the Discount Codes & Rates forums herein on the Disboards. A lot of times, there are people who have heard something from a Disney insider and they'll post it here on the Disboards before it's put out there for the general public. That's how I knew that Disney would be offereing free dining in May of 2011. Here's the link to the Discount Codes & Rates: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=93
