This thread will provide live updates of the Mission: Space Media Event going on right now in Walt Disney World. The folks from Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World the will be providing updates from the event and answering your questions. I'm Rob Sutton, Unofficial Guide web minion for this event.

Thanks very much to Webmaster Pete for the use of this forum and for allowing us to post links to touringplans.com

I just received an update from UG researchers Linda Sutton, Christine Testa, and Len Testa who finished their first ride on Mission: Space. According to Len, the ride establishes a new standard of simulator technology with very crisp graphics and a smooth ride throughout. None of the researchers experienced any of the nausea or discomfort on Mission: Space commonly associated with simulators and all felt that this was the best simulator ride they had ever experienced.

I will continue to update throughout the day as I hear from our UG researchers.

Thanks Rob!

We'll be looking forward to your reports!!!:sunny:

P.S. Could you update us on the weather ,particularly the temps at WDW? My family leaves Mon. and we're hoping for pleasant, not scorching hot temps!!!

Thank you!:earsboy:

The side effects of M:S have been of great interest here on the DIS. Glad to hear all survived...

BTW Do you need any help with that "research",lol.....

:hyper:

Hey guys, I messed up a bit and posted the second update in a different thread. Sorry about that.

The most recent update I have is that the researchers have just finished eating a pickle in Liberty Square, riding the Haunted Mansion, and are now headed to Tony’s Town Square for lunch. I am sure the pickles always taste sweeter in Liberty Square...

MY GAWD MAN!! You call that an update!? Was the pickle kosher!! I thought you were a professional?

Thanks for the update, now I'm even MORE excited about our upcoming trip.

Sorry for the lack of detail in some of these updates, I am doing this on the sly while at work and also am having a bit of difficulty with our cell phone communications. I’ll make sure to post a more thorough review of the days events this evening.

In the meantime, I just received another update and our researchers took a little ride on Pirates, had a Dole Whip and are now headed back to Epcot for another round of Mission: Space and then on to dinner in France.

They did take in Mickey’s Philharmonic (10 minute posted wait time @ 1:00 pm) and Len is telling me that it is one of the better 3-D films in the park. He went on to say that some of the animation sequences seemed to work better than others though, but overall it’s a nice attraction.

I’ll keep posting as I get new info and if anyone has any specific questions please let me know.

Thanks,

Rob
