Okay all, kick in with your opinions and knowledge of how the Mojitos are made on the Magic! I LOVE this drink, but it CANNOT be made with syrup (yucka). I only like them made with fresh spearmint leaves.

I had afew sips of a Mojito I bought at the Pop Century Resort last year, and they used spearmint syrup. It was nasty and I ended up giving it back and chose something else.

Thanks for your help. Happy Easter! :hippie:

Well my ears just perked up!! They have mojitos on the Magic? :cool1:

We sail in just under 3 weeks and I'm super excited now!!! I can get the recipe if they'll give it out if you'd like! Where onboard did you have them make it? In a restaurant or at one of the bars?

Yes fresh mint they are great. The first one I ever had was in Blue Heven in Key West:thumbsup2 :cutie:

Oooohh! You got my attention! Yes, they had the best mojitos onboard the Magic. I had mine poolside during the day. They were so refreshing! And I agree, fresh spearmint leaves are the way to go!:thumbsup2

Well, I have not had one on either of the ships yet, but as I said, I did try the one at PC. I was kind of wondering that if Disney stuck to Coca-Cola products for example, in their parks, at the resorts, on the ships, etc. Then, maybe Disney Mojitos would all be made from the same recipe. Hope that all made sense my friends...?

I just happend to be looking at the recent Magic Navigator, and I remember seeing something about a Pineapple Mojito. I'm thinking good glory, I have to have me one of those bad boys! I am just hoping for a lovely, little drink that I absolutely love, and rarely ever have. Coming from the Magic, I am hoping it will be superb. :thumbsup2 And, I just want to enjoy it with my partner  :tigger: in one of our favorite places in the world! :cloud9:

"Don't cry Experiment 626 :stitch: , I'm on my way to rastle with ya!! I miss you too!"

I had a few traditional mojitos onboard the Magic on the 2/9-2/16/08 cruise, and can confirm, they are made the RIGHT way and not with spearmint syrup. Of course there is simple syrup in the ingrediants, which also include rum, crushed/muddled spearmint leaves, lime juice and club soda. They were very good, and just about identical in taste to the way they make them in Bongo's in Downtown Disney in WDW. My DW LOVED the pineapple mojitos - she is STILL talking about them 1-1/2 months later! So have no fear and drink up!

If you like mojitos, try a capirinha (no idea if I spelled that right, which is sad since I took Portuguese in college). I'm not sure how they are made on the ship (they do make them - I had some), but they have fresh lime, brown sugar, and some sugar cane liqueur (or rum, I imagine?). Very similar to a mojito, but just a slightly different (yummier) taste.

I had a chambord mojito martini in Palo on Thursday night. Ehhhh... I was not impressed. It had a strong raspberry mint syrupy taste.

I must be the only one, but mojitos do nothing for me!

That's OK - Bahama Mommas do nothing for ME, but a fair amount of folks on here tend to like them! ;) Ditto with martinis - I love 'em (traditional w/ gin and VERY dry) but my DW only likes vodka martinis or chocolatinis or dirty martinis or anything except gin martinis

Hey! I had a Mojito at Bahama Breeze also and thought it was terrific! We do love that place! :worship: I wonder if a Mojito can take the place of my current favorite Disney cruise drink, the Konk Kooler....

Anyhow, I am going to definitely give a Magic Mojito a try when the time comes. And look everyone, look at our ticker and watch how doggone slowly the time goes by....I'm dyin' here!

Let me add my vote for the amazingly yummy Pineapple Mojitos. It was the drink of the day on my eastern 7 nighter in September 2007. I had 4 of them by the end of the day.....I'm hoping they still have them in December when I'm back on the Magic.
:yay:

I have never tried a mojito - but am pretty sure I will be when we finally take our first cruise in May! :thumbsup2

Gonna have to get me one of those Konk Koolers that everyone keeps talking about, too! :hippie:

Hey Tink too, I assume you are going this coming May? If yes, what dates and where are you going? :upsidedow

Ditto, ditto and ditto. The pineapple ones are to die for!

I have never had a mojito, don't much like mint in a drink. That said, a pinapple mojito, that might be worth trying.

Is there mint in the pineapple one too?

Another vote for the pineapple mojitos! They were awesome when we sailed in October........and yes, they had fresh mint leaves in them.:thumbsup2
