Lynnlee and Dan's PJ - September 2009!

i have found the perfect nail color. i think a lot of ladies use it. but it is the first nail color that has made me want to keep my nails done for the first time ever because when i see my hands in a mirror or just look down at my hands i feel so girly and pretty and it doesn't chip. it's opi's bubble bath. i still want to try second honeymoon, but the bottle i have won't open and it's constantly sold out where i live. for right now bubble bath will be my hg. i just had to report!

oh, and day one of the bridezilla diet starts today! i had a good breakfast, lunch and dinner so far. i'm not quite sure what 'diet' i want to do but for right now i'm mostly eating protein and am watching carbs. here goes!! :-)

Oh, I'm so thrilled. The Little River Band is giving a free concert here in town and I am so excited! They were on my 'to do' list to see before I die. I'm only 28 but a guy I was dating in high school would play 'Lady' for me and ever since then I have LOVED the Little River Band. I am so thrilled!

Now if I can only get down to OKC to see Boston, Styx and Journey ... ahhh, Journey ...

Congratulations! I am planning for September of 2009 also; we're looking at the 3rd. We are hoping for the wedding pavillion though, I heard the love bugs are really bad in September so we opted for indoors. I haven't started my PJ yet, but I look forward to following along with yours!

lol thanks indybride! diet's going well so far !!

and auntpunkin? is that it? i need to take notes whenever i write my replies so i have the right username lol !! yea for september 2009 weddings! i am sooo looking forward to it i can't stand it! we are actually calling today to start planning! i am beside myself right now! you are going to have to let me know what you think of the whole wedding process at disney!! i don't have a date yet but it doesn't matter to me; whatever date they can fix for us is great, as long as it's in September. i REALLY want it in October because that's me and my fiance's anniversary month, but i can't remember why we can't have it in October. what are your colors? mine is all lavander; mom and i are going to the festival here in town to see what goodies they have this weekend.

sooo ... i was so in love with the idea of lavender all over the place for my wedding and now i may just stick with roses. my mother and i went to the lavender festival here in town to check out what the plants looked like in real life, and i still adore it and want it all over my house, but maybe not for my wedding. i LOOOOVE the look but am just not quite sure about it.

and i am so excited because i get to see three dog night (hopefully) on june 27th ... i have wanted to see them for so long !! and then there are a bunch of free concerts with the state fair in october and that includes ... .38 special, the oak ridge boys (daddy plays base, mama plays fiddle lol) ... BOYS II MEN !! R&B BEFORE R&B went bad !! i appreciate those guys so much more now than i did back then, because music now is so awful in pop and r&b. anyway ... also bj thomas ...the marshall tucker band, and the night rangers. i am stoked, i can't wait ! AND i get to go to phantom of the opera here in town too !!

i'm working part time and taking classes at night to get certified. i already have my bachelor's degree but need computer training. if i didn't have my mom i would seriously be out on the streets. i'm an only child so we're a pretty close family (dad died a few years ago) ...

anyway, i'm excited, but bummed about the lavender.

i DO know now though that after looking at everyone's pictures i want a makeup artist to airbrush me for the day. they say that the makeup lasts for 18 hours, which is GREAT in that florida heat. and everyone who posts pics and is airbrushed look like the models in the fashion magazines and once in my life i want to look like that ...

the bridezilla diet is going well. i'm not even weighing because that's a whole other bucket of worms i don't want to spill. i already feel better and mom and i got bicycles yesterday so we're going to ride again like we did when i was in high school. i already feel not as bloated and i ate really well this week.

ok, that's my journal post for the week !! anyone out there have lavender in their weddings and have comments ? thanks !!

ok, first all kinds of wedding drama i won't post here. maybe i will later when i need to vent.

BUT OMG, i have the perfect theme for my reception, wether it is here at home or at disney world !!!! (yes, that's the drama; i'm being bribed with the down payment of a house or condo to have the wedding here in town by one party ... and the other party; well, they'll pay for the wedding practically if it's at disney) ....

i love the movie the labryinth. with david bowie? ok anyway, you know where she has the dream and they're in the masquerade ball? that's totally what i'm doing for my theme. it looks like they have a gold, white, silver type theme going on, and i want it to be very elegant. i'm looking at candelabras now and i think those are going to be silver on white table cloths because there is a lot of white in that 'dream'. and silver is a great accent for white. and the masks are all going to be gold, silver and white; and those are going to be party favors. they are all going to be different types of masks, mine, of course, will be a 'princess' type mask ... don't know if i will use feathers but the scene had a lot of fans so i'm trying to figure out something to do with those.

i'm trying to keep this inexpensive; and we'll only have about like 30 people there so we won't have very many tables. and the food will be something GOOD, like bar b que or mac and cheese; or if we do it at disney world a brunch.

any ideas for a gold, white, silver theme reception? there won't be much dancing because we're all kind of 'puds', so i don't know what to do for entertainment. i'm just thinking i can have my bose speaker in the back ground and everyone can just enjoy the decor and mill around and talk for an hour or two or however long and dance if they want to ... there will be no alcolhol; i can't spell that word lol...

ideas appreciated !!

I too am looking for candelabra centerpeices. A pianist would be a classy touch to a reception. When I was offering to give up my DJ for a location (a very short insanity plea time) I wanted a pianist. Especially if you think no one would dance, then everyone can talk and not have to shout! I hate shouting!

Indybride -

I hadn't thought of a pianist. That would be very classy, wouldn't it? I'll have to look at that option. Or a string quartet maybe ? Thanks for the ideas ! Man, who knew silver candelabras were SOOO freaking expensive though? I'm probably going to end up just being happy with silver plated lol. $2,000 for one candelabra is a little out of my price range; that'll be about 1/3 of my wedding cost !! lol ...

thanks for the idea ! i like that.

$2000??????? :headache: OH NO!!!!! Hopefully Disney rents them for cheap! What am I thinking? Disney and Cheap are NEVER in the same sentence!

I'm glad I could offer some ideas for you. I like string quartets as well but the more musicians the more money you have to pony up!

Wow, I like your theme ideas! I don't know if Disney allows it but, here we have a couple of rental places (Taylor rental and u rent it) that rent candelabra's. I wonder if you could use something like that cheaper than Disney's rates??? I hope your wedding date is close to mine (the 3rd) so I can try to sneak a peak!

We are doing a fall theme with gold, burgundy, light oranges and browns. That's about as far as my planning goes right now.

I'd have a hard time turning down the bribe, but then everytime the monorail went by the wedding pavillion when I was at Disney I'd have regrets.

auntpunkin - your theme sounds great !! and if you are around the area that i am sure; come on by and sneak a peek !! i go back and forth between ideas so much though that i have no idea what i'm doing lol. but i still love the masquerade idea.

and i was shocked too at the prices for the candelabras !! i found some silver plated ones that were like $30 a piece and they looked similar to the more expensive ones. i only need them for one day and a few hours so if they tarnish after that then oh well. a little polish should take care of that ...

i don't know what to do about flowers though. i find a lot of flowers overdone sometimes .... hmmm ...

oh, and i get to have a reception at home ! the father in law insists that if we have a disney wedding he doesn't care but we must have a reception at home. which is fine with me because i found a gorgeous dress that is very sexy that i would love to wear !!

OHHHH !! and i get to go wedding ring shopping !! i have no problem with my engagement ring except that i didn't get to go pick it out with my fiance and i don't wear yellow gold. it is a beautiful ring and very classy, just not my style at all. it's just out dated. my fiance thought i should be 'surprised' instead of knowing that i was going to get engaged even though i knew i was going to marry him. lol. so now i get to pick out a ring and a band. i am so thrilled !!

i love the idea of having a reception at home ! i'll have to find a pic of the dress i'm wanting for it. i'm almost more excited for my reception at home than i am of the actual wedding, lol. because of the dress. but the dress is not what i'd consider a 'wedding' dress, so it'll fit its purpose. i am so excited. i wasn't looking forward to my wedding as much because i'm not for fancy stuff and dressing up and all that, i just wanted to marry my honey, but now i'm so excited !! :-)

oh, and my father in law came up with a tremendous idea for our engagement party !! he and the uncle own like these world war two planes, and we're going to have an aviation - adventure type thing for my engagement party, and everyone gets their picture taken in the plane or next to these planes, i think that'll be really cool, unusual pictures.

i'll have to post pics of what his planes look like ...

i'm kind of nervous going up in them though; we've had so many crash in the field next to us, but then, those are sensationalized. but as long as they don't do loop de loops we'll be fine lol. i can't wait !

oh, and we're taking engagement pics early september; hopefully we'll have them in time for invites for the party. i love my honey ! did anyone else get impatient with the wedding plans like i am and just want to elope? i just want to be married to him lol.

oh my goodness !! we have found our table decorations !! they are not the labryinth, but they are fantasy - like. they are from garden ridge; they are crackle looking with turquoise and green and amber and rust type things. it sounds ugly, and doesn't look as great in the store, but once you put them on a white table cloth and see the whole setting oh my goodness. so elegant and pretty !! i am still going to try it with the silver candelabra to see how it looks. but it goes with the stuff at the attic so we'll see. i can't believe we totally veered directions from what we were originally going for but this stuff is so pretty. when we figure out how to use our scanner, then we'll post pictures lol. or if i can honline what it looks like then i'll post. but it'll be so pretty !! i found a goblet type thingie with the crackle i won't let out of my sight.

disney totally messed up our planning stuff up. we got mixed up with some folks from ct and we're from oklahoma, and they totally got all the information wrong and that's why they haven't called. so hopefully it'll be smooth sailing from here.
and now that i have a part time job (with pretty decent pay for what it is !!) while i'm going to school i'm not as depressed and i think the weight will come off hopefully.

i have been doing pretty well on my bridezilla diet but i need to step it up because 14 months is not that far away !! omg, i can't believe it's going to be here very soon ... oh wow how time flies

oh my. nothing but drama. now i just want to elope.

my grandpa who is giving me away is refusing to come because it's in another state but it's in the state that he will be living in during that portion of the year; they live in florida 6 mo out of the year.

my mother and i finally are on an understanding and i think planning will be better from here on out.

here's the thing.

my fiance's mom died about 4 years ago. disney world was her favorite place to go with the aunt and HER mom. now the aunt an her mom don't want to come because it would be hard for them to see disney without my fiance's mom.

i say so what. i'm the one that's alive and kickin' and disney is my favorite place too. forget them if they can't be happy while they're alive. disney is where i want to get married and they can live with that. i'm the one alive and getting married and disney is where i want to do it. forget everyone else. i don't have my dad or my other set of grandparents either. we're all dealing with significant deaths.

sigh. this has been a difficult week but mom and i are going along with the planning anyway. my fiance likes disney so much i think that's kind of where he wants it because he seems happy whenever i mention it.

ok.

my fitness goal is to get in 10,000 steps in every day up until my wedding, even once i start working again.

it's kind of kicking me in the behind.

it's roughly 5.6 miles. it takes me forever to go 1 mile !! i mostly go 3 miles and then quit for the day; an hour and a half is enough for right now lol ....

let's see ...

thursday mom and i went to lafortune park and walked a little over 3 miles together

friday i walked 55 minutes on the treadmill while watching 'girls next door' on my ipod

saturday, today, i've done richard simmons sweatin' to the oldies number 4 and walked 40 minutes ... not sure how many steps that would be; my pedomoter(sp?) needs batteries ... soooo .... i'm not doing too bad !

and i'm working on drinking water and eating light.

i'm nervous once i start work it'll all go to pot like it usually does but i have a huge goal so i think i'll do well ... i'm nervous about that though.

but i'm doing ok so far ! i will not let myself be fat and miserable on my wedding day. i hate being 80lbs overweight. i'll get there; 10,000 steps a day.

i have 14 months to do it in; and january 15th is my first goal to have at least half of it off for my dress fitting in okc.

yea !! ok. i know the post will say monday morning but i'm counting this as sunday's because i haven't gone to bed yet.

i didn't do formal walking today but i did do some pretty good workouts !!

theFirm classics volume 1 - ALWAYS kicks my butt; i have every firm ever made because i started doing them in high school and until i got sick and they are tough even when i was in shape. this one is so great because it's beautifully done and basic exercises.

richard simmons sweatin to the oldies 3 - i don't care what anyone says, i adore richard simmons and his sweatin' DVDs. i did these a loooong time ago and as cheesy as they all are i am always smiling about halfway through and am wanting to do another before it's over. they always get me moving, even if it's just a 'warm up' before another video or tough workout. i love these.

and wedding news: mom and i looked at the planning book on the disney website. i am going with the yellowish car for $800 because i think it's so classy.

we are going to have 3 disney characters at our reception; minnie, mickey and pluto.

that's it really. i hope it's ok i log my workouts in here; i always do well when i log them in somewhere. plus, the workouts are for my wedding and happily ever after, so i figure it's ok. :-)

has anyone had experience with the yellow-ish car? feel free to post if you liked having it !! it looks so classy.

today's workout so far : (monday) 50 minutes on the treadmill
richard simmons sweatin' to the oldies 2

and, i'm going with yellow gold wedding ring instead of white gold. i discovered that white gold washed me out, and yellow gold looks sooo good...

i need to get pics up here so ya'll can see everything !! all i can do are the links though and i don't like those. i want to actually show the full picture ... maybe fiance can help me with that one.

workout: walk 2 miles

i'm bummed, it doesn't look like they're getting any more of the center pieces in at garden ridge that i'm wanting. :-( i'm hoping they'll get them in before they start putting holiday stuff out ...
