Lyndsey & Lee May 27th 09 ~ ** LINK TO OUR VIDEO**

Today I recieve an email from our videographer saying how he caould not cash the cheque that we sent him. Turns out that the bank of America want to charge $40 for the privilage and that it may take anywhere between 2 - 8 weeks !! His bank also told him that they think my bank may also charge me. He said we was quite happy to absorb the $40 cost but he obviously does not know what my bank are going to charge. NIGHTMARE !!

I mean whats the point of having a cheque book ??????

Any other U.K. brides have problems with this?

I emailed him asking if he could give me his account number and sort code and that I could do a direct money transfer tonight, but he sent me back the details for wiring the money. He probably doesnt want to give me his details which is fair enough as we are total strangers to him.
I gave him another option of me giving him my card details and he could take the money this way as this is what Randy Chapman has done and there was no problems with this. He's not got back to me on this yet.

I then emailed Lejeune hair and makeup as I was also going to sent her a cheque. She is going to check with her bank today to see if there will be the same problems.

Why do things have to be surrounded with issues??? Is nothing ever easy

Moaning over........

Sorry to hear about your banking problems! It stinks that banks charge so much for a service. Good Luck :wizard: and keep us updated!

That's a pain - I hadn't thought about problems with payments coming up....

Have you tried going to bank having your money traded for american and then asking your bank to send the check direct -- like a cashiers check?

I am sure european banks make payments to american banks everyday. Call the bank and ask how they can be of help. When I travel to I can use my credit card and the credit card company does the rate excahnge for me at no charge -- well used to be no charge.

The vendor may feel uncomfortable giving bank routeing information, again that is something your bank can ususally do for you -- they call and get information for the transfer so you never need to know his information. Hope this helps.

That sounds like a lot of extra work for you!! I'm sorry. I don't know why banks make such big deals about stuff like that. It's not like they actually do anything. It's all electronic numbers not real live money.

Have you tried th fairfx card? we just got one to pay our wedding and its a really good rate and its free if you buy over £500 first time. its a mastercard as well so you can just give them the card details

I made payments by wire transfer from a dollar savings account that I set up at my bank and by credit card. I was charged for the wire transfer I think it was about £20.

Or what about using Paypal? You can use a credit card or your bank account.

Hi Girls, thanks for your suggestions :thumbsup2

I think I am going to get bankers drafts written and send those it seems the cheapest option.

Just a quick (stupid :rolleyes1 ) question - Who do you make the money order payable to when paying disney?

It says in the LOA, Disney Destinations, LLC, as recieving agent for Disney Fairytale Weddings.

So Do I make it payable to Disney Destinations OR Disney Destinations LLC ???

Told you it was a stupid question !!!!

What does LLC stand for anyway?

Thanks

We made our check payable to Disney Destinations LLC.

"LLC" means "Limited Liability Company", which is a particular form of business entity.

Hi girls,

Things have been fairly quiet on the wedding front now that the dresses have been ordered, the at home reception venue chosen, and finally the deposits sent away to vendors in Florida !!!!!

I Posted my Letter of agreement yesterday and wired the money through at the bank so now it is official

We are to be married on Wednesday 27th May 2009 at Disney's wedding pavilion with a reception to follow at Living seas and a DP at lower U.K. :cool1:
Photography will be done by Randy Chapman :thumbsup2
Videography by Simply Cinematic :thumbsup2
Hair and makeup by Le Jeune :thumbsup2

I have yet to decide on a venue for my welcome dinner - any suggestions ???

OMG let the butterflies in the tummy begin !!!!!!!!!!

Mini update.....................

Well, there was drama surrounding the bankers drafts that I sent, meaning they all got lost in the post for a week and a half :scared1:

Eventually though they reached their intended destination :woohoo:

I also purchased the ring pillows that Connor and Megan will walk down the aisle with...

ringpillows-1-1.jpg

They were in the sale for £5.50 each - bargain

I will post another pic once I customise them with yellow ribbon.

Lastly......... We were having a movie night last night with the kids and the phone rang, Connor ran to answer it, he came back, handed me the phone and said "Mum, theres some American dude on the phone for you" :rotfl: :rotfl:

It was Krisi Davis !!, calling to say that everything has now been recieved and confirmed and how do we fancy meeting with her in November to do a site visit !!!!!!!!! Do I ever !!

So we are meeting her at Franks and getting to see the wedding pavilion, living seas and lower u.k. :cool1:

She also said that our wedding planner should be contacting us by the end of next week and that we will be able to arrange our planning session and menu tasing with them.

3 Months till our planning session :scared1: woo hoo :cool1:

Woo hoo! Glad the money finally got there, and yeah for a planning session!!

Linz, I am having the exact same problem with sending money over. I paid Randy Chapman by sending my bank details, no problems, but I can't pay the officiant *** they only want a check and my bank are charging £50 to write one!!!! so annoying. I was just wondering what this bankers draft thing was?

Everything looks great by the way

How exciting to have the planning session scheduled!

I know - its getting exciting now !!

Hi Pinkerbell,

A bankers draft is basically a cheque written by the bank in the currency you need. It depends on which bank you use as to how much they charge but they are between £10 - £20 (better than £50 :) )

It takes a day or two for the drafts to be ready and they either send them to your house or you can pick them up at the bank.

Hope this helps :)
