Just asked my friend to be bridesmaid - well maid of honour :dance3:

She was sooooo excited that she ran up and down the hall shouting "ME?, YOU MEAN ME?, ME BE YOUR BRIDESMAID?"
then she hugged me really really tight and said "I'd love to!"

so my maid of honour or 'cheif bridesmaid as we call them here in the U.K. is Jan - We met 7 years ago when our sons were 3 years old, they were just starting nursery (playschool I think you call it in the states?)

Jan is great, she knows how to have a good time and can regularly be found at my house after a few glasses of wine singing full belt into the microphone :rotfl:

Ok time for some more detail...........

Wedding party

Bride - Lyndsey :bride:

Groom - Lee

Bestman - Scott - Lee's brother

Maid of Honour - Jan - My friend

Best boy (ringbearer 1) - Connor our son

Bridesmaid (ringbearer2) - Megan our daughter

Flowergirls x 2 - Rebecca and Emily - my cousins daughters.

Who will escort me down the Aisle? - My Mum of course - Carole

Megan and Connor will walk down the aisle together with a ring pillow each. Megan with her Dads ring and Connor with mine.

I love these but with a yellow ribbon

ringpillow-1.jpg

We wanted our flower girls to scatter flowers down the aisle - is this possible in the wedding pavilion?

I like how these are so simple yet pretty, I would swap the ribbon for yellow ribbon and yellow petals

We have just confirmed our date with Randy Chapman for our photography :thumbsup2

I think the decider was seeing lynn5700's pictures - they are just gorgeous and how I would like our wedding pictures to be. :lovestruc

We have also decided who to have for videography but I'm keeping that quiet until we have our date :rolleyes1 stupid I know but the company we want are the very best that I have ever seen and I don't want to scupper our chances of having them, because believe me, if you seen them you would want them at your wedding. ::yes::

Sorry I've not posted much recently, I've been snowed under with college work, but the final hand in date for work has passed and I've finished :cool1:

Lets jusy hope I passed :confused3

Well planning has been slow up until now, I think as of tomorrow things will move along fairly fast.

I am up early tomorrow to catch a train into Glasgow to go wedding dress shopping !! I can't wait, did anyone else feel a bit nervous going dress shopping for the first time? I just keep thinking 'what if I don't find the one? 'or what happens if they are all the one :rotfl:

I am going shopping with my mum Carole, my daughter Megan and my Maid of Honour Jan. When I told Megan yesterday that we were going dress shopping she almost exploded with excitement !!!, she literally shook she was so excited :goodvibes

So tomorrow its a girls day, we are getting the early train - it will take about an hour, then into dress shop 1 appointment at 10am, next we are going to lunch, then the next appointment is at 2.30pm so I think I will try to find the shop 'confetti' - a wedding suppliers e.g stationary etc... so as I can get some nice paper and stuff to start making invitations etc.. Then we will have a mooch about some other shops, stop for dinner then grab the 8pm train home.

Sounds like a plan :thumbsup2

Hey Linz, how you doing? Hope you had a great time shopping today! What did you find that you liked?

Rev Miller might be a bit slow to come back to you as he will only take bookings at 7 months out. Well, that's what he told us a little while back so that might have changed.

Did you sort the room problem out?

Hi girls,

Well me and my girls headed out on the train today to Glasgow, we had a great time and I found my dress :cool1:

It is completely different from what I thought I would buy :confused3

I tried on loads of very simple and plain gowns that were quite poofy as this is what I have liked in pictures that I've seen. Anyway I narrowed it down to two, then the sales woman came into the dressingroom with another gown and said why don't you try this one, I scrunched up my nose because it was not the sort of thing I would have looked at and I didn't like it on the hanger. Anyway, I tried it on and it was THE ONE !!!

I couldn't believe it.

We went to another shop where I had an appointment and I only tried on 1 dress which was quite nice but very expensive.

A couple of hours later we went back to the first dress shop and I tried on my dress again, just to see if I still felt the same, and I did !!!

Here it is here - SORRY REMOVED SO LEE DOESNT SEE !!

I can post it for now because Lee is away to bed for the night, I will have to take it down tomorrow because he will sneek a peek - Lee I know what your like ::yes::

When I see it in the picture I kinda feel like I did when I seen it on the hanger - not what I would normally have chosen, but when I have it on and see it in the mirror I just know its the right one :lovestruc

It costs £699 which is cheap for a dress here but i seen it on bestbridalprices for $575 which is about the equivelant of £285 :faint: not much difference then !!!

If I pay to ship it over it will be another $120 but I'm not sure if I will need to pay customs on it?

Have any British brides done this and how did you find it?

Also if i ship it over I will need to find a good seamstress to make any adjustments, whereas the shop here charges £120 maximum for all alterations.

Don't know whether to buy it here or not? Its hassle over money ?? What do you think?

Anyway I'm off to bed to dream of my dress :cloud9:

Night Night

I love your dress! The side pleats (is that what you would call them?) are beautiful!!!
Can't wait for more!popcorn::
