Hi All!

I will be starting my planning journal today! I have absolutely loved reading all of yours. We are planning our wedding for 9/28 and go to Disney for our planning session March 5! Any advice for all I need before the planning sess?

Thanks!!!
Lyndsey

Hey!

Congratulations to you both! :) Looking forward to hearing all about your plans... and how you met each other! and of course the proposal! :)

I think its important to take any magazine cuttings to your planning meeting, any floral pictures you like, and any ideals for an overall theme.

Hope that helps! :)

Happy planning!

Congratulations. Looking forward to hearing your plans as they progress.

Are you going to post soon how you met, engagement story and pic of ring?

We are suuuuper excited and so overwhelmed! First off, we are having our ceremony at Seabreeze Point, and reception at the Attic (for brunch). Later, Illuminations dessert party. And sadly, that's ALL we know so far. I can't believe I have to have all this planned by Sept 28! We are flying to WDW March 1-8 to do our planning sess and engagement photos with Randy Chapman!

Some questions...
1. Have any of you used the Disney Registry? Would you recommend it? We don't really want a million plates and napkin gifts, so we were thinking we could use it so gifts could go directly toward the honeymoon (yet to be planned!)

2. For invitations, it seems people recommend SOOO many different sites! I am definitely not a DIY bride b/c I work too much. Advice!?!?!?

Thanks so much!!!

Welcome :wave2: I am using randy 4 my vow renewal reception at the grand floridian.... im not doing a registry so i cant help u there.. also i am a DIY girl so im sure other brides can help in that area 2 :rolleyes1.. sorry im not much help but im EXCITED that ur getting married n disney :lovestruc

Woooohoooo congratulations!

With the registery Disney are charging a 7% service charge on all gifts... your guest can either add this on top of their gift or minus it from their gift.

Other thing to remember is that you get the money deposited now into your bank account or they send you a check, you don't get gift cards anymore so you pretty much have to pay for your honeymoon then get refunded afterwards! It might be better if you just ask for Disney Giftcards instead?

Happy planning, can't wait to hear your story and see your ring!! xxx

Welcome and Congrats! I was not a DIY bride AT ALL. I think the only things I made myself were the times guides and the welcome bags! I got my invitations for Impressions by Shelley. They were AMAZING!

HI! I am sooo glad that I found your PJ! We just got engaged January 15, 2012 and are planning a Wishes WP/Whitehall Room brunch reception for December 9, 2012! Our Room Block is due tomorrow! I look forward to going on the planning journey with you! :yay:

Welcome and looking forward to more plans!!

Definitely bring any ideas you have for the planning session, the more you have the more solid plans you can make! :goodvibes I brought fabric samples from the bridesmaid dresses, ribbon samples from Michaels of the specific hues of colors I wanted so we could pick out linens and etc while there. There is A LOT of food if youre having a tasting, dont eat before hand and don't make plans for dinner- a very late bite if any.

For invites we are using Impressions also- they have a FB page you can check out tons of ideas and samples! They were really great at working in my budget also :)

I'm also signed up for the Disney Registry- my shower isn't until 4/1 so we haven't gotten anything from it so far but it was really easy to set up. We are going to Aulani, so I was able to mostly register for things there and then add a few things in WDW before we take off to Hawaii. I know there is the fee, I decided to have it taken out of the contributions rather than added to for my guests. Really I appreciate anyone contributing for us so I'm not bothered by the 7% thing. personal opinion I guess! :goodvibes

Wow! Thank you all for all your warm welcoming hellos! I am sooooo excited to be a part of this board. It is so cool that via the internet, we have a support group.

We are on rapid plan mode. We got engaged on Christmas. Decided the next day to do a Wishes Wedding. Just sent in our deposit last week. Woohoo! And now are flying from San Diego to Orlando in 3 weeks for our planning session. Michelle G. from Disney kindly reminded me I need all our paperwork for the planning kit submitted ASAP! AHHHH! I felt yesterday like I was planning an entire wedding in one day!

So far our inspiration for the wedding is the Disney Imagineer quote:
"It is the magic that begins the happily ever after"

We aren't sure exactly how we are going to incorporate this...We want to use Disney quotes from Disney movies as inspiration. Color scheme: Purple color spectrum with yellow highlights. Any ideas???

Ceremony: Seabreeze Point
Reception: Attic
Dessert Party: Epcot UK

We submitted our Brunch menu....not really having any idea...so we just chose some good looking stuff. For the dessert party, we added the Banana Flambe. Has anyone tried that???

MUSIC HELP! So we are totally torn on having a violinist, Harpist, or streaming our ipod. Recommendations? We would like have this included in our Disney BEO and NOT pay an outside vendor if possible.

PHOTO/VIDEO: after reading everyone PJ's, it seems like a lot of you used outside vendors for these and not Disney. I can't believe Disney doesn't include a CD of the photos!!! What the heck?!?!! Advice?!?!

Other than that, we fly to Beach Club March 1 for 6 night vacation!!!
