Yea for the update. Sorry you had a cra*py night at the GF. It is our very favorite, especially concierge, since we have had such awesome rooms and experiences there. I would have been sick from the smoker too, as I am allergic. When they made all the hotels smoke free I was ecstatic. What a jerk! Too bad you couldn't have gotten a turret room, then there would be no balcony for the jerk to somke on next to you.

Can't wait to see if you manage both HMs in one day!

[We’d been assigned a room on the second floor of the main building. I wonder if this is where they stick all the Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding comp-night guests – Summer had practically the same room!

Ah. Hmm. Well, I'm glad you and Summer got it, but I don't want the rest of the future GF-stayers to get their hopes up - we got stuck in a plain ol' room in one of the buildings out in the boonies. And it was super noisy. We actually ended up switching to the Beach Club for the rest of our stay after that - and it was a lot cheaper than the GF!

I can't believe your TR is almost at an end... how we will fill our days until your next one?

Great update Carrie. I'm sorry to hear about the smoking incident - I hate when people break the rules and then on top of that, ruin someone else's stay . I'm glad to hear that the GF did try to make it up to you.

I really love the GF, but I've never stayed there. DF isn't too crazy about it and would rather just stay at AKL the whole time like we had originally planned to. Thing is I'm really contemplating a split stay, but I don't know. Since you did both, AKL & GF - would you recommend a split stay?

Hey, I'm milking this one for all it's worth - there's still the last day, some high-larious pix from the day after, a special flashback to Day 2 (since I was so upset about it that I didn't write a TR for it), AND the at-home reception yet to come!

Thing is I'm really contemplating a split stay, but I don't know. Since you did both, AKL & GF - would you recommend a split stay?

I say do it! Marriage is all about compromise, or so I've heard , so you should get to stay the place you want if DH gets to stay where he wants. You could just do the last two days there, maybe.

Besides, as it turned out, Patrick really liked the GF - more than I did! I don't think you have to be a chick to appreciate luxury.

I'm so excited to see if you were able to do HM on both coasts in the same day. That would be so impressive. I think I would try to to Pirates, but that is just cuz its my favorite. I think I managed it 4 times in 3 days while I was at DLR.

Sounds like the GF was FAB, except for mr Jerk Smoker next door. sorry he ruined it for you. WDW should do like the non-smoking cruise ships do, confiscate all cigarettes and lighters before you check in!

Heeeelloooo my long lost Wedding Twin! I just caught up on your TR. I've been enjoying the honeymoon I didn't have right through you and your experiences!!!

I'm so sorry about your smoking experience at the GF. I totally appreciate what you're saying about deserving a do-over. You having to move because of some other dude is awful. DH and I smoke (less and less nowadays) but we always try to be extrememly respectful of those around us AND follow the rules!

I'm also very curious about this market cafe in celebration... good you say? I should try to check it out. We're breakfast FREAKS!

I can't believe I'm saying this, cuz Disneyland's Haunted Mansion is my all-time favorite ride, but right now WDW's Haunted Mansion is better! They added some new effects we don't have in CA. Plus, with the higher ceilings and more mansion-y feel, WDW's is a lot more immersive an experience. There. I said it.

Yeah, I didn't want to offend any smokers by writing about it, but as you said, that guy was just rude. If he'd been playing loud music or something it would have been just as bad.

I fully expected to like Citricos the best of all the places we ate. It was good food, just nothing that exciting or interesting - but then that probably has a lot to do with the Dining Plan-inspired reduction of all menus to the same combo of red meat, fish, and chicken. Also, it could have just been an off night. I'll have to go back!

He wants to build his future house as an exact replica of the Haunted Mansion. The DL one. Except, "with less scrolly green railing thingies... and a bigger tower" I told him we could build the stretching room elevator to go down to his secret office.

We aren't doing our DP at the marina, but from Sago Cay Pointe, but it was really cool to see how well you could see the fireworks. That is very reassuring. It seemed so far away to me before I saw your pix. I'm sorry you had to be in the same state, much less that close proximity, to that rude jerk. No WAY! I think Will and I were separated at birth - I've always wanted to build a replica of the Haunted Mansion to live in. I've been collecting things to put in it (mostly artwork) for years. Someone once sold dead stock rolls of the same wallpaper used in the foyer on eBay, but it was like $100 a roll.

...And I think "Over the Hedge" stole the "Steve" gag from me.

Anyhow...just had to let you know how much i LOVE your trippie. Everytime DF and I are at BW/BC/YC area I'm always talking about your 'first look' for your wedding in the lobby. And everytime we're in Epcot I'm always like "look! thats where carrie got married! ooh..and thats where that picture of them was! ooh..and this is where they went walking around at.." lol. Finally, on our most recent trip there DF was like "How much did this woman SPEND??" I proudly stated "She holds the record for closest over the minimum actually!" lmao

You know they sell prints of the stretching room portraits on Ebay, right? And Mirrors in the shape of the entrance plaque, and entrance plaque replicas and doorbells... occasionally a gargoyle sconce or something copied from the ride...

I'm serious about adding the elevator to the house though. How cool would that be?! You would access it via one of those 'bookshelf' doors (where you pull the bust on the desk!), and it would go down to the secret room. Fun times scaring the neighborhood children!

You and DH can come visit when we build it
