Ok, I've got everything planned out except our lunch when we arrive. We will be driving down (with a dog) and should be @ WDW by lunch. We have to get our weim checked in at her resort, then check-in at ours. We will not be doing any parks until the next day, and we don't have a dining reservation until 8pm that night. I'm looking for something cheap, and quick since I know we will be exhausted from driving all night....any suggestions?

I was thinking of maybe the pop century food court just so I can try some of the tye-dyed cheesecake.:confused3

Pop Century food court is great for lunch. However, I have another suggestion...

You could go into Downtown Disney and eat at Earl of Sandwich. It is very inexpensive, and the food is so good there! I had a caprese salad which was delicious, and everyone else had sandwiches. I tried a bite of DH's sandwich and it was delicious. Anything there should cost you around $6 (plus drink).

I've thought about that since we can just jump on the boat from POR and be there in no time. We have ate there before and liked it. I was just afraid DTD would be a mob scene since we are arriving on Memorial Day weekend.

DTD will probably be a mob scene that weekend, but the Earl of Sandwich would be a good choice, if you are patient.

Just my opinion...but if I were staying at POR on Memorial Day weekend...I would stay put and have lunch in the food court at POR. It's every bit as good as POP...just a little smaller. While I really like the food court at POP, I don't think it's worth driving from POR for.

Love Earl of Sandwich but my trips to DTD lately have been.....

Ma can you buy this.....Mom can I have that....Mama....can I please go on that...Mommy.....just another piece of candy....
Mom...can I buy another Mr. Potato head....
ya get the picture;)
Cheap lunch;)....not so much.

I would stick with POR....although I do love POP food court. Only place that has sloppy joe...soo good....reminds me of my favorite school lunch.

I can't recreate it....probably not even beef:rotfl2:
Happy planning

we love the pop food court! my dh's favorite is the chibata sandwich w/the homemade potatoe chips, i love the low mein noodles and they have a really good homemade chicken soup and that same station. we usually get settled in and go to dtd to eat @ wolfgang puck's to kick our trip off.

Kona Cafe is our choice for lunch. =D I LOVE their pulled pork tacos!!

Anyway, for Memorial Day weekend, I would definitely avoid DtD - especially after all that driving! If you feel like leaving your resort, I'd recommend one of the unsung monorail resort restaurants - Kona Cafe, The Wave, or The Grand Floridian Cafe. Otherwise, I'd just eat at POR's or POFQ's food court, take it back to the room and relax until you need to be up and out for your dinner ADR.
