I just booked lunch at Chef Mickey's in September and was wondering if the lunch and dinner menus were the same or similar, as we have food allergies and need to somewhat plan ahead.
TIA! :)

Hi, I was not aware that Chef Micky's have a lunch did you book an early dinner? I was told that Chef Micky's was only open for brkfst and dinner.

We tried lunch last September. We like dinner, but we weren't happy with lunch. The offerings weren't similar and we felt lunch was very skimpy. We were there on the last or next to last day they were offering it though, so that may have had something to do with it, though it shouldn't. There was salad fixings, a couple of pastas with veggies in them, some sort of stir-fried looking mix of veggies and stuff, one carved meat, I can't recall what it was sorry, a chicken and veggie dish, one fish dish, and a couple of other things. Nothing was what I would call "normal" food, meaning plain potatoes or pasta, except the carved meat which was tough. Most of the usual desserts were available though. It seemed a weird mix of foods to us, stuff that didn't really go together to make a meal. :confused3

To top it off we had the worst server we've ever had at Disney to date. Actually, he's the only server I'd call bad. Usually our service is good to excellent, but not that time. It was our first meal of the trip and didn't get us off to a good start, luckily everything went uphill from there, LOL. :goodvibes

I'd say that I hope your experience is better than ours, but it pretty much has to be.

I'm hoping that it's better. We've only done breakfast and were hoping to get the dinner reservation for this trip, but haven't been able to get it for any meal during any point of our stay, other than the lunch recommendation that a CM gave us after the umpteenth time calling.

My DM is the one allergic to so many things, that I'm worried now that since none of the offerings are "normal" as you mentioned, that this might not be a good option for us. :(

I Just Got off the phone with WDW and they will be serving lunch during the month of september, The menu sound good,Anyone else can tell me how the lunch was in the past, Should I go to Chef Micky's for lunch or the Coral Reef?

I know with most WDW restaurants, if not all, you can call and speak with the chef about any allergies. Not sure about CM's specifically, but it wouldn't hurt to try. Maybe they can whip up something special for your DM, or at least tell you what would be offered on the buffet that wouldn't be a problem.

We've spoken to the MK/Contemporary Chef's line already, but no one has been able to tell us exactly what the menu is going to be like (didn't think to ask about last year's), so we're unsure whether sticking with this one would be a good idea.

I think I'd keep it. I can't imagine a WDW restaurant NOT accomodating allergies. :goodvibes

YAY!!!! :woohoo: After what feels like hundreds of calls to Disney Dining, we finally got a dinner ADR! I feel much better about this as DM has identified several things that she will be able to eat.
Good luck to anyone else on their quest for a Chef Mickey's ADR during Free Dining! :thumbsup2
