Lunacy at WalMart

WOOOO HOO Zumba for WII??!!! I had no idea!!

Can't wait to get to Walmart , cause a ruckus and get my Zumba on lol. ; )

On the hunt now , really I am pretty excited lol.

:grouphug: So glad you didn't give in to her. Can you imagine how her kids act? And the manager should not have put you on the spot by suggesting that you could give her the game. Now go and enjoy your game, you defintely earned it.

I am so glad you didn't give it to her!

I wanted a the Zumba game for Christmas but didn't get it.

Have you played it yet? How is it? Inquiring minds want to know!

I tried it this morning. (If for no other reason than I needed to do something to calm down from the WalMart episode). I skipped the tutorial b/c I read that it was glitchy, but that the game was fine. Since I'm not one for reading instructions anyway, this is fine with me. I did the 20 minute beginner workout and it was a lot of fun. I can see why people like this and it did kick my butt a little bit.

As for the walmart episode, yeah, I did kind of resent the manager even suggesting that I give it to her, but I felt kind of bad for him, too, bc/ he was just looking for a way to get this woman out of his store without an incident. He thought if I just handed it over, she'd leave and all would be great. And, like I told him, had she not been a total nut about it, I probably would have b/c I know it will be in stock somewhere else, some other time and I wasn't desperate. But at that point I was just thinking, "Look lady, we don't get everything we want in life just b/c we want it!"

I can't believe how you kept yourself together through all that. Good for you for handling the way you did!

:scared1: Good gravy ...

It almost reminds me of the Cabbage Patch Kids lunacy back in 1983! I am so happy that you didn't give it (Or give in) to "Crazyness" (:rotfl2:). Seriously though, it seems as if she has some deep-rooted issues. Glad that you made it out of Walmart safely.

Happy Zumbaing!

My Mom had her Cabbage doll taken out of her cart. It started a major fight with other people coming to her rescue yelling at that woman. She tried hard to claim she didn't do any such thing. The lady was happy to give up the doll once my Mom told her that it was for her Gdd and her other grandfather was a FBI agent.

OP good for you for not giving it up. I've given up the last items before and have them given up to me but only because those involved were considerate of others. People need to learn how far being nice can get you.

I remember that! I didn't ask for one b/c of that. I just thought why would someone act like that over a dang doll? I was a kid too. My gma since I didn't ask but knew I wanted one made me one!! she had my name on her on hr butt. :cloud9:
Thanks gma!

Come back with a review of Zumba. I have Xbox Kinect and the reviews on Amazon stink. Let me know how you liked it! :thumbsup2

I found her picture.

People never fail to provide tons of amusement, I'm glad to hear you didn't give in to her freak-show. At least you get a entertaining story out of it, too bad you didn't catch a video of the rant because "People of Walmart" is always adding new material.

Something like this happened to me at a Kmart once, only it involved the foodcourt breadsticks and I was seven months pregnant. :lmao: I called 911 because the manager was stupid and refused to escort me out after the women fled to the parking lot.
I'm soooo glad you got your Zumba, my crazylady bolted with said breadsticks. I did not even get a refund! The police were great and followed me home.

You guys know that WalMart didn't actually detain the woman, right?
Arrest? No. Keep in a location separate from the OP for the OP's safety and peace of mind, for a period of time until the OP was out of the store and out of the parking lot? Yes - and that, too, is a definition of 'detain'.

Im so glad you didn't give in! I hate that people will scream and shout and people give in because they are tired of dealing with them. It makes them KEEP doing it because they know it works. Sorry, it is a HUGE pet peeve of mine, it happens almost daily at my workplace! Good Job!!

Good job for teaching her something that she should have learned loooong ago: bad behavior does not get rewarded! How she thought she was more deserving of the game than you is just beyond a 'normal' person's way of thinking. Glad you stuck to your guns. Wal-Mart is the 7th circle of hell.

I don't understand why it took 30 minutes. Why wouldn't they just check you out? Why make you stand there listening to a crazy lady?

I think the lady is the wife of the guy in the coffee shop on the "Are we too stressed" thread. :lmao:

From the DIS to the line at the coffee shop I see more and more examples of people flying off the handle for, seemingly, ridiculous things.

Is this a case where we, as a society, are wayyy overstressed, or is something else going on?

This morning I saw a man go into full tirade mode, complete with profanities, about the fact that the guy at Dunkin' Donuts poured him a medium coffee, instead of a large. A simple, "Excuse me, I ordered a large, not a medium," obviously didn't suffice, but, instead, the man practically lept over the counter to undress the worker in front of a line of customers. :confused3

I don't think the lady in WalMart was mentally ill, just seriously self-centered. :sad2:

The clerk was a kid. He didn't know how to react, so he just kind of tried to talk her down at first and be polite. I don't know but what he thought she might have some legitimate claim on it and if he checked me out he'd get in trouble. By the time the manager got there, it was like the video game had become a hostage. The woman was so adamant that it was hers, I think everyone in the room was kind of like, "Well, we hate to give it to her and she's certainly not entitled to it, but we hate to give it to this other lady, too, because it's going to upset this other person." Plus, I think there was just the whole shock factor. This woman was so out there everyone was kind of standing around paralyzed, jaws hanging open and like, "Wow. What the..." By the time the manager got decisive and decided to just end it by taking me somewhere else, it had been about 30 minutes.
