Lulu201's Healthy Living Log (comments welcome!)

Okay Everyone! Come into Erin's Journal and Gather Around for a Group Hug. Everyone ready - Doe stop giving Sharon bunny ears! Okay and .... :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I love your entry from the book you are reading. That is some really great stuff and worth remembering. Thank you for sharing it. I love to read - it is one of my hobbies and there is so much to learn from taking 20 minutes and reading something informative.

I know you are going to :boat: the wave today with the Dzone. If you feel yourself getting close to binge mode give into temptation and satisfy that munchie monster. Maybe try to find a low point snack you could have. Like low fat chocolate pudding?

I'll be thinking about you today!

~Amanda

Go Erin, go Erin, you can do it, go Erin (read in sing-song manner).

Yep, nothing like a teen girl to make you lose some hair, sleep and patience! And during D-zone too! How cruel!

You inspire me, girl! I even reserved that book from the library to read more - altho I love your quotes. Food for thought (with absolutely no calories!)

Hang tough, sweetie! It's all downhill from today (downhill in a good way, of course)

Mare

Erin, I hope you are hanging in there so far today! I'm sending lots of good vibes :goodvibes your way! You can make it through this d-zone! You'll be feeling better by Saturday! :happy1:

I like Amanda's idea of a low points indulgence like fat free chocolate pudding or maybe one of your famous Skinny Cows? :p

Amanda, you weren't supposed to tell Sharon about the bunny ears until AFTER we snapped the group photo!!!  :teeth:

I'm also getting a lot out of "Erin's book time". Thanks for posting all these very insightful quotes!

Oops, I see another big hill coming up on the roller coaster! Now, don't tense up your muscles - just try to breathe deep and relax and go with the motion. We'll :boat: right through together! :grouphug:

Love ya, WISH-sis!

Erin - hang in there girl. I know you can make it throught the dzone. I'm glad you were able to get a walk in. It's amazing how some exercise can help us get through a tough day. Keep your head up high - you are doing a great job.

Steph, Doreen, Mare, Amanda, and Beth: Your posts today filled me with such happiness and strength. You picked me right up and carried me through this day! I'm cheat free because of your support. Thank you, all.:grouphug:

This morning started kind of rough and while some things are still unresolved at work, things have calmed down at home. Thank goodness.:p I feel successful because I stayed on plan and didn't use food to distract or to comfort me.

I finished the day like this:

1. Vitamins--10/31
2. Water--10/31
3. Exercise--7/31
4. Food--22 points, 8/31

I'm still working on lesson plans (due tomorrow!), so I'd better get them finished up.

Good night. . .and thank you.

Erin

Long, long day today. I have to be in the studio before 8 a.m. and won't be home until 7:30-8:00 tonight. It's OK, though--there'll be lots of music and smiles to get me through the day.

The plan:

1. The vitamins.
2. The water.
3. No exercise today, but I already have some hopes for tomorrow.
4. The food. . .shooting for 22.
b--oatmeal and coffee=5
l--1/2 subway wrap and WOW chips=6 or so
s--cheese stick and or yogurt=2-4
d--1/2 subway wrap and some veggies=5
That leaves a couple of points to play with.

I'm on my way to work. Bye.

Edit: Thanks, everyone for stopping in and offering me your good wishes. It helped a lot. I'm barely hanging in--I'm so ready to just plow my way through the kitchen. I'm running to bed as soon as I'm done here.

Stats up to date:

1. Vitamins--11/31
2. Water--11/31
3. Exercise--7/31
4. Food--9/31; I have to fix my clippie and go to bed.

I know you can't post to your journal while at work, but I bet you'll sneak a peek here during the day! ;)

My dearest Erin, I'm sending loads of extra :sunny: your way today! Close your eyes and feel it warming you. Soak up its energy and brightness (aren't we all solar powered to some extent?? :p ). Let it help you to refuel for your busy day ahead.

Count your many blessings - they are all around you. There are miracles, large and small, happening around us every day! The world is a good place to be!

Take extra good care of you today - you truly are worth it!! :sunny:

Erin,

I'm in Mom mode today, so I'm posting to remind you to take care of yourself today. You are very busy today. Try to take a few seconds of Me time occasionally through the day. You've planned out your food, and it looks yummy. Pamper yourself tonight, if you can. You are worth it.
:sunny: and  ,
Beth

hey erin, i just got to catch up on your journal. i knew it was dzone time, and i hope you're making it through okay! i know it's really hard, but you seem to have a great plan, and that book that you are reading (and so generously quoting :) ) sounds like it is really having a positive effect on you. heck, it's having a positive effect on me too!

i know you had a long and busy day today, so i hope that you made it through to the other side :). have a wonderful evening when you see this :bounce:

:sunny: Good morning to you, good morning dear princess: , good morning to you! :sunny:

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I'm sending extra sun, lots of hugs and some d-zone-fighting pixie dust!

Hope you are feeling better soon! It's Friday - you're almost into the weekend! I also happen to know that you have big PLANS this weekend for some serious walk & chat with a friend! :D

Hang in there for one more day, Erin! You're bound to turn the corner on this d-zone any minute now!

:sunny: Good morning! It's Friday!:p :sunny:

Well, today was weigh-in, and I stayed the same! :Pinkbounc Now, I honestly have mixed feelings about this--it IS the second week that I've weighed in at 162, but if I look at the cup as half full, I can see that this is the first time that I can remember that I didn't gain during the D-Zone. Seriously. I ALWAYS gain. . .that is, except this time. :p I'm choosing to be grateful and happy and to stay committed to my healthy living program.

Thank you Doreen, Beth, and Marcia, for all your support yesterday. I felt surrounded by your TLC and that made quite a difference. I think that I've passed through the worst of the D-zone now; I'll have the weekend to catch up on some things--like sleep!:o --so I should be OK.

Today's agenda:

1. Vitamins--done. :D
2. Water--first glass done. :D
3. Exercise--the goal is to walk through my old WW walking cassette, approx. 55 min. It's not too strenuous; I'm hoping to get in about 3 miles.
4. Food--b was oatmeal/coffee at 4 today, L will be a salad of some sort, how big and filling it is will depend on what DH wants to do for dinner tonight. (I know you're all thinking "Chinese Buffet," but I'm hoping to steer him elsewhere for a change of pace!)

I'm going to catch up on a few things at home this morning before I head on into work. DD has a sleepover tonight; DH and I are looking forward to some healing quiet time--it's been quite a week.:p Tomorrow I'm doing some Jock Athlete Princess Walking princess: princess: and housework. It should be a pretty relaxed pace this weekend.

I'm going to pop around at journals on and off throughout the morning. . .

E.

I haven't been to a Chinese Buffett in forever but I know what you mean about trying to change from going to the same place all the time. DH always wants pizza. A low carbers nightmare!

Good luck on yoiur walk today! Your Jock Athlete Princess Walking princess: princess: sounds like fun!

~Amanda

Hi Erin,

It is wonderful that you haven't gained during Dzone. That is a major accomplishment. I'd bet money that you'll see a major Whoosh next week. Sounds like you have your usual busy Friday/weekend. You did say that you were looking forward to quiet time with DH. It is safe to assume that the sleepover is not at your house then. Try to pamper yourself today.
 and :sunny:
Beth

Hi Lulu!

Sounds like you are doing wonderfully! Keep up the good work and be sure to enjoy that quiet time with your DH!

Desireé

 Hi, Desiree! Thanks for stopping by! You're right, Beth, the sleepover isn't at our house! That's what makes it such a good idea for DD! Amanda, I only did 2 miles, but that's enough for today. I have other things to do--like make lunch!:p

I'm doing OK so far today, but I'm way behind with getting stuff done. I've had some more water, accomplished the exercise, and am having a big yummy salad with chicken, eggs, blue cheese dressing ( ) for lunch. I'm going to try to eat a lot of filling stuff during the day so I don't have Friday Fall-Apart (make it through the week, get weighed in, then eat everything in sight on the weekend!). I have to be good; I have to give Doreen a food report! :p

All right, back to work, more later. . .

Yep, I'll be checking up on you!

Extra laps if you're naughty!! :p ;)

Here are the stats from yesterday:

1. Vitamins--12/31
2. Water--12/31
3. Exercise--8/31
4. Food--10/31

Well, DD is away at a sleepover, DH and I can go anywhere we'd like for dinner and you know what I choose? BURGER KING! YUK!
But, yeah, I chose it. It was after 7 p.m., I didn't want to wait at some fancier place because I knew my control would be low, and I wanted a burger, so we ended up at B.K. on our date night!
I had what I wanted, though--a burger and onion rings. After dinner DH and I went to Blockbuster and picked up "Seabiscuit," which I fell asleep in (yep, a romantic night at home:p) and then I had him take me to Dippy Lou's, an ice cream place right next to the movie store. I had a small serving of praline pecan ice cream w/peanut butter syrup (I know, but I gave up chocolate for Lent!).
I came home, and . . . .that was it. No further Fri. night bingeing--nothing.

So, the way I look at Friday is this: I worked hard on my plan through the Dzone all week. I chose a "reward meal" for myself with foods I don't usually eat, but I didn't binge afterwards--I "blocked it in" (a phrase from my "Thin Tastes Better" book). While I don't know what the points are (Doreen almost dared me to figure them out!:p ), it satisfied my desire for red meat and fat!
I know, I'll consider it carb loading for my Jock Athlete Princess Walk! Anyway, I'm back to healthy eating today, and I feel good about last night (except for the part where I fell asleep on poor DH).

So, I'm off and walking today. Doreen and I hope to get in a couple of hours of solid walking before we hit the stores. . .wish us luck!

The plan:

1. Vitamins
2. Water
3. Exercise and lots of it!
4. Food--22 target plus a number of AP; I'll have to figure this out.

More later. . .

Erin

That ice cream sounds delish Erin! You and I both had nights out it seems and neither one of us made the best choices - but ya know what today is a new day! And I know you are going to be racking up some miles with Doe today so you will work off those extra points. :) I'll be thinking of you guys while I do my Firm Tape!

~Amanda

Erin have a great time this morning walking and shopping. I can't wait for warmer weather so I can you sometime. Your "date" night sounded great. It's definitely better to let yourself eat those cravings foods in sensible amounts rather than deprive yourself and end up binging.
