MM registration..

Got in queue at 10:49, at 11:00 one minute wait entered membership id # told no valid reservation. Re entered queue again 4 minute wait. Told again no valid reservation. Tried to enter queue again advised my queue number was used at 11:04. Entered queue again, given 25 minute wait, then queue paused at 11:09. Then when queue started back up given 15 minute wait. Event full at 5 minutes left. Not surprised. Disney IT as a whole has been very bad for years and years.

It's hard to forget the mess they made of getting a "DVC Y" added to the Disney MagicMobile Pass. That took 6 weeks for them to FINALLY add it to my pass.

Most revisions would upset some chunk of the member base. No solution will make everyone happy.

I think you should have to be staying on direct points which I thought was the rules to begin with but evidently not. This will cut out a lot of eligibility since now people can stay on resale points. I know this would make most people unhappy though.

What % of direct point tho? 100%? 50%?

The IT glitch got me today too…I stayed online, waited and it still said no valid reservation. Got booted, then it came back that HS was full…called Mr. Svs to see if my reservation was indeed correct/qualifying. All I can say is IT was not able to provide any clarity just a “sorry, it happened to everyone”but, they did say all member complaints will be escalated higher. This is no isolated incident. There have been numerous glitches over the years with this system. So, if you feel so inclined, sent an email detailing your experience. Hopefully they will fix the entire process. IMO. They should just set a date and time, in person, same day registration/entry at the park for those with reservations on the corresponding date. When they hit capacity, close it down.

Gg

Where did you see this?
I got the email myself. I was someone who made it through the queue before the line was shutdown and was told I didn’t have a valid hotel reservation. But, I got back in line and made it through successfully a second time for the TL event. If I had been trying for HS, I would not have made it.

I checked my email and we got one too. Thank goodness.

I was going to try again next week but that registration is super slim chance. Glad they are clearing this up before proceeding with that registration. Very Glad!

If already booked modify to use direct points.
How would that work? At 11 months, your contracts are locked into the order you chose when you booked the reservation. If you have a mixture of points that are resale and direct, isn't your whole membership considered to be DVC-Y?

To be frank, I think that today's SNAFU just highlighted how much Disney IT struggles to identify the many different levels of DVC ownership there are. If their system can't even make the connection between a reservation which was made by a qualifying membership, can we really expect it to identify whether an owner's points that were used for a multi-night stay specifically uses direct points for the one night of MM?

Like I said not all would be happy. If they cant do that, which I am sure they can if they wanted too. Then at minimum under the same membership.

Next up early registration should require all parties to be staying in the room. Names should be collected. I see so many people giving non DVC strangers tickets on the internet.
