Lulu201's Healthy Living Journal--Just trying my best to walk the walk! Come on by!

:sunny: Good morning, princess: Lulu!! :sunny:

I loved your devotion this morning, especially the prayer "Lord, catch me when I slip and fall, and set me safe again on Your sure path." This really spoke to my heart and comforted me. Thanks for sharing it.

You are doing so great!! You are truly living in a healthy way, Erin, and I bet it shows. I wouldn't be surprised to see a spring in your step and a warm smile on your face and a twinkle in your eyes. You sound relaxed and centered and ready to take life as it comes.

Bravo for your perspective on the weekend mountain trip. You are very wise.

Best wishes for a wonderful 6 smilie fun and healthy day!

Good morning Erin! :sunny:

You are doing a great job! Your 6 :) days are really started to add up! :Pinkbounc

Have a wonderful day today!

I like your devotion today! :) Sounds like you've got a good plan started and the motivation to stick to it. I know I like it when the scale moves to the left on weigh in day!

~Amanda

Hi Erin,

You have things together girlfriend. You sound determined and hapy with yourself. Keep up the great woek.
Take care,
Beth

Good morning Erin!

Did yesterday end up being a 6 :) day, too? You are doing such a fabulous job! I am so proud of you!

Have a wonderful day! :flower:

Just popping in to say hi :wave2: and wish you a magical day! :sunny:

Love ya, WISH-sis!

:guilty: No 6 :) for me yesterday. Only 5. I'm quickly learning that these 5 are good, but I'll only see results at weight loss if I get this eating thing down (duh).

Here's where I'm at:

1. I've read my devotions 5 out of 5 days.
2. I've taken my vitamins 5 out of 5 days.
3. I've had 6-8 glasses of water 5 out of 5 days.
4. I've exercised 5 out of 5 days.
5. I've eaten in a healthy way 3 out of 5 days.
6. I've faced the scale on 5 out of 5 days.

Here's the plan for today:

1. Devotions--haven't done them yet
2. Vitamins--haven't taken them yet
3. Water--haven't had any yet
4. Exercise--haven't done it yet (though I'm dressed)
5. Food--english muffin, pb, coffee, berries=5
6. Scale-- :) Oh, I've done it and it wasn't pretty.

I MUST STAY ON MY FOOD PLAN! Last night I ended up at Saladworks--which isn't bad--but then I started grazing around the kitchen at 9 or so. Not good, but today's a new day and I will try, try again. Thank goodness weigh-in is on Friday.

I'm off and into the day--
Erin

Edit: OK, here's a quick update:

1. Devotions :)
Daily Thoughts:
A Time to Think:
Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do . . . Where there's love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong. -Ella Fitzgerald
To Act:
Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.
To Pray:
Lord, thank You for the opportunities we’re given to share the message of faith with one another every day.

2. Vitamins :)
3. Water--12 oz. done
4. Exercise--well, I'm still not sure about this one. I think a 30 min., 2 miler will be enough. It's kind of hot and muggy out there, but I'm going to JUST DO IT!

Edit: OK, I got #4 done :) ;30 minutes added to my exercise total. Another glass of water, too; I'm 2/6.

Yikes, I've got to hurry. Still have to get the dog out, get coffee, and head to work.

Plan for today:

1. Devotions :)
Daily Thoughts:
A Time to Think:
We are continually faced by great opportunities brilliantly disguised as insoluble problems. --Lee Iococca
To Act:
Recognize that growing and becoming is a life-long process.
To Pray:
Lord, teach me to see in the hurdles of today the training ground of hope for tomorrow.
2. Vitamins--gotta grab 'em as I go out the door
3. Water--haven't even started
4. Exercise--it's a rest day. No smilie here. :sad2:
5. Food--4 pts. for breakfast
6. Scale-- :) Better than yesterday.

Yesterday was mediocre as far as healthy living goes:

1. I've read my devotions 6 out of 6 days.
2. I've taken my vitamins 6 out of 6 days.
3. I've had 6-8 glasses of water 5 out of 6 days.
4. I've exercised 6 out of 6 days.
5. I've eaten in a healthy way 3 out of 6 days.
6. I've faced the scale on 6 out of 6 days.

No smilies for water or food. I find that as I'm stressing about getting things done for camp, I'm stress eating along with it. Today I'll try to break out of that pattern.

Gotta go--
More later.
Erin

Why are you giving yourself a frowny face for a rest day? Rest days are part of the routine, you have to give your body rest days! Now go back and edit your post so that you rest day has a :sunny: or a ::MickeyMo or a :3dglasses It should be a positive and not a negative! How are you going to go through the day thinking positive when at 8:30 you've already given yourself a frowny face.

Tsk tsk!

;)

~Amanda

I'm with Amanda on this one, dear Erin! You should count those rest days as smilies - I bet you're REALLY GOOD at avoiding exercise on those days. ;)

Seriously, even when the rest day is because you are too busy to exercise, you should give yourself a smilie for allowing those muscles to take a break and rebuild. Now if you get into the habit of 6 rest days in a row, we'll have to re-evaluate. :p

I can feel the stress you're under and it is so so hard to stay healthy when you are stressed. Try to pin down EXACTLY what is stressing you, instead of letting yourself feel this all-over everything-is-crazy anxiety. If you can pinpoint the problem areas, you can do something about them or decide they really aren't a big deal.

If you need a KofP break over the weekend, you just let me know. Todd's looking for an excuse for a long drive. ;) If that doesn't work out and you just need some phone time to vent, you've got my number.

Love ya

OK, your kindnesses are just too much. . .now I may have to cry. You know I was already kind of negative when I posted the frowny for exercise. . .well, i came to the studio and opened the door to . . .water. Flooding from last nights' rains that hit the town that our studio's in . Right now everything is totally discombobulated--pianos have been moved to another building, camp materials are all up high, furniture and instruments all moved, all lessons cancelled--as we try to get ready for the full wrath of Cindy tonight. I was moderately stressed before because I have so many things to do for camp (buying t-shirts, getting the transfers done, completing the set); now I'm just kind of blown away. I know, though, that all things work for good and that we'll manage our way through this day by coming day. I'll just keep walking :) (but I can't promise I won't have a donut along the way. :p ).

I love you, friends. :grouphug:
Erin

Edit around 2:45: OK, I'm calm again. Sometimes there are days like these.

Update: My mother-in-law just emailed that she's going to have open heart surgery next Wednesday.

If you have some time, girlfriends, please send up a prayer for my mother-in-law Suzanne. She's having a tough time right now.

Erin

Oh Erin,

I wish I could be there to help you with everything that needs to be done and to give you a great big hug. I am so sorry about the flooding. :( Please know that you, your family, your students, and your MIL will be in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

 for you, sweetie, oh and an extra one too  - sounds like you can use 'em all! ::yes::

I'm so sorry to hear about the water. :(

I'll certainly keep your MIL in my prayers through her surgery and recovery, along with the rest of the family, because we all know it isn't just the patient who is affected.

DH is a whiz at building things so if you need a set construction hand over the weekends, let me know. We work cheap. :p

 - yes another one, thrown in for good measure.

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
I'm sending extra sunshine to help dry things out for you. I'm afraid all this extra rain is not helping the studio. :(

Talked to DH and he said he'd be very happy to lend a hand over the weekend - let me know if we can help you in any way.

Much  &, dear WISH-sis

 Thanks for your offer, dear WISH-sis, but at this moment we're OK. We'll just have to see what the day brings. I'm hopeful, though, because today is a brand new gift from God! I'm sure the challenges of yesterday--though small compared to the challenges some had to face--have helped make me stronger in some way.

Yesterday was not a healthy day. But I have grand plans for today. :p

1. Devotions: :)
Daily Thoughts:
A Time to Think:
Remember, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.-Dale Carnegie
To Act:
Resolve not to magnify small problems.
To Pray:
Lord, help me to be a faithful steward of all the life that surrounds me.
2. Vitamins--will take
3. Water--will drink
4. Exercise--will try
5. Food--WILL EAT ON PROGRAM!
6. Scale-- :sad2: , but I got on it anyway. :)

Yesterday's totals:

1. I've read my devotions 7 out of 7 days.
2. I've taken my vitamins 6 out of 7 days.
3. I've had 6-8 glasses of water 5 out of 7 days.
4. I've exercised 7 out of 7 days. (I gave myself a :) 'cause my WISH friends said to!)
5. I've eaten in a healthy way 3 out of 7 days.
6. I've faced the scale on 7 out of 7 days.

So I got :) :) :) . Today's a new day, though, and I'm on my way. Moving forward and looking UPWARD!

Erin

Edit: I've had a glass of water. I've also had breakfast at 7.5 points. Lunch will be yogurt and fruit--3. Dinner will be out, so I have to plan for it. I want to feel sorry for myself, sorry that I can't eat whatever I want when I go out, but the truth is, I CAN eat whatever I want, but I choose instead to eat in a healthier way because I don't like feeling like an ELEPHANT!

Edit: 3 glasses of water done now, plus my yogurt and fruit--I'm at 10.5 points for the day. I'm going to go grab some celery and then do some shopping for camp. I'll need a boat to get whereever I need to go, but so be it. :umbrella:

Edit: It's about 7:10 p.m. and I calling it a :) :) :) :) :) :) day! I've had all the water, the vitamins, the exercise (only 1.25, but it still counts), and the healthy eating. Today was a success!

Oh my gosh Erin! If it isn't one thing it is another. I hope the studio will be able to dry out quickly! I'll say a prayer for your mother-in-law. I'm sure she has excellent doctors who will be able to make her surgery as painless as possible.

I'm sending lots of :goodvibes good vibes :goodvibes your way!

~Amanda

:sunny: It's a sunny day! :sunny:

Today's plan:

1. Devotions :)
2. Vitamins :)
3. Water--1st of 2 32 oz. mugs has been started!
4. Exercise--all dressed and ready for a couple of miles in the morning :sunny: .
5. Food--breakfast was 3.
6. Scale :)

Lots to do as I get closer to camp. The studio's in total disarray, but I'm just taking it one thing at a time. It'll all happen. I'm happy about yesterday's 6 :) , and I'm glad I've got 3 :) under my belt for today. I'm more determined than ever to keep my healthy habits as I go through this busy week. I've got to keep the balance! :goodvibes

Update from yesterday:

1. I've read my devotions 8 out of 8 days.
2. I've taken my vitamins 7 out of 8 days.
3. I've had 6-8 glasses of water 6 out of 8 days.
4. I've exercised 8 out of 8 days.
5. I've eaten in a healthy way 4 out of 8 days.
6. I've faced the scale on 8 out of 8 days.

Moving onward, looking Upward, kicking that scale downward! :p
Erin

Edit: exercise (2.5) done, 2nd 32 oz.-er started.

Edit: it's almost noon. I've had 8 points so far. Lunch will be a chicken burrito supreme at 8.5. I'm sitting at the studio right now working on props/crafts for the camp kids. The studio is still TOTALLY torn apart; we're waiting for the landlord to call with info re: the steam cleaning. In the midst of this total chaos and confusion I feel a certain peace. . .even as anxiety
dances around me. I just know that by some remarkable touch by God's hand it'll all work out and get done. Even though we have 45 hours 'til we start this camp!

Edit: it's almost 6 p.m., I think. Dinner will be two slices of DH's homemade pizza--I'm figuring 18 points. I've had a total of 17.5 so far today, so I've got 6.5 plus 2 AP plus 9.5 in the bank to cover it. It hasn't been easy staying on plan today--our neighbor brought over some fudge from the shore--but I know that the good feeling I'll get from those smilies will be better than the feeling I get if I indulge and then have to see that number go back up on the scale. I'm just going to keep plugging along!

Erin

You sound centered and ready to make the most of your day! :sunny:

Best wishes for getting everything done over the next days. I'm sending :goodvibes and will keep you and music camp in my prayers.

 &

:flower: Things always work out. The landlord offered us another space to use (the space we'd like to move to eventually!) and now things are beginning to take shape. :cloud9: DH, DD, and I made lots of progress today. I'll go back tonight for a little while, but we're on the right road. Thanks, Doreen, for your good :goodvibes .

Erin
