I've never used Magical Express before, but will this trip. I received the yellow luggage tags.

If I am going to pick up my luggage from the carousel before checking in with ME, do I still need to use the yellow tag? Or is that only if ME staff are getting it for me?

if you are picking up your own luggage (and bypassing the best part of ME IMHO) do not put the yellow tags on your luggage.

I would recommend using the tags and the delivery service. Unless you have a late arrival, the bags will be at your resort soon.

We always have a great experience. The airline is more likely to mishandle your bags than ME.

I absolutely agree. I can't understand why so many people don't want to use the best part of the service. :confused3

I agree! To me it is what makes it "magical", why anyone would want to lug their own luggage I'll never understand. :thumbsup2

I agree with the above posters. OP - mind if we ask why you plan to not take advantage of the ease and convenience of allowing Magical Express to transport your luggage to your room?

Thanks for the replies. I hadn't really made up my mind yet, whether to pick up the luggage myself or let ME do it. Wanted to gather info first.

Someone mentioned if I get in late, I may want to get it myself. Does that mean late, as in 10PM, or anytime after 6pm, etc.? My plane lands at 6:30 PM. How long does it take to get the luggage to the room if ME picks it up? I'm staying at BWV. Also, if I go to dinner after I check in, how would I tip the person who brings the bags if I'm not there?

This is going to be a new experience, as I usually always have a car.

Thanks!

your bags should be in your room within 3 hours of checking in. Bring everything you need for the first 24 hours in your carryon, just in case the airline delays your bags. If your bags aren't there when you're ready to go to bed, just call bell services and ask them to hold your bags until morning.

If you allow ME to transport your bags, they will pay the tip. However, if you get your bags yourself, you will need to tip the driver for handling your bags.

Between 10 PM and either 5 or 5 AM, Guests must pick up their own luggage before proceeding to the Welcome Center. Disney doesn't.

Otherwise, let DME transport your luggage!
