Luggage size restrictions

I must have both.
Checked size bag AND packing cubes. See previous comments about being an overpacker and needing several spare outfits for each trip
Another item that is a must, M.U.S.T. for any bag I use, spinner wheels. I will not use anything else.

Me too. I also love how the packing cubes fit perfectly into my large suitcase. They keep everything so neat and organized!

I love the ability to compartmentalize stuff. For example, we are arriving late and staying at the airport Hyatt. I can simply throw the clothing that I will need for that first night (PJ's, undies and clothes for the morning) into a medium packing cube. When we get to the hotel, all I have to unpack is that one cube. It makes re-packing in the morning a breeze too. Or, another example, on our last day of vacation, we may hang out at the pool before our flight. I can throw our suits and change of clothes into a large packing cube and then store my luggage with bell services. When we are ready to leave, I can throw it back into the packing cube and toss the entire cube into the suitcase without having to worry about rearranging everything.

Normally I pack the same number of outfits for 4 days in Vegas, or 3 weeks in Europe. The difference is whether you do laundry or not. I went to Europe for 3 weeks in a carry-on bag (doing laundry every week).
But when I go to WDW, unless it is the dead of winter, I plan on two outfits per day. If I have access to a washing machine, then I bring 4 lightweight outfits and wash. If not, I have to use a bigger suitcase.

Amazing what good advice you can pick up on the DIS!! Because I asked the question, I bought a handy luggage scale that I can actually pack and take with me and now I've learned about packing cubes! You all rock - thanks so much!

I love the packing cubes!! I used to sell luggage, and I have seen the good, bad, and the ugly of suitcases and packing aids. I used to have to weigh my suitcase by using the bathroom scale with me on it, holding the suitcase!! My first wheeled suitcase was a humongous 29 incher with snap on wheels and a leash. It was like pulling a 50 lb dog who preferred to flop on the ground and have me drag him, than to walk!

I love our luggage scale. It wasn't completely a necessity but it saves me from having to ask my husband "hey honey do you think this is under 50lbs?" :rotfl2:

And that goes both ways-going on vacation and coming back from vacation (cuz you know souvenirs ). Ours is basically this so it's easy to take with us for the trip home:
