Now, I have a slight pet peeve and it comes up here. While you are waiting in line, look at the menu! I mean don’t wait until you are at the register to look at the menu. I watched a family of four do this in our line. I was amazed…you spent ten minutes waiting and you couldn’t read the menu then?

Oh so true, great reviews. Can't wait for our trip!!

do you remember what the assorted pastries at Marrakesh were?

Unfortunately, my server just dropped them off and didn't tell me anything about them. The pastry on the bottom left is the one that stands out in my mind...it had a nutty cinnamon filling that was yummy. I remember that the pastry was good on the other two, but can't remember any filling. I looked back at the menu and it doesn't describe them at all. Sorry...

Thanks for your great reports. I'm so glad someone else has little peeves like me. Sometimes I don't even know I have them until I experience them! I tell myself I'm just human, not evil.

Can't wait for more .....

Thanks for the great reviews. Can you just get appetizers and desserts in Morroco?? Do they have CS???

Yes the Morocco pavilion has CS at "Tangierine Cafe". I'm sure you can get just appetizers and/or desserts at Marrakesh. It's has a menu (http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_mor.htm ) from which you can order. On the menu are a couple combination meals, one of which was described in the review.

(Wow prices have gone up! The two combo meals were $28 and $30 less than 15 months ago. Now they're $32 and $35!)

I agree...I also think that it would be fairly easy to get into Marrakesh for appetizers and dessert. Depending on the time of year, you might not need a PS. The place had many empty tables when I ate there in January.

Actually...going for appetizers and desserts would be the way to go, I think...

As for CS, I haven't tried it, so I don't know...

The prices did go up... SIGH!

Well, I will be back with more soon...up next is Boma's, Dole Whips, Goofy's Candy Co., and Earl of Sandwich!

ttfn,
Tara

Great reviews! I am now starving and it's still hours until lunch!

Mental note: only read Tara's reviews in the afternoon! :teeth:

I have to reply before I read further!

We had Anne as our server at the GF High Tea last year. She made the experience absolutely amazing! Isn't it something the way a server can make or break your experience?

I'm loving your reviews! Keep them coming!

Thanks for sharing the reviews! :) I have decided next time we go to Marrakesh, I am going to order the Combination Appetizer for Two as my entree and split the couscous with DH with it. The Beef Brewat Rolls & Chicken Bastilla are my favorite part of the menu.

The pastry is called "Baklava." It's made from phyllo, walnuts and honey.

Unfortunately I'm new around here and I can't post any links yet, but if you're interested you can get more info from Wikipedia.

BTW, I'm enjoying your photos, trip reports and food reviews. Thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2

You know...I thought it was called baklava, but when I mentioned that to my mother, she said that it was German. I didn't think that was right, but I don't argue if I don't have facts to back me up! Alas, I was right. Go Tara, Go Tara, go go Tara :woohoo:

Yep, it's baklava. This is also served in Greek restaurants, but AFAIK not connected with German cuisine. One of the best desserts ever if done right!

An amazing, delightful, delicious review!!

Thank you - you write so well, you experiences make me think,,, maybe just maybe I could do a solo trip... I dine solo every now and again at home, cant imagine how WDW would be solo - but your trip and dining reports I dont have to imagine!! Way cool!! Thanks!!

Wonderful review. I love the pics of the food. I can't wait for my 2007 trip. You have also made me think about trying a solo trip but my 2 DS (ages 8 and 10) and DH would kill me if I tried to go without them.

Can't wait to read more.

...it pours! Not only did I have a sore throat this weekend, but I managed to throw my back out too! :scared: :guilty: I was changing the spark plug wires on my car in the frigid cold with the wind blowing on my back...I go to stand up and :crazy2: my back froze up! I spent the rest of the weekend flat on my back on the heating pad. I am doing better today and can actually sit up, so I will try and post the next episode...

ttfn,
TT

How was your stay at SSR? We will be staying there in June with our 3 year old. Thanks!
p.s. We have the same bunny! I just came across him yesterday while cleaning out a closet.
