I see it's a little different . Only 1 device can be used now because you put in your ID early. I have a question, I am booked on my resale pts for the AK night in Dec, I do have direct for the perks and my member ID # for.both contracts are the same can I register for the event this Thursday?

You should be able to unless they have changed the rules again. Be sure to put in the member ID that the reservation is booked under (so the resale one) in this case.

if the registration is based on the hotel booking you have to be booked w/ the points that have the benefit. if your resale doesnt have the MM benefit because you arent grandfathered in, you should use the direct one. if its the general registration where hotel doesnt matter and your resale has MM benefit then you can book w/ which ever

I don't believe that is true. I have 2 memberships (Dec - direct, Feb - resale only). I have booked using my resale membership ID because that is the reservation was on. I tried putting in my direct membership ID and got an error but when I put in the resale, it worked.

i was told this by DVC member and also when i tried to book w/ my resale contract that does not have the MM benefit i was not able to. I can only use my resale contract that has the MM benefits. if it works for you then just proceed w/ how you have it. remember if your resale has the MM benefit (meaning it was bought before the time the membership benefits were removed) then its okay, its for those that dont have MM benefits on their resale contract.

I have two memberships (one with direct blue card points and one resale without blue card perks). I asked MS a while ago if a reservation with my resale points would allow me to do early registration, I was told No.

For Early Registration-

If your booking for the date* of Moonlight Magic is on a non-grandfathered resale contract, IF that is on a different membership number from what makes you blue card eligible…

You must enter the Membership Number of that particular resale contract with the booking.

*this includes check-in and check-out days

The first stage of the registration system checks that a booking qualifies. If you don’t get that part right, you won’t proceed to the part where the system looks at member status. The system knows individual members as only 2 things: Blue Card Y (yes), or Blue Card N (no). So even if working from the resale membership number, it will always see whether or not the member has Blue Card Y.

Then I should be ok I think. Both of my contract are under the same membership #. so if I put it in they'll see I have direct perks. If I dont get to go any further then it's because my 1 day reservation is on my resale one. So fingers crossed I guess. I will have tonwait til general I guess. When is that one by the way?

So far, as long as you are eligible and have a reservation booked using your membership, whether that particular membership is eligible, you qualify for early registration.

And, I didn’t see anything so far that indicates a change. As mentioned, you enter the membership ID that contains the reservation.

Also, the day before, they send out emails to everyone in which the system recognized an eligible trip.

If you get one of those, then you definitely are!! If you don’t, I’d still try!!!

Yes, you should be fine for Early Registration. No complication of having more than one Membership Number, and you are Blue Card Y so you’ll qualify. As long as the booking was booked through DVC by the eligible member on the reservation, doesn’t matter whether resale or not.

The way it has been working over the last year -

Any blue card eligible member has to have a personally used booking on the corresponding MM date, and that booking must be made using their own personal membership. That’s it.

You just need to be blue card using your own points (resale and direct have both been fine), or having made a cash reservation THROUGH Member Services (that inventory is DVC villas only, and usually comes with 25% discount), because that would also be considered using your membership.

Using your own points includes converting your points to the Disney Collection, like this:

You could book Moderates and Values through the Disney Collection to qualify.
