LP gas ranges

.....the WOW factor (and the extra $25K) and just stuck with good old GE or something tried & true......DanMurphy - Wolf is a high-end brand of ranges - they are professional restaurant quality fitted for residential homes.
Ahhh, I see. I don't need them then, especially if that $25K pertains to the cost of them. :faint: :scared1: Thanks, Tara.

I have the Wolf dual fuel 6 burner range with grill & double ovens. I think I've chatted with you before Twinglemum! We have natural gas though, so I can't answer your questions on LP (propane). We did use a propane tank for a basement heater in our old house, and it was very expensive to refill the tank.

The range is like a piece of art in the kitchen - and like the OP said, I've never had 5 or more burners in use at once. I have had both ovens going, but rarely. The grill is nice in the winter when it's too cold to grill outside here. But is IS messy to clean up!

If I were to remodel or build I don't know that I'd go with the Wolf again. Not Wolf specifically, just a range that large. I love it - no complaints - but it cost more than my 1st car, and I think next time I'd use that money towards something else.

Hi Tara!! Yup , You have been kind enough to talk to me before. Is the Wolf really $25,000 I thought it was $15000 ( bad enough but I was thinking about it). My sister got the THermador 6 burner single oven for $7000. I might have to rethink thinngs.

Other than the price are you happy with Wolf's quality???

LOL you are correct - the Wolf range & the exhaust system (much more complex than a "regular" range exhaust system) was about $15K. The other $10K I was referring to was what I went over on my appliance allowance for the Jenn-Air appliances.

I'm happy with the quality, but is it really that much better than anything else out there - doubtful. I have found that the back of my ovens heats higher than the front, not sure why, but I don't want the $$ service call to find out! You cannot use dark non-stick bakeware in the ovens either - it burns everything on the bottom. Or maybe that's just my poor baking skills!

That's something to consider - having an underground LP tank. Do that if you can. In the old house ours was above ground & MANY potential buyers commented on it as a negative when showing our house. We had problems placing the tank due to township restrictions (had to be so many feet away from X, Y & Z) so it was visible from the street, and was on the front side of the house. In our township you also cannot paint or disguise your tank in any way, so it was very bright white & stuck out like a sore thumb!

The head of the tank sticks out of the ground but I can paint the head green, which is what I did, and I planted a bush in front of it. The tank itself has to be white if its above the ground so it reflects the sunlight and heat.

I'm not sure what I'll wind up doing but its fun to dream.
