Seriously, I know this is supposed to be a good thing but, BOY was I miffed this morning when I weighed in online and got the "HAPPY NEWS". I had forgotten about that bit of information as it's been about 11 weeks since they lowered my points last time. Again, I know it's good but, I wanted to jokingly vent anyway. :p

2 pts. is a whole snack, ya know?!?! :earseek: I see myself using more of those flex points now. :(

:teeth:

I lost 2 points this week too, and it's a bummer! Progress is good, but I would love to have an extra Skinny Cow, LOL! Oh well, I'm sure we can get used to it. ::yes::

Elisabeth, isn't that a bummer?! I lost 2 points right after my first week and, I was baffled then, too! LOL

2 pts = 6 cups of fat free popcorn plus I can add "free" butter spray all I like! Those 2 pts MEAN something! :p

Yeah, we'll adjust! ;)

I'm new to WW, but since you lost 2 points, are you able to increase your activity points, so you can enjoy that extra snack?

Well, I do at least 2 pts worth of exercising now so, maybe in the future I can increase bit by bit and, gain it back (the POINTS not the weight, of course). Good way to look at it! Thanks!;)

I feel your pain, Kim. I know how important those two points are. Your body will adjust to the reduction, but it takes a bit of time, especially if you are like me and used to eating your maximum points.

That's just it, Debbi. We get so many points per day. We DO everything we can to eat within that total.....we get good at it.....we're losing and....they take 2 more away! IF we're supposed to be able to eat whatever we want than why are my 2 pt snacks being taken away?!?! :(

Seriously, I know WW pretty well and, I know WHY but again, I was just jokingly venting/sharing. ;)

Obviously, those 35 flex points are there for a reason and, I just hadn't used mine very much, until now!

Would anyone else care to share how many flex points you use per week? Or, if you ignore them? And, what your progress is? I know my Mom does NOT count her activity points...everybody's different I guess. What do YOU do?

Last week, I used my 35 flex points PLUS went over by 32 Points (vacation) and, LOST 1.5 lbs! Go Figure!

I also know to get back on track ASAP (minus another 2 pts) and, Lose some weight for The Mother's Day Challenge! (shameless plug);)

I can relate! As I lose weight, my calories per day decrease. I have already had to go from 1600 to 1400 calories per day. In a few pounds I will need to go down to 1200 calories! The end result is worth it, though! :sunny:

it was an adjustment for me to lose my points too

I'm at 20 minimum and I try to eat just 20 maybe twice a week. Other days I eat my APs (between 2-4) and usually I eat between 15-30 of my FPs.

some weeks I just take Saturday night "off" knowing i have FPs but just dont' count. this is NOT a good idea b/c I don't lose the weeks I do that :)

more bad news -- I think when you hit a certain weight you earn less APs per workout session too!

I never really thought about that before. As a reward for doing so well, now you can eat less! It does seem mean of them, doesn't it. I'm only on my 3rd week of WW and had my 2 points taken away after the 1st week so at least I wasn't used to them yet. I'm going to try to not use flex points at all unless it's an "emergency". For each pound I lose in the next 3 weeks, it's an extra Mickey Bar I can eat At WDW!
;)

Kim, vent away....it is frustrating!!!

I can't help with the flex points as I follow an older plan since I am here in Italy. As for the activity points, I generally do not use them. When I am really hungry and at the top of my points I usually turn to water or my zero point veggies. But some days.......mama mia, I just can't control myself. I take it day by day.

Good luck, you are doing such a great job!

Too funny Kim!:teeth: What a nice "reward"!

My frustration comes in when my weight flucuates just enough to make my points go down, then up, then down..... Plus, I do it online as well, so it changes all your previous weeks..... Very hard to look back at flex pts and such when it keeps changing!

As far as using flex pts, I do best when I only use 5 to 8 per week. I do use my AP pts if I want, but I try to stay away from using flex as much as possible.

Good luck at your new level!

When I first started WW (online) I hardly used any of my FP and I was losing 1-2 lbs/week. Now I normally use all of them and I'm losing 1/2lb/week. I know it has everything to do with the FP because last week I used maybe half of them and I lost 2 1/2 lbs.

Can anyone tell me when I might see another "point drop"? I started at 175lbs and my first drop came when I hit 169. I was so scared they would drop me again that I lied when I really was 165, I put 165.5 just so they wouldn't! I'm now at 160 - is it going to come next time I enter a loss?

I just lost 2 points, too :( I like losing weight, but not food points, even though I, too, understand the reason for it.

Is anyone thinking of experimenting with not giving up those extra points for a week to see what happens? I've heard some WW'ers say they didn't stop using the points until they stopped losing weight. Anyone had any experience in that regard?

I'd be afraid to. :scared:

What I don't understand is, why everyone wouldn't or couldn't just use flex points then. That would be 14 a week and certainly under the 35.

For me it's mental tho ( ) I KNOW I only have so many points and, I use FP for other things, not just for every day stuff.

kellyb, I don't know for sure but, I think it's at 25 lb markers. 200, 175, 150?, 125?.and on..down to 18 points minimum I think....not sure tho.

My POINTS lowered more than a month now and I am still trying to adjust. :p I have been using all my Flex Points since the drop.

Well, that's GOOD news! I'll still have my 22 points for 10 more pounds! Thanks for that info!

Kim -

I am here to tell you that you can rebel against it!! I am living proof that it works.

I weight 135 now, and when I dropped to 149 I did not lower my points to 20 target points. I kept it to 22, and I will never lower it. I also eat between 2 & 2.5 AP's per day (except the days I don't exercise and occassionally if I only exercise for 1/2 hour then I only get 1.5 points). I also eat all of my flex points per week (yep all 35 and sometimes I eat a few more and occassionally a few less. Mostly its all though).

Maybe I don't loose tons each week, but I do loose and exercising really helps. To me, I refuse to eat that little. I want keep my metabolism burning at a higher rate. Sometimes, when you drop too low, you cause your metabolism to slow. Then when it's time for maintenance you have a hard time maintaining without keeping your points low. My goal for maintenance is to reach as high as I can with the amount of points I eat each day.

Also, now that I eat so healthy with very minimal junk snacking. I am hoping that the extra points during maintenance will allow me to eat more fruits and dairy products, as well as other healthy options to keep my body fueled.

I can't wait to get to maintenance.
