lovinaz's "getting her act together" journal

Amy, I think your body chemistry/metabolism is finally catching up to the efforts you have been making for some time! I am so excited for you, you will be at goal in no time. Good job not snacking, it does add up.

Yeah, I count the chips for my kids too. But only when I buy chips which is hardly ever since I myself cannot stay out of them!

I so want my icky popcorn ceilings scraped. Why oh why do builders do that? We have vaulted ceilings in a couple of rooms and it will be a pain so I need to hire somebody. I can relate, our Home Depot trip last night just for paint and supplies plus a few things for the yard almost made me faint.

Let the big whigs see you sweaty on the treadmill. Then they'll know why you look so good in your bathing suit!!

hi amy
you are doing fantastic with your workouts & food - no wonder the weight is flying off!! :)
have a good trip - i'm afraid as the weather stands at the moment - that bikini will only be good for the hot tub!! - cold, wet, windy & grey :( try & bring some sun with you please!!!

You are doing a great job, Amy!!!!:cheer2: Can you send some motivation my way? ;)

Thanks for sharing the oatmeal recipe. I'll have to give it a try!:goodvibes

Have a wonderful weekend!:hug:

Today's weigh-in was 136!!! That is a 1lb loss from last week. I am SO excited about it! One more lb lost and I will actually match the weight on my driver's license. :rolleyes1 My next goal will be 130 by the time we go on our European trip. Not sure if I will make that, but hey, a girl can dream, right?

This week has been crazy, I feel like every trip I take, the less prepared I am. I have gotten into the bad habit of packing about 2 hours before I leave for the airport. That is just setting myself up for disaster one of these days!

This weekend will go by in a flash, manual labor for 2 days straight, can't wait. My flight doesn't leave until 7:30pm, so there is no excuse to not work at the rental on Sunday!

For Thursday:
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: spinach salad w/chicken, cheese, LF dressing
S: 3 egg whites, zucchini
S: celery-n-hummus, 5 M&M's
D: baked chicken parmesan, green beans, HC fudge bar

E: none

Amy, I hope you are right about my metabolism. Either that or I have a tapeworm! :lmao:We also have popcorn ceilings in our house, and if this guy does a good job at the rental, we might hire him to take care of our house too. Normally I wouldn't touch the rental, but they have NO popcorn in the kitchen, but popcorn in the rest of the adjoining dining/living room, so it looks really weird. As for the swimsuit, those guys better not be noticing how good I look! Or I will have to tell all their wives. :rolleyes: Who am I kidding, they are men, they will look...

Tracey, bummer on the weather! I will try to bring some AZ sunshine with me.

Tracy, if I had motivation, I'd definitely share it. I think most of my loss can be chalked up to being too busy and stressed. Not the advice I'd give anyone!

We ended up going out last night... I actually did OK with drinks, didn't go overboard like a couple weekends ago! ;)

For some reason I am up and about at 6am. That is just WRONG! :rolleyes1 Just a quick note before we head over to the rental house to start working. We are supposed to go to a friend's house tonight to watch some fight (well, it usually works out that the guys watch the fight and the girls chat). So we'll see how that goes!

For Friday:
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: pineapple chicken w/brown rice
S: S'mores 100 cal pack
D: 1 huge slice pizza (w/meat, peppers, pineapple)
Drinks: 1 key lime martini, 1 cosmo, 1.5 summer breeze, 2 rum-n-diet cokes (over 5hrs)

E: 45min stair climber/elliptical combo machine
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracy, thanks! I am not looking forward to that long flight tomorrow, that's for sure...
:hug:Amy,
I hope you have a safe flight today. Maybe you can sleep through most of it.:wizard:
Have a great Sunday!:hug:
My quads are SORE from painting all day yesterday! :headache: I got to the rental a little before 8am and did not leave until 7pm. So, no workout, but I only sat down once, to eat lunch. It's looking pretty good, I can't wait to start painting with color instead of primer! I have a ton of things to do today (grocery shopping, laundry, packing) but I want to head over there for at least a couple hours before I have to leave for the airport at 5pm.
Food has been light, just because I've been so busy! I checked the weather in the UK and was shocked to see temps in the 60's and SUNSHINE in the forecast! I'll believe it when I see it! :rotfl: I will still need to take long sleeves though, since '60's is cold for my AZ blood...
For Saturday:
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: chicken lunchmeat sandwich on wheat w/1 slice cheddar, spinach, mustard; 1 snack bag SunChips
S: 1/2 ice cream sandwich (damn that ice cream truck at the rental!)
D: chicken machaca; spanish rice; 1 tortilla; 5 M&M's
E: none, just painting!
Tracy, thanks! Unfortunately I am not able to get too much sleep on the plane. It just never works for me! I'll toss and turn for maybe 3 hours but that's it. :confused3
Hi Amy,
I hope you had a safe flight and that you're able to catch up on some sleep while in the UK this week. :goodvibes How's the weather out there? Did you bring some sunshine and warmer weather with you for Tracey? :beach:
I hope you have a great evening!:hug:
I'm so glad that the weather is improving out your way, Tracey!:cool1: Sunshine in the morning is always a great way to start the day!:cool2:
Hope you're doing well, Amy!:hug:
Amy, glad the UK rolled out the sunshine and nice weather for you! I was painting all weekend too, I am telling you, I only sat down for lunch myself and I am counting that as workout time!
Great job on another loss on the scale, good job!
Hope the week is going well, beware of the clotted cream!!!:rotfl:
Yes, I did manage to bring sunshine and warm (well, I guess it's warm for UK standards) weather with me!! :cool1: Unfortunately I didn't bring the sleep fairy with me...:sad2: It is 2:45am and I haven't gone to sleep yet. I had a great master plan, but it backfired on me. Yesterday, we arrived and I stayed up until midnight, then slept all night until 6am. Today, I tried to do the same thing, but alas, was not tired at midnight. I tried to get to sleep around 1am, no go. I am hoping I get tired soon, if not, I will be a train wreck tomorrow during my all day meeting.:confused3
Food has been OK. Not great, but not horrible. We ate at a pub last night (had a steak & ale pie) I have not worked out since I've been here. NOT GOOD. We'll see what tomorrow brings. It's a mixed blessing traveling with others. I like the company, but I miss being on my own routine, if that makes sense...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracy, good weather came with me! And I got upgraded to First class on the way here! No one else in my group did, they were so jealous... :laughing:

Tracey, glad I could bring some sunshine!

Amy, unfortunately I will not be in a position to imbibe in clotted cream this trip!

Well, I hope you got some sleep eventually! I can't even imagine, I get messed up bad enough when I go to Florida! I guess that's a good thing about the clotted cream!

Sweet Dreams (hopefully)!

I hope you get a little sleep so you can enjoy a bit of your trip.....even if it is for work. :upsidedow

I made it back safe and sound last night. I knew it wasn't going to be good news on the scale this morning and I was right. I gained 4 lbs! :eek: Weight was 139. The only thing good about that is that it wasn't back in the 140's. I think I would have started crying if that was the case! So, what went wrong with my plan to not gain anything on this trip? I didn't work out once. Not a single time! And I drank WAY too much wine. :sad2: And traveling with others really is a mixed blessing. I like the company, but I don't like not being able to do my own thing. And my sleep was WAY screwed up, and I chose to sleep in instead of work out in the mornings. :guilty: I have another trip, leaving May 4th. It is 1 night shorter, hopefully I can behave a little better. :wizard:

Glad you had a safe trip home Amy :)
hopefully the 4lb gain will come off once your back in your normal routine.
Your body clock must be all over the place with so much long distance travelling in such short periods of time!!!
4th May is a bank holiday here so watch out for nightmare traffic - especially if you bring the sun again ;)

One pound down, 3 to go... I hope this trip weight is gone before my next trip! :wizard:

Yesterday was OK foodwise. Not anything to brag about, since I ate out for both lunch and dinner, but at least I didn't snack at all.

Just a quick post before I head out to the rental to paint. Hopefully we will be done today!

For Saturday:
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: prickly pear chicken sandwich (no mayo, only ate 1/2 the bread)
D: 1/2 Queensland salad @ Outback, 2 pieces bread w/butter, 1 blueberry martini, 2 dark chocolate Swiss thins

E: none :guilty:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracey, I leave AZ on Monday evening, and don't get to the UK until Tuesday afternoon, so hopefully I will avoid all the bank holiday traffic!
Amy, don't stress about that gain. Flying really makes us retain water and that may be half or more of that gain. Give it a few days to flush out and that along with getting back to your routine will get those pounds off in a flash. Travelling with others is hard, I know when dh used to travel every week (he used to work in San Diego and commute home on the weekends) he felt the same way if other people were with him. Too easy to go out for drinks and dinner and skip working out when you have companions steering you away! And lack of sleep can wreakc havoc with your weight, so you really got it from all ends last week! Congrats on still being in the 130's!
Hope you have a nice rest of the weekend, bet your family (including Buckley) are so glad to have you home!
