But just because you have repurposed your money, let's not pretend you are spending "less" per se. You are just spending elsewhere (and in the case of your convention, possibly using a corporate account to fund at least a portion of your accomodations as anyone on a business trip might).

I'm sure we can all be certain of that. In regards to the rest of your comments, I don't really understand your point since it is apparently based on your own assumptions and has nothing to do with how much anyone else is willing to pay for something. If you'd like to further discuss my accommodations and how they are acquired, there is another thread I'll be happy to do that in and explain how I'm only paying $242 a week for a condo in June. But that discussion really doesn't belong here.

I don't need an econ lesson. When you say everything goes up, and have gas as an example and it is less than half of the cost it was at its peak point. That would be an incorrect statement!

Based on recent and current conditions I think it's safe to say a very large number of paying customers would like to see more of those types of attractions.

As long as Disney can continue to draw huge crowds by paying two girls in their early 20's minimum wage, we are going to be seeing more of that and less of what you'd like. Though I would have to say that whatever Star Wars is brings, it is going to be more in line with the attractions that you listed and less like The Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

I am merely pointing out the flaw in your claim that you are spending less IF it just involved spending less at one business.

I spend less at Winn Dixie--because I would rather spend my grocery money at Publix. It made little impact on my outflow of cash since I choose to spend elsewhere.

Gas prices are such a manipulated commodity, that you can't assign a simple rule such as "supply and demand" to it. Which is why they mostly keep it out of calculations of Consumer Price Index.

I don't have to try at all. They are what they are. It's one thing to express an opinion, it's another to chastise others for not feeling the same way by suggesting they get out of your park.

If someone did that, you'd have a point, but just saying it doesn't make it so. If someone is interested in thrill rides, then I'd tell them Disney is probably not their kind of park. Disney has many times over, rides that are not thrill rides, than those that are. That's not telling someone to get out of my park. I'm not one who thinks it's my park or that I know better than Disney how to run it.

It's hard to dispute what the most popular rides are at WDW:.

It absolutely is easy to dispute. We have FP+ availability to look at. So, popular with who? You and those who want more thrill rides. I'd say the single most popular attraction (because Disney doesn't claim to have rides) is the A&E m&g, followed by SDMT. I don't think those are thrill rides. Based on availability alone here's my list:

A&E Meet n Greet
SDMT
FOF Parade
Wishes
SDMT
TSMM

Based on that, if I were Disney I'd be saying people want more attractions like those. Not one is a thrill ride.

I completely agree. It's only good business sense to accept the largest amount possible in return for the lowest cost possible. That's exactly what they are doing and it makes perfect sense.

And as long as no one grows tired of who those two girls in their 20's pretend to be, it's a successful strategy.

I can't wait to see what Star Wars brings. I would assume there will be some attractions that are thrill ride style, but I'm guessing a lot of things that aren't and the Disney style that no one else can do as well as they can.

I do think HS is a great place to place thrill ride type attractions. Disney needs something more to attract teen age boys- I think that's where they fail and I think Star Wars will do it.

I'm pretty sure you are the one who keeps characterizing the top list as "thrill" rides. I'm not sure I'd call any of them that, some of them coasters maybe because one even includes that in it's name. I certainly agree that the ones in your list are popular as well (so why not add more of those?) but are you telling me the ones I listed are not among the most popular attractions at WDW?

I'm perfectly fine with more of the style of attractions I listed. But this particular discussion started with that Disney has done little or nothing in the way of new attractions as of late.

If that is true, and "a lot of them" or even "thousands and thousands" want more and more "rides", why is that somehow a selfish desire for some sort of undesirable end result? WDW exists because millions of people want more.

Many of the most popular "rides" at WDW are coaster rides, are they not? Is there something wrong with those people? Should they be going to a different park?

I just don't understand why it's necessary to cast anyone in an unfavorable light because of what they want, especially if a large number of them want the same thing and they are willing to pay for it.

I would take it one step further. For me at least, it's not about building more thrill rides. It's about Disney building rides the "wow" me. It's about Disney doing something nobody else is doing. If you look at Disney's "big" Thrill Rides rides. Test Track and Tower of Terror. Even today, nobody is making rides like that. The classic Disney dark rides Haunted Mansion, POTC were built on an Epic scale that regional theme park can't touch. In my mind, the last truly innovative ride at WDW was Mission Space and maybe Expedition Everest. Both of which were plagues with problems. But after a string of successes with RnR, Test Track, Soarin', Dinosaur (yes I know some of those were transplants from DL). Since then, WDW for the most part has "played it safe". We seem to get "that's nice" instead of "wow". And it doesn't need to be thrill rides. Instead of the Little Mermaid ride we got, what if it had been built like Mystic Manor at DLHK. They could have build a "wow" dark ride instead of a "that's nice".

You've drawn your own conclusions as to what "More" is when I say "More for Less". You apparently assume that "Less" is also limited to spending, not time, and that I'm still spending the same in either case when in fact I'm not.

If I were to tell you I followed a diet that allowed me to lose weight while eating more of the foods I like, would you automatically assume that I'm not eating healthy?

You took my quote out of context, there is an "Etc...." after the last mention in the list which means there are more and I wasn't stating that was a definitive list in terms of popularity. But in all fairness to Disney, let's not limit them to the top 5. They can all be deemed among the most popular attractions in each of their respective parks as evidenced by either FP availability or SB wait times. It would be silly to argue otherwise.

I never said they should build thrill rides. I said rides and attractions. Build , refresh, continue to grow. Some food for thought. If you don't build attractions during periods of record attendance and profits, are you going to build when its slow and you don't have as much money coming in?

Absolutely agree. I never mentioned wanting more roller coasters or thrill rides. More headline attractions yes. I love RSR at DLR and that is by no means a thrill ride or a coaster, but it is a Super headliner

I only limited myself because you limited your claim of the most popular rides to only those 6. There are many more attractions than I listed that are very popular as well. One of the top ones I failed to list was Peter Pan's Flight- I was only listing what are the top attractions in popularity.

I was simply disproving you claim that "It's hard to dispute what the most popular rides are at WDW". It isn't hard, because it isn't true. They are not the most popular rides. They're just popular.
